Vendor list for your FOTK weapons...
WhiteWalker replied to ukswrath's topic in Weapons of the First Order
Is anyone out there making fully finished F11-D blasters or rifles? Thought I had a vendor lined up but they stopped taking orders. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Opinions on Ulkswraths TK Audio System?

Absolutely! May not be as pretty inside the bucket as others, but it works for me! :-) -
Opinions on Ulkswraths TK Audio System?
WhiteWalker replied to Nada's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
I have the UKSWRATH audio and fan setup in my bucket and I’m very pleased with it. I love that everything is in the bucket, no wires to run down and out to connect somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Armor Life Expectancy?
WhiteWalker replied to WhiteWalker's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Thanks! I've got plenty of extra ABS and that's what I did, seemed like the logical approach. I'll take your advice and do a preemptive strike on the chest piece! -
Armor Life Expectancy?
WhiteWalker replied to WhiteWalker's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Just curious, how exactly did you reinforce the cracks? I'm about 40 troops in with my armor and the first small crack has appeared down near the bottom of the butt plate. -
So what's the problem with ANOVOS armor?
WhiteWalker replied to Redheadmetalhead's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Have no fear Robert! I've had my Anovos kit for over a year and I've had no problems at all with it, and I've taken it to Centurion level. There are also numerous other TK's in my squad with the armor that are happy with it as well. I also received the same bit of 'attitude' when I initially told people where I purchased my armor from, which happens more than it should unfortunately. I think you'll see troopers tend to prefer the armor they own, which makes sense. Another factor (and this is just my opinion) is that when this armor first came out, it was quite a bit cheaper than other makers and obviously that would annoy folks who paid more. It also opened the door to a lot more TK's joining the ranks. The vast majority of troopers are happy about this, but you'll always find a few that don't feel the same way. Anyway, don't worry about anyone giving you a hard time and good luck with your build! -
Anovos sound-off; how did you like yours?
WhiteWalker replied to imperialbrewer's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I purchased mine in the first wave pf preorders back at $350 and it was literally the offer you couldn't refuse. It took about 9 months to get it and I expected that so I have nothing negative to say on that, it was worth the wait. I've been wearing it now for a little over a year, about 35 troops and it's held up really well. I honestly think it looks just as good now as the day I finished assembly. It's the only armor I've ever owned so I can't say how it is vs. other makers, other than it works for me and has carried me to Centurion level. I have not experienced any cracking or breaks like some folks, I think different people have different experiences with any brand of armor. Just do a good job with your build, take care of it during and after each troop, and avoid situations where you might cause damage to it such as trying to sit, bending over too far, etc. -
Help Anovos armor getting scared.
WhiteWalker replied to Jebby10's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
You're good to go, nothing to worry about. I'm an ANOVOS Centurion and you will see very slight differences in shades of white between different troopers but that's fine. -
Making armor "thicker?"
WhiteWalker replied to Redheadmetalhead's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I think experiences will vary. My ANOVOS armor is over a year old with 32 troops in and it still looks as good as new. No cracks or damage anywhere. I assure you that I'm not babying it at all, a solid mix of indoor, outdoor, short, and long troops. I think as with anything, build it well and take care of it and it will hold up. Again, just my experience but I hope you have a similar one. -

EIB Armors By Year - 2017 version
WhiteWalker replied to themaninthesuitcase's topic in Announcements
Very interesting read, especially being one of those folks who joined the ranks of Stormtroopers with my ANOVOS kit last year. It's the only armor I know and its very cool to see the history of the other makers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Armor Life Expectancy?
WhiteWalker replied to WhiteWalker's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I can't speak for everyone of course but I've been very pleased with my Anovos armor. I'm by no means 'babying' it and it's holding up very well and I plan to keep trooping in it as long as possible. In theory it's plastic which means it should outlive all of us, but I know in practice that won't happen. However I would expect things like straps or snaps to wear out over time more quickly than the plastic would, and those are easy fixes. Also I followed Tony's build thread when I assembled it (don't use the Anovos instructions!) and I feel like I've got a really good solid build. I would definitely buy from them again. -
My Anovos TK armor is about a year old now since assembly and I've got about 25 troops in with it over that time. I'm probably a bit biased but I'd say it's still looking pretty sharp, no cracks, no visible damage, and still nice and clean. I've noticed some other troopers armor lately though around the same age and wear that looks like it's been through actual battle. Lots of small cracks, scratches, discoloration, repairs, etc. I'm fairly active when I troop so I don't think I'm treating it overly gentle that way, and I always give it a good once over quick cleaning within a day of wearing it. I don't feel like that's too crazy with the care of it, but it does have me wondering if there is there any particular 'life expectancy' with our armor? If we take reasonably good care of it, will it look good indefinitely for as long as we want to wear it?
