  1. "Galactic Embassies" sounds nice! I guess for each forum, something like "Help in ..." in their own language would suffice. For example, in Spanish it would be "Ayuda en español". Or maybe "Spanish forum" which would be "Foro en español" (in Spanish we don't capitalize languages names.) As you see fit Paul.
  2. Vern, it's not just a problem of 1-to-1 translation of the forum contents or the forum's interface. It's more about filling that cultural gap that maybe today is preventing people with a poor understanding of English geting EIB status. It will not be a full duplication of the actual forums in another language, but rather just a single forum for non-English speakers to get help in their own language. I'm pretty sure it can be useful and that it may encourage many people in garrisons around the world to improve their armor and get a better knowledge about this hobby.
  3. Thanks for the official support Javi! I'm pretty sure we can help with that too! LOL
  4. If for some reason you can't get a TE2, get an ATA.
  5. Exactly! Troopers helping troopers.
  6. Hi, I was wondering if there could be a Cultural Exchange section at the FISD with forums in other languages. Right off the bat I'm thinking about German, French and Spanish, but others could be added if troopers or Garrisons ask for it. The idea would be for one forum in your native language (if your native language is different from English) where we could guide troopers without English knowledge to threads and resources, and explain or translate some of the invaluable info that's available here. I believe it could help encourage a lot of troopers to get into the FISD and reach EIB status. I know a lot of people in my garrison could reach EIB status if they feel encouraged to do so and have info in their own language. And the FISD is the best place to find information about all things TK! Anyway, I've asked the leaders of my garrison if they want to make a more formal approach. I hope you like the idea. Cheers.
  7. I have the feeling that next week there'll be one EIB more (and the second for the Spanish Garrison)
  8. Yup! I initially used the 4th one: But I'll re-do it using this one. Bear in mind that the blaster will probably be left outside of the frame (and by that I mean it won't be visible, and not the "effect" I used on the pic above.) Cheers.
  9. Wow! great job Tim! Note taken and working on it.
  10. Great work Mauricio! Do you have a preference on any of the pictures for your EIB profile when you're accepted? Cheers.
  11. Hi Mauricio. You have a tutorial right here. Hope it helps. If not, just let me know. Cheers.
  12. Matt, just troopers helping troopers! I'm glad you'll be back in armor soon.
  13. Wow! Great news!
  14. Oh Matt! That really makes me sad an angry. I'm really sorry. Please, don't leave the FISD. I'm sure there's a lot of people around here that can help.
  15. And you're right in doing that!
  16. Congrats Valentin! Great work trooper!
  17. Yep. They sure get some attention from people. I wonder how a lot of people notice them, or SFP for that matter, but Lucas lawyers seem to miss them... I still think eBay's not the best place to buy/sell armor (on a scale I mean, if you have a store there.) Too public. For personal sales it's OK. Also, I thought eBay had some policies about IP breaching products. How come those stores are not taken down?
  18. Wow! Great job Rob!
  19. Welcome back Jim! It's nice to see you around here again. Cheers.
  20. TK brothers, TK-7388, fresh from the Imperial Academy, requests 501st access. http://www.501stlegion.org/members/displaymember.php?userID=11780&costumeID=124
  21. Well, I used my SDS (acrylic capped ABS) with my AP armor for my 501st application. There's not much difference really. If the ABS TM use is similar to the one used by SDS, then there'll be no problem. Cheers.
  22. Pretty much what Tim said. In Spain, at least, Novus is difficult to get, even on Harley Davidson stores. So other options could be other plastic polish, specially for modelers (I believe Tamiya has one) or a mild, water based car polish cream. For example, anything that can be used to polish a guitar may be used for your armor. Cheers.
  23. Don't worry Paul, I'm pretty sure it's due to a script-blocking software at my company (Finjan Web Security). What I'm seeing is the fall-back mechanism, that is working pretty well, indeed! Thanks a lot!
  24. I have a full ABS AP armor. I love it, with all it's flaws. I wouldn't dare with a HIPS armor here in Spain, as we don't have as good paints as the ones in US (no Rustoleum or anything near.) So I guess ABS is more practical for me. Just cut, glue and use.
  25. Well, I had an idea and sneaked Chrome Portable on my machine. It worked (to my surprise, as Firefox Portable was unable to grab the resources and permissions to surf,) and I experienced the same limitations, so it looks like it must be some kind of script blocking. ...I need to remember to keep a link to a message, so I can get to my PMs from there. Cheers.
