So….were we at? Helmet I’m going with this version of the helmet: Bought a file from etsy and a friend is printing it for me, he has a smaler printer so it’s going to be in 4 main pieces (bummer). It’s pretty good but I can see a few areas were I will try to make some changes, if you don’t see it you will have to wait untill the helmet arrives Armor Armor is going to be ordered from Imperial Surplus when they get back up and running. As far as I know they are the only ones providing the Concept Armor. Soft goods: Grey 2 piece undersuit came today and it might be a little too light of a shade but I will see if I’ll dye it darker when the grey elastic is in hand (so they match). Still looking on a few options for the gloves. Not sure if I’ll try to source/make a grey neckseal or just go with a grey balaclava (already have that in hand for my Fett). Boots I’m going with this for boots and plan on painting the soles grey:

There’s a saying that ”in the end you go back to the beginning”. That is fitting for this build as it most likely will be my last Stormtrooper build. It’s based on the concept drawings by Ralph McQuarrie that started the life of the Stormtrooper. Althoug the design changed this is were it all started. I would like to dedicate this build to Dan (Cableguy). Dan’s love for the OT Stormtrooper are well known and I would hade really liked to have him with me on this one. We built our Stormtroopers (me a Hero and Dan a Stunt) at the same time and somehow got to talking via pm’s and became friends. We were also D.O’s together for a period of time. Anyway…as he loved the OT TK I’m thinking he might have enjoyed sharing this experience in building a Stormtrooper based on the first drawings of what later turned into the iconic Stormtrooper. This one is for you Dan - you are missed

I think so too. You can get helmets from others though and they look a bit different but similar to the different drewings made by Mcquarrie. So as long as the helmet looks like one of those it would be aporoved? Perhaps add those variants to the CRL? I’m going for this helmet.

Question: the helmet in the CRL is different, will that present a problem for approval?

Hey, I would say neither option and go with a third. The notches on the kidney plate are optional even for Centurion. Due to the way WTF armor goes together it would require alot of extra work to make it screen accurate so if I were you I would shim straight across. The WTF kidney plate is simply not tall enough. Keep in mind that when wearing the gaskets they will raise the armor closer to the helmet. Looks like there still will be some clearence but perhaps not by much. Just thought I mention it for those following along Now…isn’t it time for a build update?

Can’t understand it…don’t want to…took me awhile to understand the IG post of his passing….I couldn’t process it…just the other day he liked a post I made here and now he’s gone. Like others said I also never got around to meeting him in person but due to our contact on these boards over the years I consider him a very close friend…my heart goes out to his family and I want to do something..don’t know what…but something….I’m going to miss you Dan and I just should have booked that flight over from Sweden to London when we talked about it those years ago…

The armor above is EFX that never was…they got hold of a set of original armor from a private collector.

I have 11 buttons and each button can store 3 phrases and you play by memory. I can mix the phrases and replace as many times I want. Just making sure, are you doing the TK-twist? (Putting it on sideways and then rotating it) If not that will most likely do the trick

That means no overlapping of the armor pieces that you join together. Edge to edge with a plastic strip over it.

Haven’t looked in on them recently but their armor was previously a recast of RS propmasters.
