  1. I have downloaded some shots
  2. I went to the show on Friday and Satureday, it was fantastic. I can't beleive how many people from the 501 were there. There must have been like a hundred. It was amazing, soon as I get a chance I'll post a bunch of pictures. I got David Prowse to sign my Star Wars Poster, I also got Trisha Helfer ( Battle Star Galactica ) to sign an autograph picture as well. Both David and Trisha were very nice and talked to the fans as they signed their autographs, they also allowed pictures which was also very nice... which is more than I can say for some of the stars, I don't want to mention any names ADAM WEST, ROBERT BELTRAN and CHARISMA CARPENTER . All in all I could'nt have asked for a better show. I'm already looking forward to next year.
  3. Cool, that another thing to add to my list of things I need to aquire.
  4. Cool..I myself just finished watching Dave's video last night, and will watch it again when my armor arrives.
  5. I like the pictures looking good so far. If I could request it, I would like a close up shot of how you are attaching the snaps to the back of the armor.
  6. Roy Mitchell, Commanding Officer, Canadian Garrison 501st Legion was on CITY TV Breakfast Television this morning talking about Fan Expo Canada 2007. He was in full armor, I did'nt see it but freinds of mine did.... -------------
  7. This is a fantastic thread, very informative. I have one question and its probably a dumb one but I'm gonna ask it anyway... What is a plactic weilder and how does it work ???
  8. I think the supplier sounds pretty reasonable. And from the response I just read I'm sure he will send out a new replacement helmet. ..BUT..I think from a manufactures point of view it would be prudent to investigate the batch first, other wise you would be leaving yourself open to replaceing helmets for every single person that ever messed up their assembly... Lets face it, if someone messes up their bucket because they went too far doing a trim job, we can expect the supplier to pay for it. I'm sure there have been many times over the years were people have tryed this.
  9. Great shots, I've never seen a pink Snow Trooper before.
  10. OK just out of interest , is that $85.00 charge the fee for getting into the convention ??? ... or is it JUST to see Mark Hamill ? it seems a bit steep... Last year at the Toronto Convention it was $30.00 to get in, and to get Carri Fishers autograph it was an additional $35.00.
  11. A job well done to be sure. Best of luck Paul in your new role. Dont be a stranger. Cheers!!!
  12. Np ...Here a link if anyones interested. There may be updates to the guest list from time to time as it gets closer. -------------- Cheers.
  13. Fantastic lookin Armor.
  14. Just though I'd say that I saw the new photo on the Home page, and it looks amazing. I'm not sure weather they're wearing RT, AP or FX, but they all look great... BTW were was it taken ?
  15. Take lots of picture and be sure to post them.
  16. Hello John, I'm sorry to here about what happened to you. Speaking from personal experience I kind of know what its like. I too have had altercation coming through customs. Although not nearly as bad as you. I have had dealings on more than on occasion in Toronto. I'm sure there are good hard working people doing this job but the guy I had an altercation with at the airport was a real peice of S__t. Its too bad this unjustfied paranoia is so prevelent in North America society today ( Canada and the USA )
  17. LOL this is great! ... last year at the Convention center for SFX 2006 my dad saw a couple of troopers out front and he said to me " Look Chewbacca". In fact it seems to me that regardless of weather its Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper or even someone dressed as Princess Leia, my dad always seems to think its Chewbacca
  18. Hey all, the Fan Expo in Toronto guest list has been announced some of the names are as follows...HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN, JAKE LLOYD, DAVID PROWSE, DANIEL LOGAN plus many cool non Star Wars personalities like MALCOLM McDOWELL , MICHAEL BIEHN, and JONATHAN FRAKES. Looks like its gonna be a good show. I expect attendance will likley exceed fifty thousand this year. Also ALBIN JOHNSON will be there and he's called for a 501st international conference which means there should be alot members in attendance. It should be a great oppertunity for me to pick their brains, I'm looking forward to it. Unfortunatly I have not yet ordered my armor so I will not be ready by the end of August. I sent an e-mail to Rob at RT the other day beacuse I had one more question for him. I'm just waiting for an answer. I think I'm almost ready to place an order. WOOT !!! Is anyone here planning a trip Toronto...

    Back from C4

I wish I coulda gone to this one. It looked amazing.
  20. I myself am quite lazy, So I would prefer not to trim.LOL
  21. I agree, although I do not yet own armor, when I do get it I will make sure not to take off my helmet in public.
  22. ......Wow great topic...Besides Star Wars I have many interests. I love collecting DVD's I must have at least 500 movies. I am currenly on a quest to find the 1980 Flash Gordon movie, I saw it in the theaters but for some reason it has never been released in North America. I like Sports including Hockey, Football and Soccer, I am a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, A Liverpool FC fan, and I am a fanatical New Orleans Saints fan. I've been to New Orleans many times and love it and I have family there. I too like cars, my first car was a 1972 Challanger RT, my second was a 1992 Dodge Daytona ES, and my newest baby Is a 2005 Monte Carlo SS, with very low mileage which I just bought last summer I love it. I also like music, I used to DJ in the clubs back in the 80's while in highschool an in University. My taste is predominantly the New Wave scene ( New Order, Flock of Seagulls, Til Tuesday etc...) but I also like Rock ( Pink Floyd, Black Sabath, Scorpions etc...) One of the highlight of my DJ career was to do a consert in conjuction with a band called the Spoons, which was a Toronto based New Wave band during the 80's that had many songs that charted, including some that went to number 1. I also like Scuba diving and have done the PADI course but have not yet completed the in water final test. I do however have a recreational divers license which allows me to dive most places in the Carabean like Cuba and Mexico. .....My employment is a mish mash of unrelated jobs over the years, after graduating with a BA from Ryerson, I continued to work in the Bar business first as a Bar tender then as a Manager( my parents were not happy). I majored in Photography at Ryerson and about a year after graduating I took a job with a studio in Toronto were I eventually became manager. Through the years I had the oppertunity to photograhy many diiferent things including commercial some fashion and magazine work, for a while the money got very good but it did'nt last. The Studio I worked for got in financial trouble and my pay checks started bouncing. Because the photo industry is very feast or famin business I decided to exit the industry but I still do some shoooting for various studio's in the Toronto area. I am now an Trader for a major Canadian Bank, I trade stocks, bonds and Mutual funds, It aint glamorous or interesting, and I don't get laid like used to, but it pays the bills and the money is getting better all the time. I just bought a Condo so moneys a bit tight that why I have not yet bought armor...but soon....Oh one other thing, I have Torrett Syndrome, but its a very mild case sometimes people won't notice for months, although it does flare up from time to time if im stressed.
  23. Congrats Paul !!!
  24. WOW TK4205, thats amazing, very professional. I can't wait to start mine. Errr...now for another dumb question from the new guy, were are the batteries that drive the little fans located.
  25. It looks fantastic, OMG!! I think I would be too nervous to try this myself. I would likely mess it up.
