Scott M.[TK] Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 After much discussion, it appears obvious we need to change the term Mark, but we are not clear on what to change it to. That is what this thread is for. Post your suggestions in this thread, and I will list them in the main topic once a suggestion had two additional nods (in the form of a simple post like "I like White Commando Dragon also"). The naming conventions with at least two supporting posts will be included in a voting poll to follow at the end of the month. This thread will remain open until midnight, August 3rd, and at that time I will create a poll to vote for THE actual naming convention for the FISD. This thread is for nominations of names only!! Also keep in mind a name does not need 50 yes posts to be considered, just two additional after the first suggestion. The initial two are from Paul's thread, and the votes to change the name to Cohorts, as well as the multiple "yeas" for Deployed. If your suggestion also includes references for each specific film, please include that. We are not bound to make any type of reference to which film, however the standards are in place, so I will still ask (if it is not obvious), which standard you are working towards. Here is the running list of nominations Veteran (Tantive, Bespin, Endor) Deployed (ANH, ESB, ROTJ) FISD (XXX) Deployed (Tantive, Bespin, Endor) Elite (ANH, ESB, ROTJ) ***************************** Think about this and let's get this nailed down. Feel free to post multiple options if you have more than one good idea.
Daetrin[Admin] Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 I'll change my suggestion to "Veteran", so someone could be deployed as an FISD Veteran. If later people want to have a movie signifier, it's easily expandable to: FISD Tantive Veteran FISD Bespin Veteran FISD Endor Veteran This is in keeping with the concept that "deployed" is a verb, or can be used as short hand.
Exodus[TK] Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 So I've been thinking of how to leverage the convention used for MEPD's Sand Trooper's. The Sandtrooper of MEPD are "Police officers of Mos Eisley" which are then 'deployed.' Then modifying this theme to TK but adding the complexity of three different movie versions. Sand troopers example: Mos Eisley Police Officer which is Deployed For FISD TK's call them: Tantive Invasion Force which is FISD ANH Deployed Cloud City Enforcers which is FISD ESD Deployed Endor Shield Security which is FISD ROTJ Deployed
Scott M.[TK] Posted July 10, 2007 Author Report Posted July 10, 2007 So I've been thinking of how to leverage the convention used for MEPD's Sand Trooper's. Maybe your suggestion for the Stunt variation, and Death Star Infiltration Force, which is FISD ANH Deployed (Hero)? Just wondering.
Exodus[TK] Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 No its still one name and a title to go with it. Reference: MEPD Police offer (name) Deployed (title) Proposal / example: Tantive Invasion Force (name) FISD ANH Deployed (title)
TK4205 Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 I like short and sweet. ANH Deployed ESB Deployed ROTJ Deployed
TK4999[TK] Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 I like short and sweet. ANH Deployed ESB Deployed ROTJ Deployed I am kind of leaning that way myself...
Scott M.[TK] Posted July 11, 2007 Author Report Posted July 11, 2007 I am kind of leaning that way myself... Me too, but do my votes count???
TK-2126_MD[TK] Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 I'll change my suggestion to "Veteran", so someone could be deployed as an FISD Veteran. I like this one.
Exodus[TK] Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Keep the suggestions coming. Remember this is your chance to voice your opinion on our deployed name...
Mr_Vader Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 I like a mixture: FISD Tantive Deployed FISD Bespin Deployed FISD Endor Deployed Veteran is after your tour of duty, I don't think it fits as well as deployed. Deployed suggests you are primed and ready to go. Also I like the breakdown of films, but could we also add "Death Star Deployed" insted of Tantive. Just my .02
TK-2241 Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 What about "Combat Ready" - ANH Combat Ready, etc. I think veteran makes it seem like "used to be" as opposed to "is now", IMHO. I also like short and sweet so as not to get too confusing.
TK-2126_MD[TK] Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 AHN Imperial Issue ESB Imperial Issue ROTJ Imperial Issue D__n thats lame.... i need to go to sleep
Darksaber212[TK] Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 I like short and sweet. ANH Deployed ESB Deployed ROTJ Deployed Right to the point.
TK:TK Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 "Combat Ready" is growing on me. I like it. It suggests a higher standard of readiness and realism.
steelgrip Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 slthough the "veteran" one is cool too.....aaarrrgh i can't decide(toooo much pressure)i guess i'll just wait for the poll*shrugs*
Daetrin[Admin] Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 I think the poll should be multiple choice.
TK-2126_MD[TK] Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Ya your top 3 or choices.... sounds good. Well concidering that the "Deployed" status dicates the highest standard, top level ( currently) of costuming excellence.... may be AHN Elite ESB Elite ROTJ Elite ???
Dirty White Boy[501st] Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 I do like this. AHN Elite ESB Elite ROTJ Elite I was thinking about adding something about Vader. Like, ANH Vaders Elite, ect. But it sounds to geeky. So yea, I support this idea.
Daetrin[Admin] Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Heck, I like Elite even more than veteran.
TK-2126_MD[TK] Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Dont know if this got edited because of the side talk it generated, because i was not clear or what but here goes again. AHN Legionarius ESB Legionarius ROTJ Legionarius Or AHN Legionary ESB Legionary ROTJ Legionary
