  1. Congratulations good buddy! Can't wait to join you! sorry I'm replying a little late I got a stomach bug out of no where and have been bed ridden all day Really proud of you bro!
  2. lol the old lady posted this pic on facebook as "Str8 outta da death star"
  3. I have 2 years now I'm scared lol but in all seriousness it's coming together
  4. I screwed up. It's my fault, I probably used too much soap. I won't screw this up next time.
  5. I really want to go to an armour party soon, I wonder if the Great Lakes Garrison has anything going on in Detroit other than Motor City Comic Con... I'm so much closer to Michigan than all y'all up near the GTA. Windsor is small city I only know of one 501st TK here and he never is on FISD.
  6. That looks like the best damn fillet I've ever seen... lol Angie and I were just talking about nicknames! This is going to get messy. Fillet isn't too bad! I've grown to like mine
  7. THat's what I did with one of my decals but these ones were not your decals Mark. They were from trooperbay. and it totally took the sticky part off...
  8. Congratulations on 1500 posts General!
  9. Well good news guys. I reached out to Mike Appling from trooper bay and he is sending me a complimentary set!
  10. Good Eye Andy! that's good to know! and Also yep I talked to Brett and he sent me one without the cylinders or the counter good to go bud! I'll send pics when she comes in which will likely be tonight.
  11. hmmmm That might be a good Idea, I could ask Mark from AP too, the decals can be ANH grey too they just can't look hand painted. I don't even really like the bluer tint on these ones.
  12. It's honestly not thaaaaat bad sometimes I just need to say f-it and deal with it. I reached out to Mike Appling to see if he could help me out. THe issue is going to be scraping the E6000 I stupidly put under the cheek and the CA I put under the left back decal. In hind sight I wish I could go back in time and slap myself in the face before I did something so stupid lol and then go back before I took the heat gun to the ear and slap myself in the face twice and say that's for the heat gun and this ones for the stupid mistake you're going to make in a month when you didn't follow the instructions on FISD and trooperbay's videos before you started sticking decals all over the place you friggin idiot LMAO.
  13. Well I would my man, the problem is Traps/tears and tube stripes shall be decals (with the correct ESB details), no hand-painting or decals that replicate hand painted. :'(
  14. Well the problem is I already bought these from trooper bay. They cost like 50 bucks shipped here I used the soap and water method AFTER I screwed these up... I only need a left cheek and 2 back of the helmet ESB decals I can't justify buying a new set for a bit of ugliness. Yeah it's bubbly and smushed looking but screw it.
  15. Especially if you're like me and need to mistakes before learning your lesson... I think I've far surpassed the $1700 CAD mark by now :L Which for our friends to the south is like $1.75 USD lol
  16. Had a really sh*tty time with decals yesterday. the left cheek decal got all scuffed and bubbled as well as both back decals. you can't really tell from far away but up close it's driving me insane. It lost it's stickiness and had to be glued down so we'll call it battle damage esthetic... Really pissed about this. There's nothing that can be done about it but I'm sure a lot of newbies out there has little quirks and kinks in their armour that photos can't capture
  17. You'll get it done before your expo for sure. I have my eyes on the Motor City Comic Con... ha what a pipe dream
  18. Awesome as always Walter and Thank you guys for helping me out it goes a long way comrades!
  19. Thanks Tony and sorry for being pain I just really want to make this the best I can. I dont have the satin gloves and already have the other parts. Sorry Walter as well. I just wanted to be clear on this because I'm really following this thread closely for my build.
  20. So they don't have to be sewn.
  21. Hand Plates For 501st approval: These shall be clam shell, or snowtrooper-style hand plates and not the trapezoidal design seen in A New Hope. The hand plates shall be mounted securely over the back of the glove. For level two certification (if applicable): If rubber gloves are worn the hand plates are affixed via an elastic strap over the palm. If silk or satin gloves are worn, the hand plates have the correct visible stitching pattern using black cotton, with a five point/star pattern, equally spread out with 2 on each side and 1 in the middle front, and needs to be double stitched at each point. Gloves For 501st approval: Black in color, made of either rubber, nomex, leather, or leather-like material, with no visible straps or logos/designs. The fingers are enclosed, non-textured. For level two certification (if applicable): Gloves shall be black rubber or rubber- like chemical gloves or black silk or satin. The CRL doesn't have a Centurion Requirement column for Gloves and handplates and it doesn't say they have to be sewn, there are 2 options. This is where I'm confused.
  22. I bought white velcro too, but I'm still working on Arm armour... I didn't do anything last night, The old lady needed all my attention :L lol
  23. Not a bad idea Angie, very interesting!
