  1. I'd see if he has any scrap ABS from the kit so you can see what kind of prep work it will take to paint the plastic before you jump in and buy the whole thing.
  2. Yeah, hard to say. Unless the price is a steal it's probably easier to just order a kit.
  3. Is it black plastic or is it plastic painted black? Some light sanding, primer and paint would probably work to turn it white if it's black ABS. But if it's been painted black it'll need more work.
  4. Yep, normal wear and tear from trooping lets the armor weather naturally
  5. TK 4510 sells neck trim, and I think you can also order it from Seals-Direct, but I'm not sure on the item number. http://members.cox.net/appstronaut/tk4510_decals.html
  6. The screen captures will show you how many ridges should protrude onto the chest plate. I think Terry's tutorials in the Academy have the info too
  7. I saw that movie when I was 3 or 4. The best part was the empty suits of armor marching around fighting!
  8. The weathering on the hockey mask is really cool.
  9. I've used Rusto paints and then a Krylon clear coat before with no issues. I would wait plenty of time before painting with the other brand and try it on some scrap plastic just to be safe.
  10. Good looking kit At least you didn't have Mr. No Stripes on your wall for reference -----------
  11. ATA and Scootch both make good buckets too.
  12. If they really overlap that much I'd probably pry them apart and trim it so the overlap is closer in size to a cover strip. Though if you're going that far you could also swap to a cover strip.
  13. I think they look fine, Rob. What glue did you use to put them on?
  14. Biceps and forearms are a good starting point
  15. I think the convention is to use a pencil to space the tube stripes out from the "cheek" of the helmet. Look at Mike or Scootch's assembly instructions.
  16. Too much dust . I think the width is 1" but searching drop box elastic should bring up something?
  17. My Doopydoos kit had a notch cut out for the screw tab. I guess you need to cut one for it with a dremel.
