  1. And this is the very problem we have with using toys as reference, the manufacturer is not bound to screen accuracy as we've seen with many toys. For reference I would stick to Darren's last illustration considering this is most likely what the CRL will be based off of.
  2. Hey Greg long time no see brother. Pyre would be a awesome change up. Looking forward to your progress. As for the colors my original thought was the LFL standby Humbro #5 judging by the hand guards and Pauldron but then realized that could just be the lighting, or not. The Pauldron and hand guards are a different shade compared to the torso and biceps, but then again we're looking at a toy which is generally not that accurate. Darren has a decent suggestion but I'd like to see if we can find color palette from the artists themselves. Pick your poison.
  3. hahahaha
  4. Sorry for be the bearer of the news. For what its worth the archives photo your referred to is correct. Take a look at the lowest rivet. See the difference between it and the step in the Ab/ This distance should be roughly 10-15mm. Check with your GML regarding basic 501st approval. If you plan on applying for EIB or Centurion be aware you'll most undoubtedly be asked to correct it.
  5. And yes Praetorian makes beautiful blasters, I have a few.
  6. Awesome! another armor build
  7. Hey Dave looking good brother, sorry I've been absent. There are a couple areas you need to be aware of, one specifically that may hold you up from basic 501st approval. The screws you used on you bracket system are incorrect and very large. They should be "V" head and slotted. I've provided a reference photo. Your GML my not approve your armor however, please check with them to confirm. Your screws Reference photo The other area is the left side Ab/Kidney rivet placement. Sadly the lower 4 are in the wrong position. They should be positioned where I've provided a red dot using the photo you've provided. Again check with your GML for additional information. I've provided a reference photo for this area also. Your position Reference photo If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
  8. Wow that was fast. Looking great
  9. Great question, the FISD has never been in the habit of making someone pull out a ruler to check measurement. Specific numbers are generally to be used as a guideline. The term "little" gap used by Glen though broad would also allow for minor imperfections. Without it's absolutely black and white, no pun intended That said we've all heard the CRLs may be changing, to what extent has yet to be determined. Threads like this are where you can voice your facts, opinions and provide screen shots for reference.
  10. Looking forward to your build Mark If you have any questions feel free to ask away
  11. This is awesome. Almost wish I was going now.
  12. Hey Aaron, long time no see. I have a couple of Derrek's buckets. Nice work on yours
  13. A.J. I bet if you made a tool that could measure, cut and punch the holes I bet you could sell these to the community, heck I'd probably buy one. This is a fantastic idea
  14. Fantastic work on your armor Johan
  15. Great job on your armor Alicia. As for the arms, in addition to the strapping adjustments as Joseph mentioned dropping the biceps 1/2" or so will will even out the armor placement. Good luck with your approval
  16. Wow another happy customer thanks Ryan
  17. That's more like it. Thanks Glen
  18. Awesome! Gad to here you're still with us after your first troop. As much as you prepare yourself and your armor for that first event you just don't know until it's said and done. Nice job A.J.
