  1. The last large bump isnt a hard stop its just a piece that is up to you if you want to remove or not. One of the deployment officers can correct me but this bump should not impact your approval to centurion. Your forearms do look large, is it easy or hard to slide arms in? How much gap is there between your arm and the abs? If you do trim them down, only remove the rear coverstrip and trim equal amounts on each side to reduce the size. I would start with the shoulder gaps, TD screws, and maybe....maybe the forearms depending on the gap you have sliding them on. The shoulder bump that is up to your preference I still have my large bump, i'm still up in the air on cutting it or not....leaning towards cutting it.
  2. And I only searched from my phone sorry couldn't tell which section I was pulling up
  3. Very true, if we can't make it work you can either a) get new shins b) get new boots. Obviously we will try to get you with the least expensive option which is to get your current shins setup correctly. It we need to get new shins I cannot recall if there is a thread that compared the different makers abs colors...
  4. I would use ABS for the shim backing, as you can put it in a hot water bath to give the backing the right shape to your shin. I would hold off on the brace as it may not be necessary. I think the more important aspect is to have the shim backing have the most contact with the shin as possible while still giving you the flexibility to open and close the shins to get your leg in. You can always add the backing later if necessary.
  5. maybe need to do something more than E6000 it? It will need a lot of strength _----_ Imagine the dashed line is the piece behind what you will be shimming. This piece will need to be very large and also go to the edge of the shim piece. Than either epoxy the behind piece (dashed line) inside the shin and sandwich to your shim piece. It wont be easy but it is possible. Perhaps others than have shimmed can chime in with more experience.
  6. I would start with applying your cover strip to the back of your shin and then seeing how much you need to shim to fill in the gap. Obviously the coverstrip will help hide anything that you wont need to shim.
  7. I believe they are cheaper here than going through Etsy. Check out the for sale sign in section, can't miss good stuff
  8. Your going to be the short trooper master! Great work so far!
  9. yea the crooked brow gives it a bit of a "do you smell what the TK is cooking" persona. Definitely straighten out the brow and give it the low intimidating look your making good progress!
  10. A few things from EIB submission that I worked on. The gap on my right side of my ab was a bit large and was the thing that I thought would get called out Before: To bring the ab and kidney in tighter all I did was apply additional E6000 to the strap, shortening the distance it had to stretch. Also I tightened the belt down. Back of my shins (ooooh shins.....) Bit of a gap at the top, was not an issue for basic, but could look better. The fix to bring them in was to peel off my top elastic strap move it over about 1/4-1/2 inch and hit it with some E6000. only a slight gap on the right leg. I have to use needle nose pillars to fasten the top hook but much better. Very tight! I removed additional return edge on the top of the shins and will report back with the fit after I get my first troop done tonight! All packed up and excited!
  11. Thats a whole lotta shim for a shin! It appears the front of the shin is already assembled. Like CableGuy said. Try on, give us some more pictures. Even give the back a bit of a squeeze to see how much room you have while trying them.
  12. Closed the gap at the top of my calves...much better. Have to use needle nose pilers to get the top strap connected but am happy. Apologies undersuit is in the wash as first troop is tomorrow!.
  13. Here's one I have from when my rivet pulled through recently and I fixed. I can get a better one once I am home from work if necessary
  14. My calfs push them out a bit. Current fix is to move the top elastic piece away from the edge about 1/4 to 1/2 inch to give it more pull on the top. That should help close it more. If I'm still getting some push from my leg, I'll be removing some of the top return edge to reduce the area it pushes on. I entirely agree with the not wanting to cut the thighs and shins. To me personally I prefer the complete look. But IF and only IF I cannot get them closed by removing return edge and tightening the elastic cutting is the last resort I mean it is a stunt ANH TK after all cutting is still canon if I can't get the other to work.
  15. It's closed well due in part to me just holding it Haven't messed with the elastics just yet.
  16. Picture straight on can't see anything. Picture from side can see a small indent Not sure what would have caused this, hope it doesn't impede higher approval
  17. I saw that the CRL model has them cut out when I was looking over before EIB submission. It appears to be a very slight crescent. I can only imagine the mobility I will have after that!
  18. The top i can try to close...not sure how much luck I will have possible readjust the elastic to pull it tighter? that might do it. Is cutting them an option? That is by far the easiest if not possible to get them closed with the elastic. It might be the lighting. I know in that spot I have my middle elastic so not sure if that dented slightly from when I gave it a water bath. I'll get a better pic of it later tonight and post it up here.
  19. No harm done! Its hard to see things from just pictures unless I gave you just the right angle to see it from. Darn old jedi and there certain point of view
  20. Congrats! I cant wait to see your build!
  21. My wife insists making me do it myself I really need to get a mirror and do better. The chest piece does cover the ab but maybe not by much....i would have to get a better pic of it. Not sure if that is a result of using brackets? Also probably due to using brackets is the gap between the kidney and back. I think some abs spacers will tighten these up rather than tearing down and resewing parts. Plus I need to reinforce that return edge anywho. Thigh ammo pack is rounded, but i see where the picture is making it look like there is an edge. First troop is 7/19! But I have walked around the house, even up and down stairs and have not had much pinching in the legs and crouch. More so I had a part on my right arm. Also noticed that my bicep hooks catch the chest armor occasionally so I am going to shorten them up.
