  1. Welcome aboard Grant. The Empire is always hiring Stormtroopers.
  2. I've tried a couple of those BT transmitter / receivers, but the problem seems to be the inherent delay that comes with packaging the signal to send over the air. Same with using BT on my hearing set up. For my speaker I just stick with a wire that goes inside my balaclava, into my shirt and then out the neck hole behind my chest plate to the TKTalkie box.
  3. Welcome Tom. Have you started a Work In Progress (WIP) Thread yet? You can start one here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ It gives you the chance to share what you are working on with other TK's and get recommendations and support along the way. For and example, you can see mine in my signature below.
  4. Andrew, I have been using 5015 5V USB fans in my TIE Bucket and run them through a USB switch with a USB rechargeable battery pack. The TK bucket has a less room, so I have wired in some similar fans that also run off a USB rechargeable battery pack. As Tony mentioned above, the fans can get noisy. I wear some earbuds that are plugged into a Velleman stereo ear kit so I can hear really well. The addition of fans to your bucket is HUGE! I'm in Arizona and it is pretty much a must have. When they die, you can go from "it's warm but comfortable" to "OMG get me out of here" really quick.
  5. Are you talking about the lower return edge underneath? You can probably make it a continuous curve and even it up, but I think it looks pretty good in your pictures.
  6. Hey Freddy! Welcome to the greatest repository of Stormtrooper armor out there. R1 armor is a great choice. It's become teh go to style for all the live action projects produced recently and while built a little differently than the original, looks convincingly similar. I'd like to make a set for myself.
  7. Welcome aboard trooper!
  8. Hi John and welcome to the forums. Another option that I am personally fond of is the TK Talkie. It is a DIY project but from time to time you can order one pre-built. Does the same as the I-comm adding the classic clicks and pops to your speaking and you can also change it for the costume and modify how it changes your voice. I use mine on my TK and Tie Pilot and have had my kids use them with pre-recorded audio files for their Jawa's and a Gonk Droid costume. It's a great kit.
  9. Hey Jorge! Welcome to the FISD and it was good to see you on the Dune Sea Garrrison forums. Looks like you've already gotten some solid starting advice over here. Have you started a Work In Progress (WIP) post on your R1 trooper yet? If you haven't built anything don't worry, many a WIP post starts off with pictures of the box, some parts and your thoughts of what to start on. You can find other builds to check out here: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/162-rogue-one/ As has already been said above, take your time. Pick a part you want to work on and look at what others have done, emerse yourself in the research and take the frst parts slowly. Once you have done a couple pieces it will flow more quickly and next you know you're submitting those approval pics. And hopefully Expert Infantry and Centurion as well. Keep your eyes peeled for armor parties. I'm not sure when the next one in Phoenix will be but we will probably have one in Tucson around the new year.
  10. Hey Chris, A great deal on a set on Anovos Armor is how I got my start. Then I went to TI. Happy you're here and looking forward to seeing your build come together.
  11. If you are good with soldering, I am quite fond of the TK-Talkie. They work great! It's more of a DIY Kit, but can save you a few credits. https://www.tktalkie.com/
  12. Welcome to the FISD Martin. Sounds like you're building a fantastic collection of kits. Really look forward to seeing this one come together.
  13. Welcome Tympanic, There's a load of resources around here and you're in great company. It took me a couple years to build my kit but once you get rolling, it will become a fun and challenging task And before you know it, you'll have a full set of armor.
  14. Welcome back Christian! Looking foraward to you cranking it out.
  15. It may be helpful to have a friend. I find that I can get my shoulder bells clicked in but it is a challenge sometimes and order of operations is important! For me, Thigh, then boots before shins.
