  1. Manu that is a sweet strapping system you have there, awesome!
  2. I predict generation 4 helmet electronic are just around the corner.
  3. That is an excellent idea Sebastian. Surprised I didn't think of that being I build high end gaming rigs for people. DOE!
  4. Ok, as much to your dissatisfaction as this is going to sound..... this is a grey area. Yes, besides the belt, that is all that holds the two together. The CRL even states the ab button does NOT need to be functional. If you look at movie snap shots this section is mess, inconsistent. It's the entry point of the armor so the most prone to look all jacked up IMHO. So, what to do? You can leave it be, or as I've seen others do make a tongue and grove connection between the two. Adam Toy in my garrison did, came out pretty cool.
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/STORMTROOPER-HELMET-DIGITAL-VOICE-CHANGER-SYSTEM-WITH-SPEAKER-MICROPHONE-/161578030362?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item259ecd151a
  6. I basically did the sake thing but glued on some black fabric.
  7. That's for sure. Brett if you're interested in the ROM/FX I believe he's doing a run as we speak. www.romfx.com
  8. Hytechtoys though a bit on the lower end of the spectrum is still a great concept, incorporating all your electronics in the helmet is a awesome idea. The big brother to the HTT is the ROM/FX, though significantly more expensive (total setup consisting of a modifier, amp, mic and speakers) the concept is the same. Those that have them, from what I've heard, love them. I'm not saying don't buy iComm/Aker however, If all incorporated is still your objective don't give up on it. Migrate up to the next level and sell off what you longer want to use.
  9. Regarding Hytechtoys, without an additional amp you would be correct. Their amp is not quite enough for louder areas.
  10. Really! You're killing me smalls!
  11. That's all you did while I was away? Very disappointing!
  12. When they say 501st approvable they mean basic. FX with an approved helmet is 501st basic approvable. This means nothing really. For $350 if it's better than FX than it's a plus. If it can made to be EIB or Centurion without too much updating and $ than it's a steel. Time will tell.
  13. Russell, try this. Put your shorter shoulder straps back on, throw on you belt, cinch it tight and see if things fall into place.
  14. Good maybe you'll have better luck than me. What are you using it with if you don't mind me asking?
  15. For a second there I thought I was seeing things . In your selfies the split rivets appear to be installed on the right side of your armor ...hahaha. Awesome job Andrew.
  16. I paid more for my DLT-19 (with electronics). This armor is a steal, today is the last day people.
  17. And here's mine if you're interested
  18. It's alright Pat you can make it dirty if it doesn't work out.
  19. Though the fan sculpt will be just as perfect as OE I suspect, if you had the choice and $ wasn't an option would you still choose to buy fan made? Though I have absolutely no problem buying fan made armor (because I have) if I'm going to shell out the kind of money these suits are probably going to cost I'd prefer to own the Rolls Royce and not its replica? If the the original trilogy TK was ever made available for sale, even in it's rough, heavy, unforgiving state, it would fly off the shelves at an astronomical price. The thing I love the most about costuming, options.
  20. Dang what's the thickness of your ATA strip Russell? I used a large exacto knife and a steel ruler. 1st cut along the ruler, remove the ruler a 3 more cuts and the strip splits with little effort. Maybe I have more muscles
