  1. I did a search of the available numbers left and went with 8993 as there was not many left that had any meaning to me and it just happens that my Honda fireblade is 893cc. So firebladejedi is TK 8993
  2. Great to see some armour action going on your way Nate
  3. I have never had this problem but that's a great solution Scott and a lot better than putting velcro on the front of the boots
  4. When i first cut my cod i cut too low and then it was visable from the front, so i got another cod and made the cut higher under where the belt goes. On any kind of accurate armour i would not bother cutting it. Second pic is where i would suggest cutting if you want to.
  5. Lookin good there boss. I love the big gun with the hero lid, really looks ace
  6. I like with space but no hyphens.
  7. Looking at your pencil marks I would say; your back and cap side marks, trim to the forward line first. If any more needs trimming off do so as and when. Once it's gone it's gone. The brow needs to be higher up, right along the line of the trap. The eyes I would take a little more away from the bottom outside corner. But it's all down to personal taste and what you like as much as doing it the 'right' way
  8. Great job andy I love these fake hdpe looking trooper helmets... drool
  9. I think there are more than 1 mns in anh, 1 with 4 teeth and 1 with 3 teeth both stunt helmets. As for sloppy paint, bodge tape, plasters and bits missing.. I love those details and add them to my armour builds to stand out from others troopers. My armour is as diverse as those seen in the films ps check with your garrison as to what is accepted before making rash decissions
  10. And he didn't have any tube stripes either ^^^
  11. It was an honor trooping with you yesterday
  12. I am almost beyond words, by the audacity you have by saying here that by following StukaTrooper tutorial on armour building you have ruined your kit by means of wrongfull assembly. He is one of the most skillful and articulate armour builders I have seen in a long time. Basic armour assembly and whether to use the overlap or butt jointed method is something that should be researched before you start to build a kit, not to be questioned afterwards. We all know the AP armour is cast from a Rotj suit and the armour of that style was assembled by overlapping the seams. But most people will modify and build their armour to be like ANH which was put together using butt seams and the added strip. I would suggest taking a little more notice from those good enough to offer sound advice before making any major changes to your own armour. You are welcome to do what you please with your own suit, but you still seem very confused by the variations in the movie armour. Painting the frown outside of the teeth, using green bubble lenses on a ANH style helmet such as yours along with butt jointed seams on the body armour is not going to potray any armour from the films. I wish you the best of luck in your quest to own a set of black TM armour, there have only ever been three produced worldwide.
  13. All the infomation you seek can be found here Vern, along with another half a dozen other prop forums. And as for comparison photos the same can be said just by looking at all the build threads already written. I think a good place to start any research for info on stormtrooper armour, the difference in appearance and assembly is starwarshelmets dot com. If there is any purpose to this thread it shows without a doubt that TM armour is shapped correctly and that it has a closer resemblance to the AHN armour than any 'cast from screen used' available.
  14. Thanks for posting that pic Paul, I was startng to get bored posting screen grabs to put accross my side of the argument
  15. Here are some more pics showing the 'pinch' on the thighs..
  16. Lets go back to te pinch at the top of the thigh for a minute. Here we have a pic of the trooper in ESB, which was reused armour from SW. Its hard to find pictures of troopers showing the top of the thigh due to the positions of the drop boxes... ------------ Now looking at a real return of the jedi suit belonging to PugMan the 'pinch' at the top is still present, ok its softer but you can evidently see it on this armour.
  17. I do not remember the name of this trooper, he posted these pics of his TM hero on the RPF a couple of years ago and he is the perfect size to replicate the original stormtroopers. he could have been the trooper in the promo pics. So as i said previously the size of the individual armour has to be looked at, or overlooked when trying to compare fan made armour to screen used, most fans suits like mine are bigger to be able to wear them. Pics courtesy of SW helmets ------- -------- -------
  18. Let me be clear I am not saying any armour is better than another, I appreciate they all have their merets and I am only interested in the discussion here about accuracy. I have had a couple of pm's saying that my thighs on my tm armour are larger, or indeed wider to be precise than the picture of the real tk in the promo trooper I posted. Please realise that the actors and extra's who where the stormtroopers over 30 years ago where a lot sliimer than I am. They seem to be of around 5'7 to 5'11 tall and about 10 stone in weight and of slim build. I on the other hand am 6 feet tall and weigh over 15 stone due to my love of food and beer. I therefor have had to build my armour bigger than the original to be able to fit in it. I will post up some pics later of slim modern day troopers to show the visual difference.
  19. Looking through some pics for ref doing my ESB i saw this pic and immediately thought of this thread.
  20. Going from ANH to ESB is easy. All you need is another helmet, a new belt holster set up, and different hand plates. The armour is identical, as it was the original ANH armour re-used, with the mentioned amendments. The shoulder straps are still glued to the front and float at the rear, with or without the elastic. Think lots of bodge tape.. The drop boxes go where ever, as they are looped over the belt using elastic not hard fixed hence they have a tendency to shift about a little. The holster is identical to the anh version, only it now has full loops over the belt on the other hip, the blaster will face forward with the magazine facing away from the body.
  21. Thanks Rolf many a time i read your build threads with enthusiasm and im sure i gained a few good tips
  22. Last weekend i was able to get some new pics of my ESB stormtrooper. My friend John took the photos. Dan Laws Helmet with Mike TK 4510 decals, TrooperMaster ABS armour, Riveting neckseal, FBJ canvas belt and Riveting leather holster, Painted Loake chelsea boots. Hyperfirm E-11.
