I have begun some work on making my helmet more accurate. I am waiting for the correct screws to come in (thank you Joseph), and in the meantime, I am trying to put mesh in my mic tips that I got from Tony. I am struggling a bit on the first tip. I got most of it in, but there is a little section that doesn’t want to go in.

Thanks for the suggestion for painting the vocoder. I may try doing that as well.

Hello Troopers, I bought some Mic Tip mesh from Ukwrath. I was wondering how to remove the fine mesh that is currently in my tips right now. It seems to be in there pretty good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m trying to achieve EIB I was going to fix the overspray on my frown using mineral spirits. Any recommendations on doing this? I am using a Q-Tip and rubbing the overspray, but it doesn’t seem to be coming off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have been debating on mounting my “lense” with brackets. Right now it is one piece, and on long troops it seems to cut into the bridge of my nose. Does anyone have any ideas on how to cut them into two pieces? Is there a good template to use for this?

I ended up ordering an Unlined Eisenhower from Dickies. Thanks to all for the awesome pictures, and ideas for a jacket. Im looking forward to getting my first patch on it.

I was thinking that one would be nice since it is a little lighter than a regular jacket. I live in Northern California so, like your region, it doesn’t get too cold (except last night LOL).

Hello Troopers, I was looking at a Jacket that I could put my 501st, Garrison, and FISD patches on. What do you guys use? I was thinking of getting the “Dickies Eisenhower”, but once I saw it in person, I was thinking I want to look around more. Feel free to share your thoughts, and maybe post a picture if you can.

----------- I made webbing connections from my shoulder bells to my biceps. Before I glue them in, I wanted some input. I made a stack of scrap that will fit in between the raised part of the bell, that way I can glue the plate down. Should I use E-6000? I noticed on the spot on the chest piece, in certain light, the plate gave me what I call “bat nipples”. I’m worried that will happen on my shoulder Bell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just the arms. I will see how they do once I switch to the snaps. I’ll report in nd let you know how they did after I troop this Saturday.

I did snaps on the inside of mine, but singles. I have not had problems with the torso, yet. So far, just the arms have been bugging me, so much that I got out of my armor shortly after I started my second troop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
