  1. My .02, I have the eFX Stormie, and it is a beautiful helmet. Very sturdy, very heavy, it is wobbly so it differs from the symmetry of the MR CE helmet. The eFx lid is the same as the MR limited edition, except for a cleaner frown paint job and the paperwork/plaque/etc. I placed it side by side with a TE HDPE and although they look similar, the eFx looks a bit bigger and a bit thicker with not as much of a stye. One thing I would not do is troop in it though, but it is very comfortable with its plushy interior to walk around the house and harass the dog Happy Holidays!
  2. I agree, your voice is very calming Great job on the video and review!
  3. I'm always amazed at these interiors. I'm lucky if I can pack my giant head and the lens in mine
  4. Whats the price difference in a flawed kit?
  5. I tried putting them at the vents as suggested above, and I don't know if its the size of my melon or the fact that I have facial hair, but the fans couldn't spin because my face was in the way. I found that down near the chin was a bit better, but not alot of airflow. Always curious if anyone places fans on the top of the bucket facing down.
  6. Wish I had your problem Colin, I have to screw my bucket on and off without the padding
  7. Well you guys are busy, I can appreciate that , so with the help of Ruf: ----- I figured it out. So the grocery list: 2x 12vdc Brushless Mini Fans - $12.99 each 5x AA Battery Boxes - $1.69 each 1x 15w Soldering Iron - $8.99 1x Rocker Switch - $2.99 8x AA Batteries (I forgot, so I have some remotes with no power ) 45' of 18 Gage Wire - $5.99 (didn't need, the wire attached to the battery boxes was enough) They didn't have 3/8" wire tubing at Radio Shack, so I picked up two packs of 5' at AutoZone for $2.98 Following the tutorial above, a little bit of velcro, a dremel, a drill, some electrical tape and a quite house, I got the whole thing built and installed in the lid within 4 hours. Whole project cost me about $65 and was surprisingly easy to do. The toughest part was installing it in the lid with a little style, I gave it a shot so I'll take some photos later.
  8. hey guys, I'm putting together a grocery list for Radio shack, and wanted to get definitively what I need first for a fan system, second for the mic/speaker system. Right now I have an RT bucket, nothing installed. From researching the other threads, this is what I came up with for the fans, please feel free to correct or add anything: 5x Enclosed 2xAA Battery holders, 4 for batteries, one for rocker switch 1x rocker switch (voltage?) Wire (size/type?) Wire Tubing Fans: 2x Brushless/Bearing-less 12v CPU fans or Squirrel Cage 12v fans 1x soldering iron 1x solder (special type?) I'm pretty handy, but have not worked on small electronics, so I'm sure I can do this, just need a little specific help. After I tackle this, I'll start with the sound system, have to get ready for the Clone Wars troop!
  9. looks great, what did you pad the interior with?!
