Might as well measure my foot, or go with the 12.5?

Good morning Troopers, I am getting ready to purchase my first pair of accurate boots from Imperial Boots when their run opens this Friday. I typically wear an 11.5 for my running shoes. I was thinking of getting a 12.5 or possibly even a 13 as I hear these boots run small. Should I go get my foot measured to be safe?

Congratulations and welcome Trooper. Here is a great read before your first troop. I read it in preparation for mine, and it has lots of great information in it, if you haven’t already seen it.

I was lucky and was able to get an Anovos OT TK kit when they first came out. I would definitely go with with another maker if I were to want to build another TK which I will most likely do, and make it a Sandy. I had so much fun making the armor and am looking forward to doing it again.

I agree with everyone else. Start a build thread. I never did, but will most likely do so on my next costume. I found during my build, that one person seemed to do something different than someone else, and it was helpful to have different takes on things. Also, depending on your level of expertise on building, I would recommend watching videos on YouTube. They helped me tremendously being able to “see things in motion”. Good luck on your build.

I am 6’2” and 240lbs. I have an Anovos Kit, and made proper mods to fit in. While I’m not familiar with ATA, I’m sure similar methods can be used to make the armor work.

I was trying to go EIB with my TK.

Am I correct in reading that the line 24 Snaps will have to be removed from the Ab to belt connection and are to be replaced by S snaps? Are the holes the same size for both those snaps?

As much as I read Tony’s Build thread, I always overlooked the belt since mine was already complete. Now that I’m trying to go EIB, I get to revisit his build thread for the belt.

I ordered a White Imperial Issue last night. What will it take to upgrade the belts once we get them?

I have begun some work on making my helmet more accurate. I am waiting for the correct screws to come in (thank you Joseph), and in the meantime, I am trying to put mesh in my mic tips that I got from Tony. I am struggling a bit on the first tip. I got most of it in, but there is a little section that doesn’t want to go in.

Thanks for the suggestion for painting the vocoder. I may try doing that as well.
