  1. My name is Josh... I'm a Star Wars-aholic... I've been with the 501st since 2022 as a Revenge of the Sith Darth Vader. I've currently got 3 costumes in various stages of completion (hence the "aholic" moniker) above... TK, Tank Trooper, and Imperial Officer. I'm finally getting the ability to put together my ANH Stunt starting in February at an armor party. I've got a second hand Walt's kit that never got beyond some very minimal initial trimming, so everything is still mostly in its untrimmed form. I've been following the WTF ANH Stunt Build thread and I've got about everything except for some of the soft parts (strapping, velcro, etc.) that I will be procuring this weekend (my daughter gets an employee discount at JoAnn's... YEAH!). I'm looking forward to another lovely costume that it's difficult to see and sit in !! ...sitting, yeah, that is what the Imperial Officer costume is for... lol!
  2. (Please bear with me as I update and reorganize - it is a TON of additional work to document... a ton of work! I decided to commit to a more thorough build guide if it helps people, but wanted to get some work done and a framework set up before inviting comments. I will be continually editing the original posts as well as adding, then linking in the OP, more information as I go. Thank you!) Sections, Navigation & Check List: Helmet Options Discussion a. 5. Thanks for the feedback! Ok, so after doing a SithTrooper build from scratch ( completed and approved for the 501st) I was excited to diveo into the Imperial Commando. Did a LOT of research since there is no CRL and the resources/info even back in December were very minimal. I gathered the online reference and added a lot more for my own benefit, as I intend to be 501st approved once it's completed. I the absence of a CRL, I wanted to be screen accurate. Yu can find the whole screen capture reference I have made in the reference section of the imperial commando ( external document link). So first was clearing out the toughest parts of the build, the parts that are outside of my skill set . So I ordered the soft parts as follow, based on the research I have made to be as close as possible to screen reference: - Boots from Crowprops. The imperial commando as basically FOTK boots with added sewing. (Keeptrooping has them as well). I did ask Giovanni to add more foam to the top sections, which he did a fantastic job - Gloves from Crowprops ( only shop that has them, but from picture reference, these are easy to procure, as they are leather gloves with long sleeve, like some of the mando). Long sleeves are crucial so that they do not come out when trooping (from experience). - Suit from Keeptrooping. The suit is generic, not tailored like Sheev’s but I wanted to have one readily available. I did order one from Sheev’s... it will take longer to arrive but with better fit. My girlfriend did have to make adjustments to make it fit properly, along with moving/adding velcros at the right place to fit my buddy. Up to you, a bit cheaper and quicker with Keeptrooping, but expect to go to the tailor to get it right. - Belt and holster by me (my girlfriend). Belt is made out of white cotton with low density filler inside. The screen accurate material is thick white leather for holster/holster straps. The belt is cotton stitched with 5 rows. I found both the cotton and filler at a local fabric store, nothing fancy. - ABS are made out of urethane foam rubber, as it is visible that the part is flexible in the screen reference and it was later confirmed on the build FB page that this is indeed the material they now used. I used Smooth-on TUFF STUFF 15, as it is very robust and made for cosplay/props. - 3D printed parts are made out of PLA+ material and printed on either of my 3 Anycubic printers (2 are Kobra Max 2, 1 is a viper). I would highly recommend a large printer to do the big parts in one step, otherwise you will spend way too much time trying to cut parts and bond them afterward. For trooping, you will need to reinforce them substantially. Anycubic Kobra 2 Max is cheap and does a perfect job for all the parts. My general setting were 20% grid inflill, 3 layers, 0.2mm layers (0.1 for detailed tinny parts) Paints and coatings - Paints, I used mostly rustoleum paints, you can see them on the picture. Use ONLY flat paint when possible, NEVER use gloss paint when planning on having a gloss finish over it…you're running into trouble. So flat white and white primer under it (not shown). Grey primer for most of the parts, charcoal grey for the helmet front and one of the square on the chest plate. I used airbrush Vallejo game color 72.012 scarlet red for the red parts. Flat black for all black parts. -Airbrush paints. For metallic parts, I used Vallejo aluminum (silver like parts) and dark aluminum (steel like parts- gun base coat). For gun top paint and weathering, I used the Vallejo model air black. I took a picture of the other stuff required to airbrush easily. - Clear coats. I used rustoleum satin finish for grey/black/red parts (finish is good enough for these. For the gloss white, I used high end SprayMax 2K clear glamor, more expensive but you get car finish quality. This is one area you don’t want to cheap on… so easy to ruin a part with runout and orange peel finish. This one does a perfect gloss with some practice. I used 3 cans for the armor. Finishing My technique for finishing the 3D print is the one most people will use (everyone has his own recipe, but this one I found is the most efficient