  10. Good luck with it Lou, can't wait to see how it turns out!!
  11. I'm very sorry to hear Scott, my family's thoughts are with you guys. -Rob

  14. Thought I'd bump this from the dead, has anyone seen this? Scoobacca on the rebelscum boards pointed it out, an unreleased Marmit 12" figure, thought it would be helpful for some of you guys hoping to make a spacetrooper backpack Rest of the photos: Marmit Unproduced 12"
  15. Oh, and because people have asked, here is some photos of the whole collection MrVader Star Wars Collection
  16. Thanks for all the insight guys, I took some photos, some on me and some on the mannequin of the questionable areas. Once again this isn't my formal application, so when I am ready to rock all new photos will be taken Also, I'm still working on the breast/back plates and Ab/kidney spacing problems so as soon as I licked those, I'll post some photos. As always, any input would be great, I'm trying to use the Elite Standards as a guide for the photos. FISD ANH Elite Standards - In Progress
  17. Thanks guys, appreciate the input, I knew the sides were going to be a problem, maybe I'll lose a few inches in my waist instead of filling in with white . The butt plate is cut, I guess it does not show well on the photos, but it's good to know that I need better photos of my backside . I also feel that the chest and back are problems, thanks for the idea of the elastic. The buttons I know are the correct color and pattern, but they are the ones that came with the FX armor and thought they were regulation. Give me a few more weeks and I should iron out all these issues, well maybe not the waist but I'm working on it Thanks everyone! PS The clone bucket is on its way sir
  18. OK guys, been a long time coming, but here's the photos from my 501st application. Hoping to hit elite status, any input before I send in the formal request? Mr_Vader 501st Photos
  19. Hey Guys, My neighbor at work husband works in a local costume studio that creats various props for Broadway shows, and also works on the armor of the Star Wars characters at Walt Disney World. I got a chance to tour the factory in June and it was jsut awesome, not only did I get to see the vac-u-form machines and work spaced, but the molds for the various props they've created over the years, including of course the Star Wars ones. Well since he knew I was a bit of a SW geek, he pulled a partial Darth Vader mask for me soon after the visit. It looks awesome, the students like it, I've had it hanging on the wall ever since. Well today I got a bit of a surprise, turns out they had a Stormtrooper order come through so he pulled a partial Stormie helmet for me to display next to Vader. Now it was a quick pull, and definitly not intended to be completed as a helmet, but I thought you'd guys woul'd be interested in taking a look: TE on the Left, RT (work in progress) on the right for scale and comparision
  20. Instead of the pliers I used the base and pin, more or less the same thing but you use a hammer for the install, also about $15 cheaper
  21. What makes you who you are? My family has a profound influence on who I am. My wife and daughter have changed my life in ways that I never thought possible growing up, all for the better of course. What makes you tick? My interests are all over the place, but the ability to teach and work with talented, fun and enthusiastic people all day really helps get me out of bed in the morning, that and of course the mortgage, car payment, credit cards, Sideshow collcetion, etc. What do you do for a living? High School Art Teacher... best job ever! I teach computer graphic design mainly, with a film and animation course once each per school year. Along with my teaching duties, I was assitant swim coach to our Girls Varisty Swim team, I've since retired since our daughter came around and time isn't as available I'm also an adjunct professor of Art Ed at our local SUNY. What other passions do you have? I'm a full blown Star Wars collector, this seems to be my biggest passion as you could tell from my "Star Wars" basement. I'm very into autograph collecting. Every summer (when I'm off...nice) I like to mail photos out to various Star Wars celebrities and have a pretty good response rate. Over the years I've developed quite the collection. I am also very interested in modern culture (movies, music, art), being in a High School all day I'm drowning in it. Teaching these students really keeps my job fresh as each day is never like the rest. Also, a nice, tall frosty pint of Guinness at Friday Happy Hour Other Hobbies and such? Carpentry and household handy man stuff, gardening, Rebelscum trading, Apple computers, and most recenlty... STORMTROOPERS. Married or Not? Happliy married since 2004 to the worlds most understanding wife, she had they make me a Yoda ice sculpture for our coctail hour, custom made Rebel/Imperial cuff links, as well as set up our lightsaber salute for our entrance to our reception. Kids? 1 wonderful, beautiful and incredibly intellegent little girl, she just turned 2 in July. When you ask her "who's your favorite?" she always replies "Yoda!" Also when you ask her "Who's Superman?" she replies "Daddy!" I swear I didn't coach her on that! if I left anything out please fill free to add your own questions. Hey, I'm real happy to be here, thanks for the warm welcome these past couple months everyone!
  22. hey, so as I'm waiting for my RT helmet, I would like to get a head start on the electronics of the helmet, mainly the fans and mic stuff. So far all I have is a pair of SuperTrooper speakers and soon to have Stomper mic tips to put them in. Is there a tutorial anywhere ( I did search here but the threads I've read are for people who know what they are doing ) that helps with the setup and wiring of all this? I know it's easy enough to buy one pre-made, but I like to have a hand in all this stuff. Thanks! PS Sorry for spelling HELMET wrong in the title... a little too quick on the keyboard this afternoon!
  23. Very cool Dave, thanks for sharing, as always very informative to us guys who haven't made it out yet!!
