I hope to keep doing this until I'm totally grey - it's a huge load of fun. Cheers
Mate, that doesn't really give you much time...

I've no idea what the KW helmet is but it seems Mike sells decals especially for it:
http://members.cox.net/appstronaut/kw_anh.html
Looks like an FX face plate with a smaller, more rounded dome.
Looks to be one piece. Fibreglass or resin? Unusual looking bucket.
-
Easy pass I'd say...
Agreed.
Paul, looks great
Thanks again Terry!
This pic is the winner!!

Hehe, when I saw the title of this thread I thought it was going to be a new member introduction from a red headed Aussie.
Congrats mate, Bluey is a time honoured Aussie nickname. Wear it proudly

Hi Darren, shiny looking build
Couple of things I've noticed.
1) Your drop boxes are attached with black elastic. They need to be done with white.
2) Your helmet frown is painted a bit big. The paint should not touch the "lips". Yours is painted in more of an ROTJ style.
3) I'm sure your Ab buttons will be painted in the correct colours, but I can't really tell from the photo, it is a bit dark. Maybe a new photo?
Mate, almost there

I know the T-21 has a sling, but I was wondering if anyone has attached a sling to either the DLT-19 or the MG-15? While not canon, it would certainly make sense, particularly from a trooping perspective. I think it could look good if a sling similar to the T-21 sling was used, but I'm not sure about placement. Any reference pics or others would be appreciated!
Yep, I've got a sling on my DLT-19. Just bought an MG34 sling from evilbay.
Looks sort of like this:

I don't see a mark as to maker and am not sure if this is home made or what
Anyone want to own up to producing this one?
Anyone?
-
Mark, confused...if he's 2" shorter than your 6'1", then that makes him 5'11"?
There's 12" in a foot.
Some nice 2 inch heals?
-
a loose belt? lot's of us have loose belts!
Not so much since I put on those 20 lbs
Paul, looking good, but maybe get those pics taken by your garrison mates. They will have a much better understanding of what you want.
I remember my EIB pics took over an hour before I was happy with them, and I know my missus would knife me well before that sort of time span had passed.

Does 18 hours in an aeroplane count as an out of country troop? CV rocked!!!
Ricky, once you've been bitten by the bug, you'll go just about anywhere to chuck on the plastic, and have fun with your mates.
Working weekends sucks. I try to work my roster out well in advance, that way I can get to the troops that mean the most to me. I normally do 2 12 hour drive troops a year, and I try to work them into my annual holidays.

Melbourne, Garden City of the South.
Indeed, 4 seasons in 1 day!
Mate, if you need any hands on help, the guys from TAG http://forum.501tag.com/index.php? ( your local garrison ) are an awesome bunch. Give them a yell if need anything

Hi Josh, welcome to the FISD!
As it looks like you already know, you can find just about anything stormtroopery here
Which bit of Oz are you from?

As has been mentioned many times in this thread, it can often take ages for stuff to come. My TE2 took just on 6 months to get to my door, and a helmet I got from the UK actually spent 4 months from the time it was posted to the time it arrived... Surface mail is a killer.
Justice, mate, it'll get there

A cross between William Shatner, and something crappier, then worse.
I turned Ted Mulrey Gang "jump in my car" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMBLhdv_b6k down to watch that, and I'm pretty sure I lost out.
Mike, thanks mate

IMHO IIRC there was a thread at FISD to help out NLYS. I'm sure someone will BAS PDQ, BICBW. BOT TE and TE2 along with AP are the original helmet and armour supliers ALW GINO who is a NPOW. TM, RT MOD, AM among others are fine fan sculpts and ATA, CAP, and PT are new versions of accurate armour. Check out CFO for ROTJ LOL.
OTTR FAWC before buying is to read, read, read and GWWB for you, and remember BBW, CE, KIBO and OGTDA LOL.
TAFN TTFN and if you get stuck DFTW and WSWWCCUW
I seem to have developed a headache.

I've got 2 more on the way, ESB ( need to finish my E-11 ), and HWT ( need to finish my TD backpack).
I suppose that ANH Hero aint out of the question either. Need to build a new belt/holster combo, and paint my bucket.
Of course, all of these require me to actually do some work.

apparently thr gml never sends it up to the lmo.
the lmo has seen the costume and said ok but my garrison still said no therefore i would not be able to troop in said costume..
Thought so. As a Garrison Co, I get to see all the EU applications that the GML's send to Thomas. Never saw yours If your GML never puts it up, then the costume doesn't exist.
Bugger
-
Yes, that is my understanding, and hence my confusion as to why the UK GML seems able to override the LMO when other GML's cannot.
For EU stuff, the GML applies to the LMO for approval. If the GML never actually asks the LMO for approval, then the LMO has no say in the matter.
Blaine, did you apply directly to Thomas, or was it through your GML?
Sometimes you can go outside the box

I just rummaged through a bunch of boxes and pulled out all of my bits and pieces. Just compared AP, ATA, TE, TE2, and Gino V2.
By eye, nothing noticeable. Faceplate pressed to faceplate, a millimetre or 2 here and there. Nothing serious. The smallest one, top to bottom, was the TE, and the biggest was the TE2. As mentioned, there was only millimetres in it.
Conclusions? I didn't use any measuring device but... they all look to be about the same size...

We had the pleasure of trooping the Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit for the 6 months it was in Sydney in 2008/2009. I don't know how many times I stood beside that suit, thinking what a piece of dren it was. It looked like someone had poured porridge into a mould. What a mess... How awesome is it!
I don't know enough about ROTJ suits to say if it is a movie suit, or a tour suit. One or the other. I took maybe 20 or 30 pics of it before the end of the exhibit, but they still remain on my camera, and technophobe that I am, will probably stay there.

Southern Cross Garrisons main event every year is an event called Supanova. We get 2 tables every year. Costs us $480. For this, we get 6 tickets to the event. We then get as many entry tickets as we can use, at $25 a ticket.
What makes a 501st member any different from every other fan group member? We shouldn't be expecting any special privileges, just because we are members of the 501st Legion.
The 501st Legion rocked CV, but we still had to pay to get in.
-
Craig, what you are asking is a bit vague. What exactly did you want measured?
You may be better off getting in touch with your local Garrison, and asking the guys if you can compare a couple of sets of armour in person.
Hands on is a lot better than written down figures.

Gentlemen, hope you have had a great day

Legion ID 351 was taken, so I added an 8 to the front of it.
