(obligatory box photos) I don't plan to document a detailed build here as there are plenty of great builds already. I'll post progress as I have it. I also don't plan to go all out and make it super fancy. I'm really impressed and a little intimidated by the creativity of the builds on here. LOL! white shavings everywhere! Lots of grinding, shaping, sanding, filing. started drilling holes and dry fitting parts, gluing in small posts for support... even superglued my pinky to my hand! Also a metal bar for the scope rail and a PVC pipe scrap for the bolt. The pipe is a tad wide to fit inside the DD. I haven't decided if I'm going to trim it to "make it fit" or try something else. I've incorporated some mods I've seen in other builds. This has been more difficult than I thought it would and I'm a pretty handy guy. I guess it's just working with a new material. Sometimes I think it's a giant mess.... sometimes it's my favorite thing ever! I know it's not perfect or accurate, but I'm definitely trying my best... After finishing mine I had to do something so I built a stand so you see even after you finish there is still more to do! Your DD's looks great keep on building!! I'm now at the stage of "weathering" everything then final assembly. I'm just a little nervous about trying to do the weathering dry brush technique. I thought that image showed a good contrast between what would have been a real metal gun and the plastic t-tracks added onto the prop. If I were to tone anything down a bit, it would be the gold on the counter. By the way, the magazine is designed to go into the mag well just a little bit further. It should go in all the way to the pointed edges on the front and the points on the rear clip. Also, the nuts on the power cylinders are HUGE. Great build, though. Unfortunately I used a super glue type adhesive since I wanted it to be sturdy and now I'm not sure I can remove/fix those things. I guess I could hack off the magazine and completely Dremel out the mag well again and buy a new magazine. Not sure what to do about the end cap.
