I have more detailed shots of limbs to post but my battery’s down to 10%.

Plus I have to go to bed. Need to get up in one hour.

Will add a bit later.

Hello James.

Congratulations...Very nice work on this armor.:th_AnimatedBravoSmiley:

I don't think you will have any problem reaching level 1;).

I especially like the angle of the helmet's ears....:peace:

However, seeing as you are picky about details, there are a couple of things that caught my eye(please keep in mind that these may be things that are only required at higher levels)..

-I would lower the forearms a little, so that they are closer to the wrist.

MPuGA0H.png

-The color of the handguards (and of the paint of the ear screws) seems too yellowish (it may be an effect of the photo).

7Atf5FL.jpg   uFPLiCT.jpg

-The belt:  It will be up to your GML to decide if this is OK.;)

0QjrOhi.jpg

         -  L3-The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt.

         -  L3-Canvas belt must be firm / sturdy in appearance. No creasing or sagging .

             ICtQbll.png   gNocrxt.png

Let's wait for the rest of the photos. But very nice work in general. Congratulations again.:jc_doublethumbup:

Nice work, just a couple more items you could adjust:

Detonator should be level, on an angle. Gaps between the top ridges of calves, I added a couple of pieces of scrap abs behind to it appears fully closed

tk3.thumb.jpg.3e932d925042f6e199ef905f89394535.jpg

Try to match the spacing near wrists

tk1.thumb.jpg.1f0b4bb10fc69d411814319a1ef637e3.jpg

Good luck with approval, hope we see you with a TKID soon :D

Thank you all for the great feedback and encouragement.

I’ve actually just bought a better belt from Trooperbay last week.
I hope this will address all the issues raised but it likely won’t arrive for another month.

Not sure why the forearms are still not right as I thought I’d already addressed this.

Will have another go at it.

White paint on screws and rivets is Humbrol White #22.
It goes on nice and white but does seem to dry a bit creamy instead.
Any recommendations or tried & tested alternatives?

Thermal detonator was crooked as I dressed myself without a mirror.
Was trying to rely on photos to get it right.

But it does sit straight when worn properly.

Handguards are a bit off-white.

I can paint them with white acrylic.
That will probably look more screen-accurate anyway.

Thanks again for all your input.
I definitely want to get this as close to perfect as I can.

Thank you, Mike. That’s my aim.

(We’re good at aiming and we?)

Aiming is fine, it's the hitting we have issues with ;)

Bikerscouts are just as bad

Yes, thank you. I still have a lot of cleanup to do. That one is definitely the worst.

Forgot to add my blaster. Since my main E-11 still needs some work, I’m submitting for basic with my Doopydoo’s.

It doesn’t have a Hengstler and the scope is an M19 not an M38.

But for higher level approvals I will have exactly that.

Also make sure that the t-tracks, and the grip, have no weathering;):

L3- The blaster may have minor weathering or base metal exposure however, T-tracks and grips shall be of a black plastic appearance with no silver/metallic weathering allowed.

I’ll have this one ready for Level 3. Still WIP now.

Been doing lots of cleanup and fixing highlighted issues.

Waiting for flexible acrylic paint to arrive, so I haven’t painted the handguards white yet.

But I’ve adjusted the forearm height.

To answer your question about white paint for the rivet heads, I ended up using a white spray paint in a rattle can. I too had noticed that both humbrol and testors enamel white appeared to actually dry to an off-white color. I actually sprayed my rivets with the white then an enamel clear coat prior to installation on my armor, and decided on the specific white type through trial and error with several cans.

Looking great thus far! I'm especially impressed by the placement of your main belt relative to the bottom ab button!

I was wondering whether to borrow my wife’s white nail varnish!

I’m considering white acrylic then, as you say, top it off with some kind of clear coat.
