  1. I just let rip! The only problem I have is that I do have to have a bath or shower every 3-4 troops!
  2. |Mike, I'm sure you know what your doing but the way you pull that craft blade towards your thumb on the eyes is scaring the s*** outa me! great vids though and will be a big help to anyone building a lid. Mark
  3. Hey Andy, I've seen you on the RPF! I snagged a real MPP flashgun on ebay for $260 a short while back, not sure if that's a real bargain or not but I was happy as they are as rare as rocking horse S***! and a real Graflex for $100. Not from ebay but I also got about 10 large and 10 small Glenross dental expanders for DV reveal for nothing but the price of some phone calls to hospitals and dentists and got about 35 photomultiplier tubes (vents on the reveal) for £50. I swapped 1 small expansion screw with Portumac on ebay for a fiberglass cast of DV reveal, Face, Dome and neck seal! Mark.
  4. Yeah, what they all said. I have a pair of Stompers with speakers and they're GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT! I also have a few SDS Hovis that are injection molded two parters and they seem very good, sharp details but not having an original to compare with I wouldn't know who's are the most accurate. But for ease I would say Stompers or Keiths as you can get them right here.
  5. I am a member but I never seem to feel the need or the want to visit. I have had run ins with him before and he is very quick to judge and lord over people before even getting to know them. That in my book is enough to put me off, after all life is to short. <_< I joined in this whole hobby thing to enjoy myself and collect screen accurate props To be told everything is SH*! unless I have cast or sold it just doesn't wash with me. It's all very well having access to original props and knowing everything in the universe about them and having great casting and modeling skills but never actually letting anybody or very, very few lucky people have the privilege of buying something doesn't really contribute to the enthusiasts and hobby community in a very positive way.(IMO) I personally have nothing against Gino and think he is good at what he does, but he ain't helping me, and probably never will now! Just my 2 cents worth.
  6. That's great, Thanks.
  7. Aaron, The two prongs at the end of the cylinder base should be inside the tubes. The tubes don't rest on the prongs. Not sure if prongs is the right word but hopefully you know what I mean. If you look at the photos. At the start of this thread you will see what I mean. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?show...power+cylinders Mark.
  8. Hi mate, it's about 30mm with a slight bend.
  9. Do you mean Stompers Hovi's?
  10. Hi , I have a pdf of the older manual as well if anyone needs it. before they change the mode set up and PTT. Mine is about 4 years old!! Jim didn't always send cd's ,not in the early days of the amp anyway. Mark..
  11. If you talc powder the molds before pulling the abs they will come out easier, also using an air gun helps big time.
  12. I know crazy! I was told that instead of. $175 I had to pay it would have cost $300! direct from Canada.
  13. My Ap just turned up in the UK after ordering it months ago. I just found out for him to ship to the UK he has to first ship it to NY in US then on to the UK as it is apparently cheaper that way. Mark is in Canada. When it was shipped on the 14th Dec from NY it only took 5 days to reach me. I first ordered it in the middle of Sept!
  14. It's only a flesh wound a mere scratch , com'on come and get it! Holy Grail.......... I love it.
  15. I too have lost many close friends over the years but not this close . I have only just stumbled over this post and my thoughts are with you. Time is a great healer , even if you don't think so now. All I can say say is stay strong and it will get better. Believe me just think of the good times. Mark.
  16. Just sending you some stuff over now, might take a while to come through.
  17. Hey , not bad sprayed black they'll look even better!
  18. Thanks, I thought they might be helpful. They are not too hard to build just a bit fiddly!
  19. Aaron, I you shoot me over your Email address I can send you a template for the bracket. Mark.
  20. That's a beautiful looking helmet, I want one now.
  21. OK so I think we have established that what AA says and has said is not what it's all cracked up to be. Maybe we will never know the exact history to all this as it has been lost over time and I should take what he says with a pinch of salt. That said he did still form the originals and he should at least get some credit for being a part of what is so close to all our hearts. We all enjoy building, wearing and looking at what is a fantastic bit of cinema history and design . Whoever created the Armor or molds etc is not really that important, what is important is that we enjoy doing what we do. I believe that is escaping the real world and immersing ourselves in something that had a huge impact on us all as children and that has stuck with us. I know there are alot of people that get very protective about the Stormtrooper subject but it is a hobby and they are still only characters from a film. It's not real, It's not real, It's not real............ Sorry I have to remind myself sometimes. It is an addictive thing this prop building lark, I have made Lightsabers, blasters, armor and buckets and I think I get a little obsessive about it too. Or at least my wife thinks so anyway! Luckily my daughter is still a bit young ( 13 Months ) to get embarrassed by her fathers Star Wars Obsession I am a still a boy with more (a little more) money and a few more wrinkles! Mark. I will take on board what has been said and I have become a little wiser thanks to all you knowledgeable people. This is why I love this place.
  22. Calm down guys, I was only trying to help those interested in the bumps . As Andrew Vac Formed the helmets and and painted them I thought he might be able to shed a little light in this mystery. I thought I would share this info wether it is correct or not with anyone that might be interested. He doesn't know I am a member of this forum. I just slipped the subject into a conversation and that is what I was told. I am sorry there are a lot of bad feelings towards this man but my intention was just to share some new info I was given. I will indeed read all of the court decision and maybe learn a bit more about this. Cheers, Mark
  23. Thanks for your input. I still don't understand why no-one believes what Andrew says? Do any of the people who say don't believe Andrew actually know him? Or spoken to him? I'm not protecting him in anyway but I still am at a loss to why he gets slagged off so much? Yes he was taken to court by GL and won to a certain extent which would suggest to me that there must be some truth to his claims. He has said that he sculpted all the original molds and that there is a guy called Matt something or other that put a great deal of malicious rumors out there about him that a lot of people seem to have taken for gospel. This guy has been dropped from a certain number of forums for just this reason. He also wanted to go into business with AA at one point but was dropped from that too which would also suggest to me that there is some bad history between the two. hence the rumors! I don't pretend to know a huge amount about this subject but it seems strange to me that the one person who made all of the original Stormtroopers for the films gets so much bad press? Remember you are all wearing a copy of something that Andrew originally made. I don't want this to get all nasty and argumentative again as so many of these posts seem too. All I wanted to do was shed a little light on a subject that seems shrouded in mystery and maybe help give a little info to those who are interested. Too many of you seem so quick to jump on the "lets slag off AA given any opportunity" I didn't want this to happen again as it has to so many of my posts. He really is a very likable guy and hugely helpful to me anyway with any questions or problems I have had with the Stormtrooper subject. If any one has something constructive to add please feel free but not if it is just to say don't believe anything I hear. Thanks guys, Mark..
