TK-12953 - A Dave's Darkside Depot EIB AHN Stunt build

While I await the arrival of the new earcaps, I decided I would work on my belts. Yes, I said belts. My goal is to have an EI ANH Stunt and an ESB. So swap out helmet, belt, hand guards... two kits.
I followed Tony's guild and cut the 45s and I'm looking at punching holes. Just curious about the belt squares. I'm not sure if I need to cut this down (thickness) or is the little depth okay.

One thing that I am noticing in the photo of your belt is that the canvas belt appears to not be lining up with the 45 degree cut outs on the corners of the ABS belt.  It could just be a perspective issue on the photo if the canvas belt has dropped away from the ABS one.  If you are aiming for Centurion, then you may need to trim the corners a bit as shown below.

L3 CRL: "The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt."

I'm only chasing EI, but I'll look at making the adjustments, just in case. ;)

Okay, after some time off working on other projects, I'm back on working on building my DDD's AM 5.0 to at least EI.

So I'm at the point i need some feedback. I need shims between the kidney and Ab plates. I measured the distance between the two and cut some shims, matched them up to the kidney and glued in some back strips. So am I on the right path?

secondly, I don't remember which bicep is the left/right and which forearm is left right. My ATA kit had the thumb print on both biceps, and I though the forearm with the more curve was the right one.

Pictures below.

Ab/Kidney shims.

Side shims are looking good.

NOTES ON BICEPS:

In the original films, many of the biceps had an indentation, or "thumbprint" (normally worn only on the left) on the inside.  As the biceps are interchangeable, this is not a requirement for any level.

Coming along nicely.

I think the shims are done. I might go back and use the ABS slurry to try and make it seamless, but as EI doesn't require it, I'm going to move on to the next step.

Okay, time to talk belt build. I'm taking a break from my wife's R1TK to get back to my EIB AHN Stunt build. Question about the Billgram for the belt. The measurement for bottom of the belt to holster reads 1" (2.5), but it doesn't show where you measure. It how much strap is showing, or is it from the bottom of the belt to the bottom of the holster strap?a426557824c5e9d81b376c4f9506e64a.jpg

Okay, I've put in the 6 split rivets, and the "Han snap" And I'm starting the strapping. I'll go back to the holster after I get some clarification from the DOs.

So, here are some updates. I still need to do some trimming of the cod, but I feel like on the right path. I followed @justjoseph63 and @wingnut65 pictures and suggestion for the 1" and 2" nylon instead of building snap plates this time, we'll see how it goes. I have to order some more 24 Line snaps as I'm just about out and the double snaps will eat them up. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

It's how much strap is showing, so from top of the holster to bottom of the belt.

There are also differences in position depending on trooper, updated info and images are here
