Liquid solvent cement is all I use for my armour and helmets. You don't even need to remove anything. Just clamp the ear tight and apply the liquid to the seam. Done.
With cutting the abs, just start with smaller pieces. The arms are good. Start by trimming the curves at the ends. Make sure you use a nice sharp blade and think about where you are holding the parts in relation to where you are pull the blade. Apply moderate pressure and scribe a line into the abs where you want it to be trimmed to. You can go over it a couple of times. Cut through one end then put the blade down and apply inwards pressure to the part you want off. It should carry on coming apart following the scibe line. When you've done the ends the straight side parts should be a breeze. With the straight parts just lean on a table and pull towards you with the blade in one smooth action and it should be a fairly straight cut. Bend and snap off. Do the same on the other side.
Your first piece is done.
Once you gain more confidence it will become easier. Start slow and double think every cut before you cut.
Good luck.
I have my Millennium Falcon, ATST, ATAT , canon and some figures. Most in original boxes. I also have the complete collection of TOPS cards with stickers from all three OT.
I just tried to reply to a PM. I tried a few times, then shut the window and relaunched the forum and tried again, then shut chrome and relaunched that but kept getting the same message..... It was only happening on PM's not on posting in the forums!
Hi, I cannot reply to any pM's? Is there another problem? I keep getting the ForbiddenYou don't have permission to access /forum/index.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache Server at www.whitearmor.net Port 80 I take it it is another problem with ongoing problems?
Thanks for all the tips. I hadn't tried the titles only option. I did try the advanced search to no avail.
I tried Hovi, hovi's, mic tips , tips, mic's etc etc. lol
I'll try the options you guys suggested next time.
Is it just me or does anyone else have a terrible time trying to search stuff on this forum? I often try and look up old threads not just started by me but any threads in general. I was trying to find my old Mic Tip sale thread and the only way I could do it was to go to my profile and find topics by me and scroll down to it. If I tried searching "mic tips" I get nothing? in fact if I try search pretty much anything I get nothing. Am I doing it all wrong? I've tried searching posts, forums etc and get the same nothing results....... Very frustrating.
Good advice!
My workshop is only 21 sq meters 7 x 3 so it won't need too much heating....
I must decide where everything is going then I can run air line hose to the places I need to. I'm already thinking I need a bigger space for everything I want in there but to this day my workshop has been a B&W workbench outside the back door, so whatever I have is more than I have ever had!
The compliments are justified, you've done a great job on this Sterling rebuild and E11 conversion.
cheers!
I can't believe I have missed this "EPIC" Sterling restoration and E11 build! This is above and beyond what I have ever seen before!
This is totally inspiring and makes me want to learn welding!
I have a Sterling parts kit sitting in the cupboard waiting for something to happen like this.................
Just need to buy some more man machines and tools....... To put in my workshop that's being built as we speak....
Thanks for such a great thread...