and bringing you perfect finish, so are my other teammates… after doing a Sith trooper gloss armor from top to bottom, I have several hundred hours of finishing :). So Sand the raw print with 60 grit/200grit to remove all protruding plastic and bringing to only depressions on the surface. Then Bondo+acetone (3:1 ratio) with paint brush. Then sand down with 200 grit almost to plastic, then the depressions are all filled. Then Rustoleum filler primer, sand down with 400 grit. A second pass is normally needed for gloss sections. Then paint . For gloss sections, a quick 1000 grit+water to remove paint build ups , then clear coat. 3D modeling For the armor, I reviewed several sources and ended up procuring both Galactic armory and Big Fred's custom designs. I started with galactic armory without too much attention to details, but after printing the helmet, I realized it was not as accurate as I would like to (see side by side pictures of the two printed helmets) I decided to switch to Big Fred's (grey one). I printed all the parts in all the pieces separately when required for screen accuracy and ease of printing with details. I chatted with Zach from Big Fred's and he knows his models are not perfect, but at this time he has not been able to find time to adjust them. So I decided to do it on my own. Honestly, the helmet is perfect, no change there. For the other parts, I will note when I made tweaks. So, I used ArmorSmith, 3Dbuilder, Blender, Solidworks to scale/ edit / create modified parts based on Big Fred's files. Scaling is of course necessary, not only to be comfortable, but also to maintain the screen relative reference Armorsmith is a must, I did my first build without it and ended up redoing the armor more than 2x… worth the 30$ believe me. Below a snapshot of the parts on my avatar (not that chubby, it’s the sizing with the suit on me 😊 ) Jetpack design and adjustment/ fitting to the back armor The biggest one I have seen is the jetpack, the details are all there, but proportions were not screen accurate ( to my interpretation of it). Most of it is just scaling the jetpack components to make the details thicker and increasing the central portion to protrude from the side components. Below is one of the 3D model available on the market fitted on the armor. The current 3D models do not hide the attachment mechanism, due to the curved armor back and the flat jetpack rear. Typical Mandalorian jetpack have a curve or staggering of the jetpack in some instances. In the screen reference, the jetpack has a visible recessed to hide/ embed the attachment points and bring the jetpack in close contact with the armor. A recessed area must be present to have the general screen accuracy. With this recess, this enables the back to be in close proximity as per the movie reference. Below is a modified version and better fit to armor. So to do this, I had to redo large portions of the jetpack 3D model, to include a recess portion, while maintaining the internal cavity for lighting. It was a long iterative process on solidworks/3Dbuilder, but result was much nicer and screen accurate. The jetpack should also be scaled so that the reactors do not exceed the bottom of the chest armor per reference and the top of the jetpack does not exceed the wearer’s top of collar armor. The width of the jetpack should be approximately the same size as the width of the chest armor, although it is seen sometimes larger in the screen reference. So I scaled it properly to fit correctly, but this screws up with attachment points on the back, So I had to redo all of these, downloading files from JJ industries to correct. I made new 3D models to be able to 3D print, as the jj industries are designed to be metal. I used 70% fill PETG for these attachments. As for the jetpack itself, the details on it need to be to scaled and adjusted. For Big Fred, I had to do several modifications on it to be correctly proportional. The central reactor had to be increased in size (originally the same thickness as the side reactors). Also, all the features on the main side were not thick enough. Same for the wing tip, they are way too thin and fragile to be used for trooping. I made them thicker and re-enforced them with a 90deg plate from the inside. To make sure that the jetpack will fit to the main chest armor, I also made another part, on the internal side that can be customized for proper spacing of the anchoring points ( otherwise the jetpack need to be scaled with the chest armor and nothing will fit anymore, not even the JJ industries anchoring. Talking of JJ industries, they have very good material. On my side, I didn’t to pay a 100$ for the anchoring, so I made some custom ones, that are size compatible with the JJ, because the chest armor is designed for them, so you’re kind of stuck with them. I painted those with dark aluminum finish. I printed the jetpack in one piece (except for all the grey and black parts that are separate components from screen reference (also way easier to paint). I added magnets on bottom reactor to be able to access easily the electronics. Top reactor is snug fit enough not requiring additional fixturing. For the top red light, I used transparent PETG. I redesigned it as it was too thick to be able to 3D print with clarity with 3-4 layers 100% density. Needed a lot of sanding down to a 1000, then a clearcoat over the top surface. I left the interior raw printed and clearcoat to have the diffusion effect on the LEDs. Will continue later with other parts!
  6. The goal is to get this CRL complete as it's never been done before. I've asked Ingrid Moon (LadyInWhite) and Misty Melillo to lead this. Along with Teresa, Jana, Molly and several others, this is what they have so far. Yes, this is the TFA as the base and I'll make changes based on what they have posted in their GoogleDoc as updates, but wanted to get the base post started. NOTES: 1. This first post will always be the master list. Any agreed upon changes will be reflected here. 2. I will cite any change, e.g. [TFAL2] as something that is copied from the TFA L2, or [Ingrid] as an Ingrid change. 3. Goal is to have this 100% complete by the end of the year. 7. For the general CRL info, I would propose a slightly different name to distinguish from the animated series, like Wookieepedia already describes: Description: Imperial armored commando, The Mandalorian Prefix: TK Detachment: First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment Context: Star Wars the Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 23 & 24 Under the leadership of Moff Gideon, a new class of elite soldier has been trained and equipped with advanced weaponry. Highly trained in the use of multiple lethal weapons and equipped with beskar armor and Mandalorian weaponry, makes him a formidable adversary. For general construction notes, I would mention the following, as the armor can be made out of 3D printed, resin, vacuum formed parts. - All components should closely match the Imperial Armored Commando from the Mandalorian season 3 episodes 23 & 24. - All Armor is constructed from a rigid material such as PLA, PETG, ABS, fiberglass, plastic, resin, Sintra, vacuum-formed ABS, firm rubber, metal, or similar, unless specified otherwise in section below - Armor has the appearance of thickness and depth.
  8. Ran across this in my research travels, an interesting read Imperial Sourcebook The Imperial Sourcebook, written by Greg Gorden, was released in October 1989 as part of the West End Games Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. Includes all the game statistics needed to use the might of the Empire in the roleplaying game. 144-page book features: Illustrations, photographs, maps and diagrams--some never published before! A look at the Imperial power structure since the Battle of Yavin, concentrating on the time period between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. 14. Hi all. One of the happiest days of may life came recently when, on one of my own troops, my then 8yo daughter dropped in on me and, seeing other local 501st members’ children in costume, said she wanted TK armour to match mine. She is 130cm tall, about 4'3". This thread follows my efforts to finish the build before her birthday, which fell precisely on halloween. Although the build is retrospective, I’ll post the actual dates to give a sense of the timeline. It took me 2 years start-to-finish to build my ANH Stunt armour. I did hers in about 2 months. While trying to emulate Centurion-level armour wherever possible, I made a lot of special modifications myself to make it more comfortable for her and encourage her to troop. Hope it may be useful to anyone planning a similar project. Need Help Ask the Deployment Officers Advance to 1500 Advanced Tactics Awards Newsletter Editor Staff List 2024 Follow FISD From our legion founder, Albin Johnson (TK-210) It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of TK/TD124, the legendary George "Old Sarge Oberon" of Garrison Carida. The oldest active Stormtrooper in the Legion, Sarge was there at the very beginning of Vader's Fist. His list of troops reads like a history book of the club. For decades he could be found at all the biggest Legion events, always in armor and always working the booth or a droid hunt or just on patrol. But always with a grin and a kind word for everyone. The 501st did not have a flashy start. It took volunteers doing hard work at events that no one had heard of. But Sarge was there, laying the very foundation blocks of the Empire. He was even at one of the earliest commanders' meetings. His advice was practical, even-handed. He wasn't there to impress. He was always there to serve. Most of all, he was a good friend. Whenever we met in our years of Star Wars adventures, he'd pat me on the back and tell me what a great time he was having. It is no exaggeration to say he was the epitome of the Legion spirit. I wish all the new kids in the Legion could know what a goat really is - Oberon was it. He was legend. I'm honored to have known him. Rest well, Sarge. Your patrol is done. May we always live up to your example. To learn more about the man and his exploits, check out this lovely page made in his honor: https://www.legionxxiv.org/trooper124/ Condolences to his family, friends and garrison "Buckets Off" Carl Weathers, forever a member of the Lucasfilm family, past away on 1st February 2024, he was 76. With the launch of The Mandalorian on Disney+, Weathers joined the galaxy far, far away as Greef Karga — an expeditor for the Bounty Hunter Guild who rises to become Magistrate of Nevarro, and ally to the Mandalorian and Grogu. He would receive an Emmy Award nomination for his efforts. In addition, Weathers stepped into the director’s chair for the critically-acclaimed episodes “Chapter 12: The Siege” and “Chapter 20: The Foundling." We’ll miss you, Carl. Be at peace. Condolences to his family, friends and the whole Star Wars community "Buckets Off" Greetings fellow members Elections are in full swing and once again FISD has come through them with no opposition although this time with a difference. It has been an absolute pleasure and a total honour to have been the commanding officer of this fine detachment for the last 4 years. In that time we brought the FISD forums into the new age with a huge amount of effort from all the staff. We worked diligently to make sure this was a friendly detachment for everyone, not just those inspired to join the 501st. That is important because ultimately, we want everyone to make their Stormtrooper dreams become a reality. We brought new sections, new colours and new reasons to want to be a member here with working to enlist costumes that were not only exciting but not all hard armour for FISD. We brought us closer to other detachments and now our relationship with them is better than its ever been. You can see our list of the work we achieved in my post here . In closing out on this chapter for my tenure as Detachment leader of FISD, I would like to wholeheartedly thank all the members that make this place as good as it can be every day. To the staff who believed in my visions, to not only support them but exceed all expectations, and embody our unofficial motto of Troopers helping troopers in everything they do. We are in very good hands with our new leader Joseph, who not only understands the importance of this magnificent collection of research and incredible encyclopaedia of Storm trooper knowledge, but also lives the motto and understands how important you all are at keeping this forum alive and well. I will still be around, although taking a background role in maintaining the forums and assisting Joseph in creating whatever he requires to continue revitalising our forums and keeping us relevant for new comers and old. Once again, thank you for your support over these years, thank you for supporting the team and also in continuing that supporting Joseph and the new additions to the FISD staff. On behalf of staff, members and the whole community we give thanks to you for steering the ship for 4 long years, for all your hard work, your confidence, support and guidance, your passion is unquestionable and your dedication is beyond reproach. Very few can even imagine the time and effort you have put in to the role and the rest you are now facing is well deserved. Undoubtedly you have made a big impact on a lot of our community, you leave a great legacy and you will always be remembered and admired. From your detachment, we salute you If you would to read more of what work was undertaken and completed over those 4 years head to this thread Greetings Fellow Troopers First off, let me thank you for being so supportive of me and the merchandise runs these past 2 years. I hope that I have provided quality products and service to all. With @justjoseph63 winning the election for DL here at FISD I'm very happy to announce that I will be staying on for another term as FISD's MBO. Recently Legion had a vote and passed some very comprehensive and streamlined rule changes on Merchandise and Branding (you can read about them here) which will change the way we do some of our standard merch. I am in talks with our new leader about merch for this term, and hopefully will have a plan that we can share to everyone before the March Newsletter. Let me tell you, I'm excited about some of the ideas that he has presented to me and I'm looking forward to sharing them with the troopers! Old Business The first annual Detachment Merchandise & Branding Officer End of year merch sale was a hit. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough items to cover everyone that wanted something. I hope to do this again next year and have already ordered a few extra items. You can read updates here. 1st Annual DMBO Merch Sale No new news on the #SecretMerch Item. The factory in China has been closed for the observation of Chinese New Year. Pfab tells me that he expects to have an update in the next week. but still believes that coins will be shipped early March. So We'll keep and eye on that. Secret Merch Item The shield patch run is complete and all patches have been mailed. Thank you to everyone for your understanding with some of the delay in shipping. I can't wait to see some folks post up their patch jackets, shirts, and other uses for their patches. Wear them with pride my fellow troopers. Here is where my first small patch went. 2023 Patch Run The Rocker run is closed. @MaskedVengeance has started sending payment request for these orders and will be placing the order soon, so hopefully they will be in your hands in the next 6 - 8 weeks. I'm very jealous of those that can wear these. I'm working on building my new AM kit to EI standard so that I can help "Advance to 1500". Rocker patches. New Business We were able to get two more items approved for the end of term. The first being the reissuing of the 501st Legion Stormtrooper banner patch. We reissued it in the standard red and black Legion color scheme that it was original issued in on it's first run and opened it to the legion. In addition, we added a version that is more closely aligned to our Detachment color palette, it is blue and white and exclusively for FISD members. This run is open until 24 FEB 2024 so please be sure to get your orders in. Stormtrooper Banner Patch Please remember to take time to check out your local, Legion and detachment elections. Participation in these helps guide the direction of these units. If you have any thoughts, suggestions, comments or concerns about FISD Merch or Branding, my "virtual" door is always open. Hit me up, you can reach me via email, forum DM, or find me on Facebook. Here is to another year of great FISD merch! 16. Try Imperial Warfighters, see if they can help you out. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063820369262 I thought they'd closed doors, but apparently I misremembered.
  17. I’m looking to build my own cloth gaskets for my build. I have a sewing machine and I’m pretty good with it. I just don’t know where to buy the piping material to make it. How thick is the piping supposed to be ?
  18. So i started sewing it but running into bunching issues and not getting the spacing i wanted with it correctly so I changed it up. after i sewed up the first couple lines it created a nice flare I'm going to use to tuck in the forearm pieces and took the cord and apply a nice thin layer of fabric glue and lay the cording over it and just wrap. Place more glue down and wrap and repeat but this way there is no breaks in the cording that is wrapped around the shirt. I am using a neck pillow wrapped with some newspaper on the inside (newspaper is so I don't ruin the neck pillow, my wife would kill me lmao). I use the neck pillow for a nice snug fit. I do sections at a time, about 4-6 inch sections. Wait for the glue to dry, then shimmy adjust the paper and glue and wrap. I also plan to sew along the seam lines and opposite of the seam lines to create a nice stable sewn structure as well for it so it shouldn't come undone. This will minimize sewing and hold it all together. That's the plan anyway. I've spent about 20$ on these gaskets so far. It is rather time consuming but i watch some tv while doing it. I'm loving the way its turning out, the ridges are nice and defined and its made of cloth so i wont die out in the AZ heat. I will keep sharing as I go. I will also continue to post results as I go and I'm taking pictures of my full First order build from 850 armor works so i can post my steps for others along the way as well.
  19. Yes sir! I found it best, when first getting started, to follow in the footsteps of those before me. Joseph's soft parts list in this thread is a great place to start. My white canvas belt came from Kittell (Imperial Issue), holster from Darman and boots from Imperial Boots (now known as Keep Trooping after their name change).
  20. I definitely like this solution. I've been experimenting a bunch lately to make cloth gaskets (getting ready for summer) that are integrated into a spandex top I can just pull on. (same with knees). I am trying to make thin neoprene behave but my sewing machine is having issues and my sewing skills are such that it is not so easy. Being able to loop around and not have to fashion the "tubes" would be helpful. Great idea. Please post your results!

As we begin to close out on this term, a reminder to all that the Legion election cycle will begin on the 29th of January and conclude with the close of voting on February 13th. Full Election cycle details can be found further down in this edition. Our DMBO officer TK-12953 (James) has done an outstanding job this term in brining some beautiful merch items to you all, but wait, there is more to come, so better get those imperial credits ready because he hasn't finished yet!! That's right, more excitement coming soon, just in case you haven't had your fill yet. Small CRL Update The Rogue One TK and associated costumes (Artillery Trooper and soon to be Night trooper), have just undergone a small update at basic level. This update was made to allow the 2 major versions of the ammo belt worn, as seen in both the movie and TV series. The changes are as follows. The R1 belt has a front and rear plastic section. The CRL asked that these were overlapped on the sides a specific way. On screen, we see it overlapped front over back and back over front, so now the CRL simply states it is overlapped on the sides. You chose which way to overlap it. The belt overlaps on the sides The second small change was to allow the lower lip of the belt to be trimmed, as per many screen references. Some were trimmed and some were not, but both are seen as commonly as each other. The bottom edge of the front belt may run flat across the belt, or may be trimmed at an angle near the cod armor to match screen references. Some screen references showing the different trimming of this lower lip. No trimming Trimmed That's the update for January, see you all again in the final addition for the term. I don't have any additional information to share at this time. If I get word about shipping dates or anything, I will update the thread here: Secret Merch Item As of December 29th, the patches have been completed by the factory and are undergoing QC. I'm eagerly awaiting their arrival at my home so I can begin sorting, packing and shipping to membership. Hopefully by the time the newsletter is published, they will have started shipping to members. With the Legion year coming to a close, I have created the first annual DMBO (Detachment Merchandise & Branding Officer) End of year merch sale. I have collected some extra items and am looking to sell them to fund buying extra items for next year. Normally I buy a few extra items during each merch run in order to offer them to new members, but as I didn't get many request this year, it is time to sell these off. You can learn more about the sale here: 1st Annual DMBO Merch Sale We have two more Merch Items in the works for this legion year. I will post more information about them soon