  1. I'm a bit late to the party but....... The easiest way to bend the shoulder straps is to put them in a pre heated oven at about 160 and heat them for about 45 seconds and take them out with a pair of oven gloves and bend them over a small saucepan with straight side or something similar....... Just watch them in the oven, if you leave them too long they will turn into flat plastic again! I'm using 2 mm ABS.... Yours looks like HIPS... but I might be wrong... in which case heating times may differ... You will get a much more uniformed curve if you do it this way opposed to heating with a gun which will just give you hot spots and it will kink in those hot spots like your have done. Good luck! Mark.
  2. Thanks! I forget how many times I've looked theough Jez's site thinking I "need" one of those.
  3. Thanks for all your kind comments. Yes, it is a great site and I still consider it the holy grail of Star Wars websites when it comes to costumes, screenused, licensed and fan made....It is still a great reference site even 10 years on.....
  4. The only poppers used are for the strap on your cod and the helmet chin straps....Everything else is glued elastic and velcro....... and Velcro sewn to elastic.
  5. That Hose looks good and yes it will be OK cut down. You can screw up trimming of armour but if you score with a Stanley blade, bend and snap it will break following the score line. So as long as you are careful with your scoring you can't really go wrong. If you do you can make good.....but it will just take longer to build if you are correcting errors through not being careful and double thinking every score.... Just make sure as well as double thinking every score you also tripple think the position of your hand and fingers that aren't holding the blade! I know it sounds an obvious thing to do but you'll be surprised how many close shaves I've had in the years of assembling armour. TM/Paul will attest to that! The correct strapping on ROTJ is glued in elastic and velcro.... As long as it's secured/glued properly it's a very strong system and you should not have any problems with it.... Yeah, Velcro will need replacing every now and then but it's accurate. I use Stelmax white..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stelmax-White-Professional-grade-strong-adhesive-135g-/280469901939?pt=UK_Crafts_Cardmaking_Scrapbooking_Glue_Tape_EH&hash=item414d4f1273 I use Liquid solvent cement on my armour and helmets..... http://www.ema-models.co.uk/index.php/liquid-solvent-cement-500ml.html
  6. Yep, eFX is way better....... If you want an OT Vader...
  7. Thanks bud. I sent him a message too but no reply. Oh well. He obviously does not care about recasting other work and calling it and selling it as his own. Shows you what kind of person he is.
  8. Hi Derrek, No, when we started we had plans to do this but as I am on my own doing all the parts myself I just ship from here.... I do get a cheaper deal with DHL which I pass on to my customers. Also I am quite fussy about quality control and could not keep my eye on it all if it were elsewhere.....So for now it just all comes from me......
  9. Thanks everyone! I think Jez wants to do a review of my Oakley based helmet too..... Then I need to finish my other moulds and get reviews of those too.......too little time too much to do....
  10. Hi Guys and girls..... Jez has written a new review on my CFO JoeR ROTJ TK lid..... http://www.starwarshelmets.com/CfO_Armor_Helmet.htm Check it out and let me know what you think..... Your opinions count! Cheers!

  12. Ok, Propsplus is at again on ebay selling recasts of my mic tips.... It would be nice to bombard him with messages of concern about his listing.... Feel free....... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Star-Wars-Stormtrooper-Helmet-HOVI-Mix-Pa2-Mic-Tips-Complete-1-1-/261496484642?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3ce267b322
  13. Liquid solvent cement is all I use for my armour and helmets. You don't even need to remove anything. Just clamp the ear tight and apply the liquid to the seam. Done.
  14. With cutting the abs, just start with smaller pieces. The arms are good. Start by trimming the curves at the ends. Make sure you use a nice sharp blade and think about where you are holding the parts in relation to where you are pull the blade. Apply moderate pressure and scribe a line into the abs where you want it to be trimmed to. You can go over it a couple of times. Cut through one end then put the blade down and apply inwards pressure to the part you want off. It should carry on coming apart following the scibe line. When you've done the ends the straight side parts should be a breeze. With the straight parts just lean on a table and pull towards you with the blade in one smooth action and it should be a fairly straight cut. Bend and snap off. Do the same on the other side. Your first piece is done. Once you gain more confidence it will become easier. Start slow and double think every cut before you cut. Good luck.
