  1. Congratulations Daniel welcome to the ranks
  2. What!? You're an animal Justin. I commend you on your desire achieve perfection at such a time. Checkered flag is out in both areas.
  3. Learning curve, we've all been there. Pace yourself. Regardless of your body size don't trim off too much. If you do the arms and legs might look skinny in comparison to the torso which can only be cut so much without looking off. Your best bet is to trim all the sections to the same measurements mentioned in other TM tutorials. Afterwards perform a fitment check (tape sections together) to see what areas need to be fine tuned. Most troopers may need to add fabric foam to some part of their interior to stabilize the area. This is very common. When it comes to trimming I use scissors, exacto knife, Dremel and belt sander. Whatever you're comfortable with and have the best control over is what I recommend. Hope this helps
  4. Beautiful work Jasper
  5. Understood. The FISD always states "The accuracy of your armor is entirely up to you the owner" That said, cover strip widths were derived from movie armor measurements made by RS many years ago. These measurement photos can be seen in the gallery section here on the FISD. LFL, Disney and 501st have adopted a uniform look for all characters which the FISD follows by. This uniform look does not call out measurements on every section of armor however, since there are some areas that are mentioned the FISD has applied the same guidelines to the entire armor including cover strips. There's been some debate recently in other social media groups that it doesn't matter what the cover strip widths are because the movie armor strips varied in size. It's possible some of the movie suits may have been assembled with different specifications but if that were the norm I think we would have seen more of them by now. Anyway, the measurements we call out are guidelines, the FISD staff will never make you pull out a ruler to prove otherwise. Hope this helps
  6. This is what it should roughly look like when completed. It doesn't have to be perfect
  7. To answer your question no. That said is there a reason besides matching you want to go with 25 instead of 20?
  8. If you're shooting for accuracy here's some info. The TFA cap was draped in what was thought to be gaffer's tape. Here's a movie armor reference photo. Note the difference in material between the center decal and end cap.
  9. Awesome job Justin, this should be a breeze.
  10. Congratulations Gaines welcome to EI
  11. Hey Ryan credit card sized chargers work well also. Here's one I bought a couple months back. It appears it's currently not available but there's others that are similar. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W5F556K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  17. Glad to be of assistance
  18. Hey Andrei welcome to the FISD
  19. Very cool! nice work
  20. Looking good Diana, in addition to what's been mentioned above, the vertical Ab button plate shouldn't have any return edge on it and should be smaller than the raised surface on the Ab plate itself. Here's a reference photo
  21. Looking good Jared. On another note your COD looks a bit large in comparison to other sections of the armor. You might want to consider resizing it. Take a look at the CRL reference photos. https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_-_First_Order
  22. Bringing joy and even giggles is what it's all about
