Hi James.  You did a nice job on your armor!  I would wait for the official word but I'm pretty sure you are going to have to remove your decal on your shoulder bell.  Other then that you look good.  Maybe just try and raise your thighs up a little?  Good luck with your application!

Hey James Andrew or myself will be with you shortly. While you're waiting please post a photo showing the helmet lens color and as Steve mentioned decals are not allowed during the application process. Please post photos of your armor without the decal on the left shoulder bell :duim:

Thank you  :D

Thanks James. Note: if you choose to shoot for Centurion please provide application photos (all) without the decal
Gotta admit i do like the idea of centurion . I'll see what happens with EIB first but will bear that in mind

Hi James, sorry for the lengthy delay. I am just going through your application and have found something that unfortunately will require changing to fit the EIB CRL.

The CRL states the following

For level two certification (if applicable):

  • Thigh ammo belt is attached to thigh with a solid head rivet or fastener in the upper corner and fastened to the lower thigh ridge.

It appears you have a pop rivet with the hole in the head of the rivet filled in. These will need to be changed to Split rivets or Cap rivets.

We have two items that require quick adjustment that you have an opportunity to adjust while you sort out the new rivets for the knee pack.

These have no bearing on an approval for EIB but will make you look a touch better. One shoulder bell sits further away from the shoulder bridge than the other, and 2. your thighs sit a touch low, leaving quite a gap between the cod and their tops. If you can bring them up about an inch, that would even out the gaps.

You have done an awesome job on your armour and the paint job on your helmet is fantastic.

Please post up the new images of your thigh ammo pack once the new rivets are installed.

Yes those are the correct type, so if that is what you have used they are correct :). This is a good example of how important close up and clear photos need to be. It was a little hard to determine from the original photos. I will be back on your application after work today. Thanks again for your patience with us James.

Phew!... i wasnt looking forward to playing with those rivets again lol. If i ever go for Centurion i'll be sure to put a bit more time into the detail pictures to make sure things are much clearer .
In the mean time i hope these updated pictures help with the thigh location.

Hey James thank you for your EIB application and your patience. Let's have a look.
CRL and EIB Application Requirements:
All the required submission photos have been posted, and your armour meets all the necessary requirements for level 2. With that Tony and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry, congratulations :salute:

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:
In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections.

Overall your armour looks really nice and fits you well, great job. Only minor dress issues we think so not much to discuss.

Watch the strap on the left side between your Kidney and back plates. A touch of length taken out will keep those plates sitting on top of each other as they do on the right side in the image below.

Thank you for taking those new photos and adjusting your thighs as mentioned in your app thread. You took them a tiny bit too high, ow if you can drop them just a touch so the knee gaps is equal with the cod gap they will be perfectly balanced. All other gaps look well balanced.

Centurion Suggestions:
In this section we prepare you for Centurion.  More photos are requested that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here.

Well James we are at the other important end of the review, the next step is Centurion, and from what we have seen, you are very close my friend.

The side gaps between Ab and kidney are the only thing visible in your EIB photos that would hold you back.

For level three certification (if applicable):

  • Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor.

Tighten that belt and see if you can get them closed. If not, you have a couple of options like making a small side shim, or like a few Troopers have very successfully done, going on a crash diet :)

Follow the level 3 CRL and review the Photo check list to make sure you post all required images.

Congratulations James, hope to see you in Centurion review soon :jc_doublethumbup:
