Yep, I know my local area
We've trooped the Children's Christmas party at both Richmond and Williamtown, and look like doing both again this year.

Hi Harry, welcome to the home of all things Stormtroopery.
You are based at Richmond? We have 2 Air Force folk associated with the Southern Cross (NSW)Garrison, one based at Richmond (although, she is deployed at the moment) and one at Williamtown.
Have a good look around here, there is everything you need to build yourself a fantastic Stormtrooper costume. For something closer to home, come and join up at the forum of your local Garrison at http://501scg.com/forum
See you around

Hi Andy, welcome to the FISD
Which bit of Oz do you come from? There are a bunch of folk with white armour in Australia, but we would need to know who you are near

Mr Mitchell Laine has been mentioned on this forum before:
He has gone by a couple of names, and a couple of ages.
http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=11148&st=0&p=139135&fromsearch=1entry139135
He keeps appearing.
He generally puts pictures of other peoples stuff up, and says it is his.
He isn't a prop maker, he is just a bastard who likes ripping people off.

Happy Birthday, mate. Hope you are having an awesome day

Me no likey! I prefer the white...
Same here. I'm running FF4, and it just looks dark and dismal

I've got 4 different trooping E-11s, a base Hasbro, painted black, a doopydoo'ed hasbro ( I've not used this one for years), a basic pipe build, and a you-beaut pipe build with all the bells and whistles.
I never thought I'd troop with a Hasbro again, but we recently did 4 Weird Al gigs, and there was no way I was going to jump around on stage with either of my pipe builds. So, painted Hasbro it was. I think they have their place.
Btw, they are all illegal in Australia, so I can get arrested for carrying any of them. The "I have a Hasbro because it won't get me arrested, and a pipe build will" spiel doesn't cut it here

Mathias,
if people are willing to pay more, of course. But I doubt it that there'll be any interest.
Karin, we pay anything up to $500 US to get a suit of armour sent to Australia, so I don't think a bit extra for hand guards is going to bother anyone.

Just looking at my Gino V2, and my TE2, and although neither of them is as pronounced as yours, the indentation is still there in both of them.
Leave it as is

The TKC.
Thanks, Paul. Would help if I read the thread title
-
Sean, which costumes CRL are you looking at? ANH stunt?
-
Hi, Elwyn

Lisa!!
Good to see you come out of the shadows
I can't praise TM's product enough. My kit is at least 3rd hand, and ancient, but it is still the most awesome armour I've seen. You won't go wrong with it.
This is the place for everything Stormtroopery. Read and ask.
Dave.

Hi Matt, welcome to the FISD, the home of all of us Stormtroopers.
Mate, have a look around. The search function is your friend. Everything you need to know about building a TK costume is contained in these forums. Enjoy

try officeworks mate. they are very likely to have them
I tried Officeworks first, and they didn't have the right ones.
Shawn, I have a heap, and am happy to send you a set. May be a bit cheaper than having Brian send you a set.
-
I'll have to head out to office supply shops in the area, then. I prefer the convenience of delivery but sometimes I've got to get out of the house, I suppose.
Maybe you could buy a newspaper, or a coke or something, and make it worthwhile?

Anyone find these online anywhere? Living in Australia, I'm having a devil of a time finding something in the correct size. I haven't found anything that lists brads with the correct cap diameter... 3/8" or 9.375 mm. It's aggravating since I only need some for my thigh ammo belt. If anyone knows of an online source I'd appreciate hearing about it. The above link doesn't work as they won't ship internationally.
I looked on eBay and found the correct size but those particular sellers won't ship outside of the U.S.
Shawn, I popped in to my local newsagent, and found a pack of 30 for $2.50. I haven't measured them as yet, but, to my untrained eye, they look to be the right size.

LOL! I saw that an also accepted spelling is Bollox, but the Sex Pistols get the win!
Indeed.
Back on topic:
So why is Matt saying he is not TE?!
I think he said he is not going by that name any more. Not denying that it was him.
Lets face it, the guy couldn't lie straight in bed. Don't expect consistency from him.
-
Also, the word is BOLLOX or BOLLOCKS!
Thank you Karin, the Sex Pistols should always be our ambassadors of the English language
Bollocks it is!!

here you go:link
Thanks
It's Friday night, I'm relaxing and sipping on a single malt, watching a game in the Cricket World Cup, and reading that Facepage page just made my day

So what I am asking is who connects us with GL
Generally, when LFL want to talk to someone in the 501st, either in the Legion Command, or down to Garrison level, the Fan Relations people ( the soon to retire Steve Sansweet, and Mary Franklin ) get in contact. These are the people who actually do the talking about events and stuff.
I've seen Albin post that he has been in contact with uncle George on 501st business, and I know there are a few folk who seem to know him, but I think that probably has nothing to do with the 501st, they just know him.
On a personal level, I was in Georges presence 3 times at CV, twice within 18 to 20 inches of him, and I may as well have been a fleck of fly poo on the wall.

Congrats mate
Paul, you and all of the staff do an amazing job.
Thanks
Dave.

Thank you, Pat. You've made my day
Congrats

White Spirits, or Mineral Turps are the way to go. Both work fine with enamel paints.
Mineral turps is cheaper, about $3 /litre here in Australia. Much cheaper than the dinky little cans that Humbrol sell.
Canvas strap bleaching. Help needed, please.

Hi all, I've recently found a roll of the same vintage cargo strap that Wyatt had a little while ago.
Yay, you may well say... only problem is, it is olive drabish in colour.
I've tried bleach, and dye remover on it, and it just goes weird colours.
Left, original colour, middle, 20 minutes in bleach, right, an hour in dye remover.
Anyone know anything about this stuff, and any way to get it looking whiter?
I'm trying to get my hands on some white fabric dye, but have not been able to find any locally.
Thanks in advance,
Dave.
