  1. I was wondering the same thing.
  2. Tony (ukswrath) has a thread as well that’s pretty in-depth, and there are a few more in the 501st section.
  3. I didn’t fill mine but I did line then with ‘for sale’ sign material for strength.
  4. Hello Matt and welcome to the detachment. I would start your research here: For the most part armor is sold as a kit, you will have to build it to fit you and then seek out 501st approval.
  5. You have the benefit of having done one of the same kit, so in theory you can just use that for your measurements (assuming you are happy with the fit).
  6. Some good tips there, I imagine it would. Also... troop (and new shoe straps) successful!
  7. Yeah, Velcro on the front stopped the entire shin from rotating/riding up the boot, but whenever I needed to go up or down stairs the boots would flex and the rear portion would pop out and go over the shin (leading to plastic grinding against my ankle, oh so fun).
  8. Good luck Ralf! PS: your belt (and this never happens, it's always the opposite) looks a tad high, it should be right below the first button, while yours appears to be covering it.
  9. The more I troop in this armor, the more I find I want to tweak/fix. Today's menu is my boots, which like to pop out of my shins. I removed the velcro I'd previously glued to the front and made some new velcro tabs for the front, and leather tabs for the back: These will be used in conjunction with some Velcro tie-downs I bought off Amazon (these ones, for those interested) so I can cinch the boots tight to my ankles: Preliminary tests seem positive, but I'll find out in about two hours (last troop of 2017!).
  10. Congrats! Time to get that EIB app in!
  11. You've already done this once. This should be a cake walk.
  12. Something seems broken, the site won't let me embed images. Error is: The link could not be embedded because of an unexpected error: Internal Server Error: "Incorrect key file for table '.\/fisd_stormtrooperforums\/ibf_core_cache.MYI'; try to repair it".
  13. Those Hasbro blasters aren’t accurate, but they’re a great starter/placeholder blaster!
  14. I found it helped to pick up some hobby cotton swabs (like these: https://www.tamiyausa.com/items/paints-finishes-60/tamiya-maintenance-material-62000/craft-cotton-swab-87105). You can use them with some rubbing alcohol (the higher strength, 90% I think?) to clean up/remove the overspray (which the DOs will ask you to do for Centurion) as well as any painting mistakes.
  15. Nice and compact. Good job on the liners.
  16. Yeah, Anovos belt is junk. Be super careful when you go to remove the rivet covers - I destroyed two of mine and had to source replacements from ATA. I also sliced my finger open. Yay. Other unsolicited advice: use popper snaps (or better yet, magnet snaps, Tandy sells them) for your belt-to-ab plate connection. The line 24 snaps hold great, but are a major PITA when putting the belt on. If you ever plan on going ESB or ANH-Hero, some way of making the belt portion removable might be worth pursuing as then you'd only have to swap out the canvas portion instead of having two or three seperate belts. Again, only if you think it might be an option later on.
  17. Congrats, Tony. I'll be looking to your thread when (if?) my Anovos kit ever ships. Great job.
