  2. Hi Dave, Good start. Looks like you’ve fitted it well to yourself. :-) I saw in your other thread that you mentioned L2/L3. Are you in the UK and going for UKG clearance? For those higher levels, it looks like you might have to make some changes, although more detailed photos would help us point you in the right direction. Here’s a couple of initial things to consider. Ab buttons appear to be separate - for L3, “ Abdomen armor buttons are integrated and painted directly on the armor. No separate buttons are allowed.” You could source replacement ab plates quite easily. The limb parts appear to be constructed using the overlap method. For L3, the biceps, forearms, thighs and shins “must be constructed using the butt joint and cover strip method. Overlap construction is not allowed”. Others have converted these parts in the past, so it’s doable if you wanted to. The fastening of certain parts is also covered by L3, such as correct use and positioning of rivets, screws, etc. If if you could post more detailed pics of the armour and lid, we can certainly help guide you to your desired clearance level. I hope this this doesn’t sound like criticism. I only mention it as you had previously discussed the EIB and Centurion programs. Best wishes, Dan
  3. Love it!! What a fun video, and a great set of armour! :-) Was that a tiny bit of the Terminator theme at the end? Or possibly The Dark Knight?
  4. Lol. We’ll just call it, “The Frank”. ;-) It’s just genuine Velcro brand hook and eye, self adhesive, with 1inch white elastic. The popper is not part of this aspect as such, the popper in the picture is to connect to my boot to prevent the shins from twisting. The picture showing ‘full flexed ankle’ is the most I could get it to open with ankle movement alone. As such, it just gives a little ankle leeway, but returns to a nice closed position afterwards. :-) A full troop will tell me how successful this method is, long term. Seems good for the couple of hours I tested last night around the house. Fingers crossed. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Well, another night, another upgrade. :-) So, a little while back I asked on a group how people transport their blasters. Amongst the options, some of the advise included carrying it in its holster. Well, that has now become part of my transportation solution. [emoji1303] As the pictures below will show, I’m using the Homebase (UK hardware store) 145ltr battle box, and am now utilising the “height” of the box. By using some foam from the packaging of a new kitchen tap, clip straps from a suitcase, and a selection of nuts, bolts and washers, I’ve now attached straps to the box lid and can suspend the blaster in the lid, making the most of the free space ABOVE the armour. Hopefully these pictures give the idea, and show a little of how I get my full kit into the one box. Not sure how it’ll hold up in the long term, but seems sturdy for now. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. He’s such a nice guy, Tapatalk thought your message needed repeating. ;-) It’s been a pleasure following your build, Wayne. [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Top job mate. That’s a blaster to be proud of. (Hehe - wrote this about two hours ago - forgot to press submit reply - ooops)
  8. Hiya. I believe Troopermaster makes children’s TKs. He can be found on this forum or in Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/TMProps/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hi all. I’ve always found that my ankle movement is limited when kitted up. I have a popper at the back and Velcro at the front to prevent twisting, however too much ankle movement could force the popper to un-pop. So, I decided to experiment with a Velcro method/ bra hook method hybrid. (“The CableGuy Method” Patent pending, lol) [emoji6] Essentially it’s 1” elastic with Velcro either end. Seems to flex nicely when walking around the house. Branded Velcro so it’s very strong. I spent a couple of hours with the shins and boots on, just doing bits around the house. Seems to give just the right amount of flex but always reposition where they should. Any thoughts welcomed. :-) As a side note, I finally sewed some patches to my apparel. Here’s a great one dedicated to the UKG founder, Graham Campbell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Well done Julian. Great looking armour!!
  11. Hi Dave, Here’s some helpful info on the EIB and Centurion programs. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35371-eib-and-centurion-what-do-these-terms-mean/ Essentially, there are three levels. Basic garrrison clearance, Expert Infantry (EIB) and Centurion. If you can, aiming for Centurion level from day one is easiest in the long term. It will save having to change or upgrade things down the line. Once your armour is cleared by your garrison and you get your 501st TK ID, you can then apply here for EIB. Once that’s achieved, apply again for Centurion. Check out the link above and let us know if there’s anything else we can help with. Dan
  12. That first coat really brings out the detail. Good work, matey. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Just to clarify, I do like the designs. I got my wires crossed and didn’t realise the design was final. My bad.
  14. No worries. TK42911 returning to my post. ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Hi all, Just some constructive feedback here (again, not meant in a derogatory way). Whilst chatting with my wife about the FISD updates, I showed her these newly proposed designs and her first thought was that they were nice, reminiscent of “Mario Kart”. I am not suggesting that anything should change as a result of this comment - it is just meant as valid feedback from another pair of eyes. To me, personally, the existing designs look a little more military. These new designs are lovely in a more fun way. As Brein said, to each their own. Also, I’m partial to the dark blue. As stated by Glen, this adds a special quality to it. Almost a royal blue, adding to the quality feel. Out of interest, are we planning on choosing from a selection of designs over time or is this the design we’re following? I only ask as, if this is the chosen design then I’ll roll with it. Best wishes, Dan
