Pyrates AP Build and Journey to The 501st
Pyrates replied to Pyrates's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Update: Thighs and forearms are almost complete (again lol) and I have started installing snaps. I'm also trying something new again for the kidney plate so that the straps still bends but also maintains CRL requirement of minimal gap between the kidney and the posterior plate. I have also got my sewing machine out again for straps. Currently working on finishing the ammo belt and holster. Finally a decision on my current helmet: Trooping Hero bucket (for when I need to see) with flat lenses so I will have to finish painting it after all - ahh well good exposure and training. I will pop in my current bubble lenses then use Dan's Velcro system for the flats. The plan is to leave my bucket till last - focus all efforts on completing the armor. If I can get my helmet done to get Basic entry then I will do it. When my White Diesel with Hemi Truck shows up from across the pond I will go knocking on Tony and Andrew's door. I can feel that electricity in the air again - imperial energy ohhhh yaaaa! -

Pyrates AP Build and Journey to The 501st
Pyrates replied to Pyrates's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Decisions [emoji23] I still like the idea of having two hero helmets as because the bubble lenses in the TM come secured (and I don't want to pull anything apart on that bad boy) And I'm referring to the T-21 (Ho, ho, ho - sounding like Tim the Toolman) Light repeating blaster - Awww yaaa rebels come get some[emoji23]! On the Hero note I plan on getting a SE-14R, looking into making the grappling hook with com kit, and I have a Darth Maul Replica Props saber to convert to a TK Laser Sword but for now I'm focused on just getting the armor finished and getting my number. -

Use boiling water to slowly bend the shoulder straps in the form you want and it won't melt them.

Nooo! Keep the hair dudette - if you're doing pads then maybe "Pippy" braids then use those small Velcro straps for bundling cords on your braids and you will be able to tack it into you're helmet to another piece of Velcro secured inside - make sense? With hair as long as yours you will be able to take it on and off with the least chance of pulling hair. -

Is it possible to do a loose pony tail then stick it under your neck seal or maybe a samurai bun at the lowest part of your hair line so it doesn't catch on your hard hat liner? -

Is there any way to position your back plate down allowing for more space between the shoulder strap area? If so then extra strap won't be required. You may have to increase the white shoulder elastics - [emoji106] -

Extremely generous of you mate - thank you so very much - all is good and under control - it won't be necessary. Bucket off to you none the less my friend - and another great reminder of the stellar individuals here in the FISD community. I love this place. -

Yes there is, however it's a high risk operation - and no worries mate! Adapt and overcome is my bread and butter - I have always looked to the needs of others before my own and wouldn't change a thing if I was able to go back. It's just who I am. -

If I could afford a TM suit - I would mate and of course at friends discount. Alas, my helmet is going to cost the same as my armor due to the exchange rate and I'm already in the hole with the extras I bought to convert this helmet. If I win the lottery though you will be first to know[emoji106][emoji23] - with my luck as of late I have better chances being hit by a satellite rofl -

Don't worry my friend - I'm committed to this build and not giving up - this one just stung a little as I've committed all that time to converting the helmet and started painting and you all know how much I love painting [emoji23](dripping with sarcasm)
