  1. I had to have E6000 under the end of the elastic as well as over the top sealing it to the plastic. This was on the end cap on my TD so YMMV. Didn't look like just putting the glue under the end of the strap would hold it over the long term though.
  2. I think FX is the only make with a fused kidney and butt plate.
  3. You came to the right place to buy and build your own armor, but I think you will be very hard pressed to find anyone that rents their suit out. As I'm sure you've seen, people put a lot of time and money into their suits and I don't think they would let just anyone borrow them.
  4. Very cool! And just in time for Halloween.
  5. If you're really pressed for time/money you can check Walmart's camping section for table cloth clasps. They're fairly easy to bend into the right shape.
  6. Looks like the paint went on pretty thick, try multiple lighter coats next time. I'd do like Mason suggested and wait for it to dry before trying to scrape it off.
  7. Some people also use pinstriping tape to get the black outline around the ears.
  8. From the troopers I tried, only Paul's picture did not come up. Are there others that don't show up for you?
  9. Funny how "weird" the mirrored helmet pictures look.
  10. HIPS is high impact polystyrene - a type of plastic. It's thin compared to ABS, which most suits are made of, but since you shouldn't be bumping your helmet around on things, it's fine for buckets. The thinner plastic also shows more detail than a thicker plastic. You want to avoid this seller because he is recasting AP parts. AP is a seller here and you should support him instead of supporting the guy ripping him off.
  11. The weathering job is fantastic. What's your techique(s)?
  12. You might also be able to find a tinted visor for a football helmet on ebay for cheap. Motorcycle visors are kind of expensive to just cut up for lenses.
