Welcome to the FISD Jo!
Try to get in touch with your garrison. Having people with experience near is always helpful.
You may find someone willing to help you there.
You called??
Hi Jo, hop onto the Southern Cross Garrison forum http://501scg.com/forum/index.php and introduce yourself. We'll be having a get together in the next couple of weeks. It is always good to meet in person for a chat and some hands on time with some armour.
Hope to see you soon,
Dave.
I've posted much the same message on the TAG forum as well...

Productions said:Whatever it is "I WANT ONE!". The figure seems to have a different shape weapon tho:

Luke
Do I detect a different breast plate as well? Hmmm, maybe booby armour is on the way to becoming official
-
Hey Heather, fancy meeting you here;)
Good luck with the search.

Hi Dave, welcome to the FISD!
Have you joined up at your local 501st garrison the TAG ? http://forum.501tag.com/index.php?act=idx
The lads and lasses there are a great bunch. The X.O , Jason has some of the best looking armour in Oz and will no doubt give you a hand down the T.K path.

Just try getting under the edge of it with a scalpel, or some sort of sharp little knife. It'll just peel off in lumps.

... get in touch with your local Garrison. Since you're in Sydney, your default Garrison is now the Southern Cross Garrison - www.501scg.com . Plenty of helpful troopers there just looking for a reason for an armour party. The bloke there you really need to talk to is the CO, DaveJ. He pops in here occaisionally as well.
Hey, that would be me ,thanks J
Hi Paul, good to see you here! As Damian and Jason have suggested, log onto the shiny new SCG forum http://501scg.com and make yourself known. Brother J knows us too well, we are having our first armour party this weekend in Newcastle. If you can get up there on such short notice on sunday, you could see a couple of different versions of TK armour, and meet your local 501st members. Otherwise, we have so many new cadets at the moment that we are likely to be having another armour day in a couple of weeks, and it will be in Sydney, rather than up the coast.
hope to see you soon,
Dave.

Nice work , Scotty, congrats ! See you at Supanova

Hi Xenor , welcome to the FISD !
I know its 3 or 4 hours away , but we are having a troop in Goulburn in a couple of weeks . You are welcome to come and join in and see what happens on the average weekend troop
Btw , get Jason to your place as soon as you can, he does a mean set of armour

Don't worry, I read it wrong too
I'm sure it's a typo that will get fixed.
Damnit , I just riveted my sniper plate to my right calf !!
It's about bloody time the CRL's were put in place, well done to all involved
-
Chris , mine arrived , safe and sound .
Thanks mate
-
Hi Kristen , welcome to the home of all things white plastic , the FISD !!
There are 2 TK's in Tassie that I know of , Woppo and Nick , and quite a few across the water in Victoria . Have you joined up at the Terror Australis Garrison forum yet ? We are your local garrison .
Are you going to the Tassie Scifi con in May ? There will be a whole heap of us down there for our yearly Garrison get together . Lots of fun and shenanigans

I thought that the blue dots were a little too light, but that could be the flash from the camera.
Yeah , they do look a bit pale . Walter , are they just washed out by the camera ?
Looking good mate , a couple of bits to fine tune , and you'll be there

Garreth , I can't say that I've ever looked at the holster that comes with the FX suit , but the ANH Elite standards only have this to say :
# Holster is worn on the left
# Holster must be attached to the belt from behind instead with no loops covering the outside of the belt
Unless it looks like a total piece of rubbish , and it doesn't comply with the standards , it should be ok . Of course , if you get one of the snazzy holsters you can get from some of the blokes here , you'll probably be happier with it . Remember , you can always upgrade later .

2 weeks ago - 120 deg F. Lately, better at 86. Fires in the South, floods in the North and West. Wouldn't live anywhere else but Oz.
Brother J speaks the truth . Oz is awesome !
2 weeks ago , we dropped from 113 deg F to 72 F over the weekend . Yesterday morning , it went from 66 , raining and windy , to 90, clear and humid by lunch time . Today , 88 F and about to rain .

Where there's a will , there's a way
I've found that when you have to go , it isn't that hard to get everything out and ready. It's getting everything tucked back in and comfortable that causes concern .
It's a bit like sitting in armour . When you need to , you will .

Chris , Paypal thingy sent .
Thanks

I had no problems getting my Chelsea boots . Just went to my local horsey/ riding shop , and they had heaps to choose from . Paid $49 AU , and $5 for shoe dye . Painted them that night . Comfortable TK boots in a day . CAboots have got nothing on these little beauties
-
Thanks muchly
-
It belongs on a TD plain and simple. LOL
Indeed . There was a bloke in our garrison who was adamant that he was going to wear a pauldron with his Officers costume and " it looks damn good " . He was persuaded otherwise ...
-
Hi Chris , any chance of being put on the waiting list for 2 of these little beauties ?
I don't often wear my officers costume , but these would really finish it off
-
Congrats Garth , fantastic work !! Hope to see you on a troop one day
-
Hey nice catch. Wonder where they got the crates of them?
A bloke in our squad worked for one of the telephone companies here in Oz . He mentioned that he used to strip them out of the telephone exchanges when they refurbished them . Reckons he threw hundreds , if not thousands ,of them away
-
Graeme , we need to get together for an armour day . Generic hobby paint probably isn't going to cut it . Your local Bunnings now stock Rustoleum , but you'll have to ask for it . The warnings on it don't comply with Australian standards , so they don't keep it on the shelves I've been using it recently , and it works a treat . I've got some primer from work that sticks to plastic really well . Grab some rustoleum and I'll come over and we can spray away
-
Congrats Jason , you've done a great job !!
Thankyou, thankyou all.Not sure about this cleaning detail tho
Well.... someone has to do it ... the Deathstar is a grubby place .