as I have approval from LMBO and LFL. Unfortunately, they will be short runs, as they have to be completed before the end of Feb. So please be checking the forum regularly, and if you have not setup to follow the Detachment Merchandise sections to get email alerts for new post, I suggest that you do so. If you have any thoughts, suggestions, comments or concerns about FISD Merch or Branding, my "virtual" door is always open. Hit me up, you can reach via email, forum DM, or find me on Facebook. With Unquestioned Loyalty James Silvius TK-12953 "jsilvius" Merchandise & Branding Officer With elections starting at the beginning of February it's time to check your detachment affiliation. OK so you look at your Legion profile and it shows that your detachment affiliation to FISD is pending, or otherwise incorrect. Why does this happen, and what is detachment affiliation anyway, and what will FISD do about it? The answer is that detachment affiliation is only ever used once a year, and for one purpose. The only time the Legion ever uses it for anything is to determine who can run for DL and who can vote in detachment elections. That's it. Otherwise it is pretty much ignored and not used for anything. The process of validating detachment membership is cumbersome and time consuming because people use different email information between their Legion and detachment logins, and that there is no way to bulk update the rosters. For a small detachment it is not a big deal to do this manually, but for a detachment the size of FISD with hundreds and soon thousands of 501st members, it's impossible. Fortunately we have technical folk both on FISD and in the Legion web team. Once a year they take a feed from FISD's database and do a bulk update on the Legion database. This occurs right before the election cycle starts and is done once per year. Pro tips: 1) Ensure the email address you use on the Legion & FISD boards are the exact same. 2) Ensure that your FISD profile has the correct TKID. 3) IMPORTANT! You MUST be in the right security group. It should be "501st Stormtrooper" in order for the automated system to pull you over. This thread is where you get your detachment access updated. 4) If after the bulk update is complete and your profile is still not updated, and you are 100% sure your info is in sync between the two boards, then ask for to the Legion web team. They should get feedback on why this isn't working. 5) If all else fails, ping the FISD staff. Which basically means that we'll simply tell the 501st web team to bulk approve everyone 6) If still you have no luck you can contact the legion web team directly via email: lwm@501st.com To check detachment affiliation go to the 501st holocron here, login using your 501st forum username and password, click on YOUR PROFILE DATA, then look down the lower part of the page for YOUR UNIT AFFILIATION, then under DETACHMENT AFFILIATION. If you do not see FISD listed reach out to your GML (garrison membership liaison) as they can add it if you are an approved Stormtrooper. If FISD shows as PENDING contact our DL @Sly11 and request a manual update. 2024 Legion Election Timeline It's coming up to that time of the year again, legion elections are just around the corner. 22. If I could suggest a couple of things you could tweak for EI, (or disregard, after all I'm no DO). You could centralise your thighs at the knees, I had similar issues when using fabric gaskets, I finally ended up adding a stiffening piece of foam inside the gaskets which takes up the slack and keeps thighs and shins better aligned. Even a small block of foam on the outer sides of the thighs would pull them over. You can see on the rear image how the thighs pull the fabric gaskets to the insides. Not sure if you can reduce the circumference of your spats as there is an opening on the rear and you can see the grooves. I know the DO's have mentioned wrinkling around the shorts on an EI application previously. Also you could adjust forearm to glove spacing to match. I also noticed the angle of you posterior, front corners appear to be under the belt and pushing the belt upwards at the back

  24. It seems that our favored Uniform/Armor project is suffering from an actual name. While this Detachment has (correctly) named this armor the Imperial Commando, I feel an upgrade is in order, simply for the fact that there is already an "Imperial Commando" world (a little Google Fu showed a much different looking trooper). So howzabout an upgrade? Wookiepedia already shows "Imperial Armored Commando", with very limited information and some photos. There are also titles of "Imperial Mandalorian Commando" (or similar) floating around as well. My vote is for Imperial Armored Commando. During their first encounter with Moff Gideon's Finest, someone in DJ's group hollers out "they're wearing Beskar!" or something similar. For that reason, I think the IAC name fits. The Imperial Commandos have their world, now we have ours! What are your thoughts?
  25. Fabric gaskets ftw in many scenarios: lighter, more flexible, and from more than a few feet away most fans don't notice. I wonder what the Disney folks do, does anyone know?
