New name for Deployement

Recommended Posts

After much discussion, it appears obvious we need to change the term Mark, but we are not clear on what to change it to. That is what this thread is for.

Post your suggestions in this thread, and I will list them in the main topic once a suggestion had two additional nods (in the form of a simple post like "I like White Commando Dragon also"). The naming conventions with at least two supporting posts will be included in a voting poll to follow at the end of the month. This thread will remain open until midnight, August 3rd, and at that time I will create a poll to vote for THE actual naming convention for the FISD.

This thread is for nominations of names only!!

Also keep in mind a name does not need 50 yes posts to be considered, just two additional after the first suggestion. The initial two are from Paul's thread, and the votes to change the name to Cohorts, as well as the multiple "yeas" for Deployed.

If your suggestion also includes references for each specific film, please include that. We are not bound to make any type of reference to which film, however the standards are in place, so I will still ask (if it is not obvious), which standard you are working towards.

Here is the running list of nominations

Veteran (Tantive, Bespin, Endor)

Deployed (ANH, ESB, ROTJ)

FISD (XXX) Deployed (Tantive, Bespin, Endor)

Elite (ANH, ESB, ROTJ)

*****************************

Think about this and let's get this nailed down. Feel free to post multiple options if you have more than one good idea.

I'll change my suggestion to "Veteran", so someone could be deployed as an FISD Veteran.

If later people want to have a movie signifier, it's easily expandable to:

FISD Tantive Veteran

FISD Bespin Veteran

FISD Endor Veteran

This is in keeping with the concept that "deployed" is a verb, or can be used as short hand.

So I've been thinking of how to leverage the convention used for MEPD's Sand Trooper's.

The Sandtrooper of MEPD are "Police officers of Mos Eisley" which are then 'deployed.' Then modifying this theme to TK but adding the complexity of three different movie versions.

Sand troopers example:

Mos Eisley Police Officer which is Deployed

For FISD TK's call them:

Tantive Invasion Force which is FISD ANH Deployed

Cloud City Enforcers which is FISD ESD Deployed

Endor Shield Security which is FISD ROTJ Deployed

So then do we go all the way and create two for the ANH deployed trooper?

Maybe your suggestion for the Stunt variation, and Death Star Infiltration Force, which is FISD ANH Deployed (Hero)?

Just wondering.

No its still one name and a title to go with it.

Reference:

MEPD Police offer (name)

Deployed (title)

Proposal / example:

Tantive Invasion Force (name)

FISD ANH Deployed (title)

Remember this is your chance to voice your opinion on our deployed name...

I like a mixture:

FISD Tantive Deployed

FISD Bespin Deployed

FISD Endor Deployed

Veteran is after your tour of duty, I don't think it fits as well as deployed. Deployed suggests you are primed and ready to go. Also I like the breakdown of films, but could we also add "Death Star Deployed" insted of Tantive.

Just my .02 ;)

What about "Combat Ready" - ANH Combat Ready, etc.

I think veteran makes it seem like "used to be" as opposed to "is now", IMHO.

I also like short and sweet so as not to get too confusing.
