TK3390 Requesting Deployment.[36][FX]
Ciscotiger replied to Ciscotiger's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Thanks Bernard, Spug took the pics when I was trooping at a Star Wars theme Luau party this past weekend. If better pics are needed, let me know. I can never get them just right without a little mishap. It'll just take me a month to get anything done though.... Here we go , still looking for a MR E-11 at a "reasonable" price, but here is my Hasbro for now. Thx guys! -

Rom FX and Stomper Speaker Hovies
Ciscotiger replied to trooper1's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Hello Trooper1, When you wire the speakers in series, it becomes 8 ohms, half the watt to parallel wiring. Parallal wire it will give you 4 ohms and more wattage, that'll give you more power. Having the speakers hooked neg. to pos. & visa versa will cause "out of phase" sound, may cause some distortion at high volume, so check your wiring. I used 6 AA batteries for my voice amp. Makes the helmet heavy and uncomfortable for all day trooping. But I get a lot of feedback when volume is turned up at full volume. The most I get is 3/4 volume up and the sound range with Stompers hovis is about slightly higher than "normal" speaking volume. If you want more sound, you have to get bigger speakers mounted onto your chest plate. Hope that helps. Good luck! -
That was my one and only good laugh for the day!!! Thx Amish Trooper!

Cleared to Join The Ranks
Ciscotiger replied to Julianhuey's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Congrats in getting clearance, looking very good for Elite! -
It'll fit you. I'm about 5'11", 200 lbs. As for the helmet, your head size may matter, I fit a 7 1/4 to 7 1/2 hat size. The helmet is smaller, you put it on side ways and turned to the front. The helmet rubs against my ears putting on, but no probs after that. If your hat size is bigger than mine, you may have an issue, but dremeling the opening bigger is always an option too.

Progress I've made on my armor!
Ciscotiger replied to Naglium's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Good job so far, Naglium, you're on the rigt track. For the shoulder bell, I used the extra length (1 1/2 wide nylon canvass) from my suspenders and sewed it on. The bells never flop around. -
Congratulations and looking forward to the new year!

Thanks Ed!!! Hope you beat that flu bug soon!

My own home-made TK vox system...
Ciscotiger replied to John's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Thanks John for this tutorial. Where are your fans from? Mines are very noise when on and can not hear when on. -
Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith- dark, gritty, great story, A New Hope- Great SciFi story and best special effects for that time. Return of the Jedi- it was great for me until the Ewoks took out the stormtroopers, c'mon now... then its episode 2 and 1.

Pretty cool, great pose! -
Type up "Cold Gear" and you'll get a big selection from different brands. Have you considered the two piece which is better for changing and making nature calls, especially when you need to go. The ONE piece, you have to take off so much armor before you can make the pit stop vesus the two piece is so much more efficient when you cut the front ab piece at the belt line. I have "Under Armor" but I also have "T3K". A lot of guys I know in hockey use "T3K" and it is great, just as good as "Under Armor" in my opinion. And cost less in comparison, usually you can pick up on ebay, hockey stores or their direct site. They have cold gear for the Winter (look for "Compression" inwhich neoprene is added) and the other is without. Good luck

Happy B-Day Bernard!!! Now go climb that mountain and make poor Kat drive in the picth black again.... LOL

I think a lot of people leave the depth as is. My AP helmet, I placed a thick foam(about 1 1/4") in the top/front of the helmet to keep my eyes from being pressed to the lens. I think the helmet look better without it being trimmed down. If the thickness of the lens is an issue, I bought my lens from ebay(not endorsing this website), which fitted very nicely without much openings between the helmet and lens. The AP does not allow much room, not like the FX. Additionally, I also added some foam (3/4") to the back and sides to keep my head snug in place. Just remember, the snugger it is, the hotter or sweatier it gets. Another adjustment yo may want to try is placing a hard hat liner.

What's up Kevin , I'm over at Campbell. I just started too, and have talked to other members close by about building my armor. There is no set place for meetings, just whoever like to offer their home as a workshop and just bump ideas. I'm usually good for weekends, and can set up a place if more troopers are interested in a workshop. Do you have your armor already? FYI: The GGG- Golden Gate Garrison is also where you want to sign up to introduce yourself, if you did not already for this region.

Thanks guys for making this happen!!! Paypal sent. Happy Veterans Day! Still waiting to be accepted with an official TK, hopefully not much longer to join the ranks. God Bless the 501st.

Bro, that is one great paint job. I painted mine and it didn't even come close looking that great. But I'm going try your method with the Ultra Sheen Gloss with my AP helmet, see if it even comes close. BTW, did you apply to the Golden Gate Garrison yet? I put in my app a couple of weeks ago...no word yet. Anyway, back to the garage/workshop...

Closing side gap on AP armor
Ciscotiger replied to Bigturc's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I got the idea from Scott M. about the trash can. I got my trash can at Target, very affordable and easy to cut out. I had no discomfort or flexibility problem; only used velcro for easy on/off. I think it looks best in comparison to vinyl. -
Hang in there Bro!!! Best of luck in your job hunting!

Thanks Army Scout, just want to concur, my album control is working again!!!

TK3390 Requesting Deployment.[36][FX]
Ciscotiger replied to Ciscotiger's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hello Paul, I put in my app in July as a new applicant, but I did not know there was another step to take to get the TK#. The menu for the TK# I saw was in the "My Controls". Was there another way to input a TK#? If you can set me up with my TK#, that'll be great!!! -
Hello, Any status? Just want to work on my album. Thanks
