I think the wording with 8 teeth was ”wrong” from the get go and just a crossover från OT helmets with the 8 cut outs, somehow it transfered into teeth . If the CRLs isn’t updated then a helmet with the (correct) 9 teeth might not be approved by a GML. If available helmets are a concern then have the text say 8 or 9 teeth for basic and for higher levels the correct 9 teeth with 10 cut outs are present. Just an idea. Looking at the ROTK CRL helmet there are 9 teeth, missing the spaces on the ends though. And..come to to think of it, as there is a ”center tooth” there can’t be an even number of teeth meaning all helmets out there ”should” be fine.

Good thing that, the raised method seems more difficult not getting gold were you don’t want it, although making more sence as a repair-method.

Added some spiderwebb-cracking and a few goldspots and a grey patch. Already know a few sports to add gold to but will let it sit for a few days. Redid the cracks with Montana gold chrome, it dosen’t show a lot of difference in the photos but a lot better live.

They are the same helmets so yes.

There are 9 teeth and a bit hard to see but 10 hollow spaces.

A Garrison friend is builidng Cap Enoch so figured we needed a footsoldier to keep him company and here we are Started on the Helmet (files are PPC) and shapewise it’s good but the teeth and tubestripes could be better but I guess it’s good enough for basic, we shall see. Mapped out the cracks with a pencil to see what I would like and then the carving started. Pretty happy were it’s at but can always add more cracks..well…you can also reduce them with a bit more work For the gold I will start with acrylics and see how that looks.

Veeeeery slowly though, it’s at the very end of the backburner…there will be a Night Trooper before this ones finished, been doing some other costumes lately🙂

The first pic is from the movie, a Sandtrooper, and the other is a pic of a cosplayer. Unless you get a helmet used in the movie it’s going to look different. And even the helmets made for the film didn’t all look identical. However, by the looks of it the cosplayer helmet is an RS propmasters helmet with means it’s a copy of a screen used helmet and as close as you’ll get. Why then, does it look different? Well, depending on how it’s put together, and also in what angle the photo is taken is going to change the look of the helmet. It is also, as you say, depending on were you get your helmet from, if someone is sculpting based on photos or have an actual helmet used in the films to make copies from. As an example, I could make a sculpt and sell helmets and say it’s an ANH helmet but it will not look like the ones in the movie ? Another ex, from the movie, both are ANH helmets but look very different, the one on the left beeing a Hero helmet and the one on the right is a Stunt helmet.

Sanded some more and I guess were they got the inspiration for the deathtrooper helmet from?

Helmet all glued up, not pretty but does the job , also added first round of filler.

Helmet partially glued, added some spacers and there’s now enough room. Still very snug but wearable.

I got some work to do, man that’s alot of pieces It’s also too snug and my eye lids are actually touching the visor when I blink…well don’t blink then I’ll ad som spacers to make the helmet bigger and if it’s a miss I’ll get my friend to print at a larger scale. Had to do the TK-twist to get it on, that was a pretty fun trivia thing.

Both a minor and a major update so to speak Elastic is in, I bought two shades and one was a pretty good match. Got side-tracked with another cosplay so haven’t ordered the armor yet and probably couldn’t have anyways as Imperial Surplus have had some trouble with their shop, fortunatly they seem to be getting back up, more so for them than me obviously. Anyway, this is what my ”damaged brain” randomly decided to do a few weeks back Ehh what’s that..not a Stormtrooper costume is it? No but a sort of Stormtrooper you could say A JUDGE! Helmet is cast from a screen used one so lineage yeey! and one for laughs
