TerribleBen[TK] Posted December 8, 2025 Report Posted December 8, 2025 I had a Darkside Closet underskirt and knee gaskets, this doesn't seem to be qualified as Expert or Centurion grade. Anyone know of a maker for this? I think my armor will pass with a mount for my thermal detonator. I have a Nico helmet to assemble, just need a qualified undershirt/undersuit...suggestion? Quote
TheRascalKing[TK] Posted December 8, 2025 Report Posted December 8, 2025 https://keeptrooping.com/product/new-era-undersuit/ Hands down the best one currently available. 1 Quote
TerribleBen[TK] Posted December 12, 2025 Author Report Posted December 12, 2025 Nice suit...The question is will it pass Expert and/or Centurion? Not worth it if it won't pass insection. Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 https://crls.501st.com/fisd/stormtrooper-rogue-one This is the CRL text for you to compare to as a first check. Any specific questions can be asked to the DO team. Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos/designs. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Top, where visible shall be fully ribbed with all horizontal ribbing on the arms, chest, and back. The centre of chest and back may be mesh as long as it is covered by armor. Pants shall be black non-textured material and have horizontal ribbing at the knees only. Knee gaskets are allowed as long as they correctly match top ribbing material, spacing and color. The hip section shall not have ribs. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): All ribbing on knees, arms, chest, and back must be stitched between each rib in detail and proportion to official references. The armpit area shall have the correct hexagonal mesh detail Quote
TerribleBen[TK] Posted December 12, 2025 Author Report Posted December 12, 2025 So the Keep trooping suit will pass expert but not Centurion...no hexagon mesh in armpi, not worth it..I'm not a seamstress so no Expert or Centurion for me....Thanks again Quote
TheRascalKing[TK] Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 The only two makers of proper Rogue One/New Era style undersuits that I'm aware of are Keep Trooping (left) and Jim Tripon (right). I happen to own both of their undersuits and to have worn a production undersuit. Jim's is great and well made, but the Keep Trooping is as close as we'll likely get to the studio ones and is fantastic. Both feature the hexagonal mesh detail in the armpit and both should qualify for L3. 1 Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 CRL needs to be updated as is currently states ”hip section shall not have ribs” at L2. There are Troopers showing both ribbed and unribbed hip areas. I said this a while back as well but it never came to be. Quote

I don't believe all suits had the ribs for Rogue One/early Mando, but all of the newer ones do have ribs at the hip to my knowledge. I have an early two-piece suit from Jim, and it does not have ribs (but probably could by request), and the one-piece Keep Trooping suit does have ribs. There are a few items needing revision on the ROTK CRL as well as some options with differences seen in Mando/ObiWan, ribbed short area, holster, pauldron, detonator ends and more. 1 Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted December 13, 2025 Report Posted December 13, 2025 If those of you more expert than I am can gather a list of the proposed changes, I can get it done reasonably quickly. But I'll need help to get the changes. Quote

themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted December 27, 2025 Report Posted December 27, 2025 I am currently looking at the Night Trooper CRL, which is based on the R1 CRL, so I may as well kill two birds here. I've had a look at the list Glen posted, but it's just a list of things that need updating. Not how they need to be updated. The under suit sounds like it just needs The hip section shall not have ribs. removing, anything else? For the rest I need more details. Quote

Most up to date list in the staff section CRL todo list, I can't recall if some of these have been addressed, brain only holds so much information these days. That's where they have stopped, there has been no conversations about wording that I know to date so a discussion will need to take place. themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted December 29, 2025 Report Posted December 29, 2025 Some of this is assumes the R1 CRL is updated to be a "non-saga" CRL as most the changes are from useage post R1. I've posted on legion about this rename. Teeth - R1, NT and artillery all already say 9. Shins (for all of R1, NT & Art) Add to L1: Shin closure is at the rear of the calf. The rear cover strip is mounted permanently to the outer half and closes over the inner half on both shins. Under Suit (for all of R1, NT & Art) Remove from L2: The hip section shall not have ribs. TD R1: "The center of both end caps is grey or white, and both must match." The wording "both" should imply both match but English isn't everyones first language so good to be a bit more specific. NT: just remove that line as they may want a grey TD as some of their grey elements. AT: no change without specific evidence. Pouldrons need to dig into that one more than I have time for today. Holster, blasters and space pack We can't add anything without a photo but if someone builds one I can help make it happen. Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted December 29, 2025 Report Posted December 29, 2025 Oops forgot the back plate details: These are a few small details that would be lvl3 only, and is quite a small detail. Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted December 30, 2025 Report Posted December 30, 2025 One more thing, photo of the belt in the R1 CRL show white webbing connecting the drop boxes, should be black. Quote

These changes are now applied to the working document I have for the NT which is in the correct format for the new CRL system. The R1 CRL was renamed to Non-Saga yesterday so will request the other CRLs be updated "soon". 1 Quote
