Yeah, I would greatly appreciate a TE2 helmet, and seeing them get torn up really irritates me. There are many "accurate" symmetrical helmets out there, and to rip up a bucket made specifically to show the asymmetry in the helmet debases the scheme of things.
-
I agree. People go out of their way to get a TE bucket to have the screen accuracy. If you want a symmetrical bucket, then you can get yourself the MRCE, FX, etc. Even Kev's A.N.H. looks pretty good too.
-
Asymmetry gives Stormtroopers character. Or else we'd just be the Skittle-Brigade Clones.

I remember all of those Custom Mandos graffito-tagged Los Angeles at CIV, haha. I still see them occasionally when I stroll into Downtown LA.
-
They just crack, are wrinkly, thin, and the soles are glued on pretty weak. Here in Nevada, if it's a hot day, which every day is, the CAboots sole glue gives and you lose the back heel.

I have an FX kit and CA boots, and they are now hand me downs to my girlfriend so she can troop while I'm Boba, this is because I want better TK items. I almost am ready to order my AP kit, but the boots keep eluding me. I won't be buying CA boots again.

Thanks for the link Heatshock, that really helped out!

Thanks Cranky I had heard once that AP was more suited for Hero, but I've seen some pretty good Stunt build-ups.
-
What are the physical differents between the Stunt and Hero type helmets? Is it just the amount of teeth cut out and the paint job, or is it something more physical than that. Personally I prefer the Stunt helmet, but would the AP helmet work for Stunt? Or is that helmet better fit for the Hero style. Thanks, Andy

Does anyone recommend a good place to buy Jodhpur boots? I've checked all over online and ebay, and I find a ton of different boots, but I'm not sure which is really correct. Also, what would be a good price for a pair of Jodhpur boots? I'm trying to go cheaper than CA Boots, I all ready have a pair of those, but I want something far more accurate to go along with the AP suit I'm getting. Thanks, Andy TK-1287

What kind of welding visor is it? My first visor on my Fett helmet was impossible to see out of, other ones I've tried though work fine.

Hey Guys, My name is Andy and I'm TK-1287 of the Neon City Garrison. I'm 20 years old and I have been trooping with the Legion since June 2006, and have had my FX kit since September of 2006. However, ever since last year, I've been looking into a more accurate suit of armour, I've really been keeping my eye on AP and TE2. My goal is to become an ESB Elite Stormtrooper, and hopefully to convert more members of my garrison over to better armour, or better helmets. I'm just a little over 5'9", and I weight about 125lbs, it seems like my body size is almost perfect for an accurate suit of Stormtrooper armour. I know that there are many great kits out there, AP, TE2, RT, TM, etc, but which suit would be best for my particular body type? I've been leaning towards a suit of AP armour. I know the price and I should be able to afford that particular suit of armour within the next month or two. What I really like about the AP suit is that it's made out of ABS, a lot stronger, and looks a lot better than Styrene. I also know that TE2 is a fantastic suit, and many say that it's the best Stormtrooper suit on the market. Are these suits sold regularly, or are they done in runs? I also hear that TE2 suits are made out of styrene, how good of care would one need to take care of the styrene to keep it from cracking? From what I understand, TM is the best screen accurate fan sculpt suit out there, but it's made for larger people, not something I particularly need. What I am looking in a suit is a durable, screen accurate suit that looks good on someone of my size. I'd love to hear everyone's input on what suit would be recommended for me! Thanks in advance! Trimming AP using the Mold Lines

Here are a couple videos I made regarding trimming my Boba Fett armour. -
1287 = December 1987. I initially wanted 0937 because it was the last 4 digits of my phone number, 501 were the first 3 digits. 501-0937

Have you spoken to the Canadian Garrison? Perhaps a member there has a pair of boots that you can borrow.

Unfortunately not. I drove all of the way back from Los Angeles to find out that the person in charge of setting up the event only contacted the theater 3 days prior. When that failed, he contacted another theater 2 days prior. Oh well.

I could try to help out with scale if I could. I could throw that picture into AutoCAD and put in the dimensions of the E-11 he's holding. Then scale the whole picture to that, I can find out the rough dimensions of the holster too. My CO has a real E-11 sterling with all real parts, I'll see what I can do Andy
-
I love it! I plan on going ESB Elite, and I would love to build a holster like this for my costume. Would you be willing to post dimensions or anything? Thanks, Andy
-
I noticed it too, but I wouldn't worry about it. It was only a painting, I doubt that in movie artwork is going to be considered costume canon material.

Rapstertee's AP Build - July 08[*AP]
TK-1287 replied to rapstertee's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Ever since I found out that there are more accurate suits than the FX, I regretted buying it I will get AP in time though -
What about airbrushing? That may be a good alternate to spraypaints.

The helmet just sounds more realistic.
