  1. No worries Sean you're only required to produce the blaster and a action shot picture.
  2. Yes, we just want to see it for future reference but you're correct.
  3. Oh and your build is looking awesome btw.
  4. Yep, tough and pliable as the ABS itself, ok maybe a little tougher. As you'll soon find out this stuff melts the plastic a bit (like any other plastic welders) which creates a very strong bond. I applied it in flexible areas and it shows no sins of splitting or cracking. Look at some of my build pics, especially the accuracy upgrades, you'll see it being used as a filler. My yoke (upper shoulder) was so sharp after sanding I nearly cut myself, not exaggerating either. I had to go back and sand the point off. I use PPG spot putty for the holes, divots. I also used the Poly-flex for the same but don't like as much because you have to use a hardener. The spot putty has hardener build in and skins over in seconds, yet very effective.
  5. I used the Devcon to fill in gaps I would have used bondo then used filler to take care of the smaller divots. When I get home I'll post a pic of the yoke for example to illustrate how I built up the top edge with the Devcon.
  6. I personally would stay away from bondo. What did you use to assemble your armor with Bryan?
  7. Hey Hank before we get started can you do us a huge favor and fill in the blanks below, then copy and paste it into your original post Thanks trooper Basic Information: Name: Legion ID: Garrison: Mandatory Information: Armor = Helmet= Blaster= Optional Information: Height = Weight = Boots = Canvas belt = Hand Plates = Neck Seal = Holster =
  8. Hey Sean thanks for the ab picture but I need the other right side . No rush there's time. Thanks for the clarification on the drop boxes, a picture with them in the correct position would be awesome and no worries about the ab belt rivet covers it's only a suggestion. All we need now is a action shot picture and blaster and your set brother.
  9. Not exactly, but if you look closely at screen shots this is what it looks like. http://www.amazon.com/Professional-Premium-Grade-Gaffer-Gafferpower%C2%AE/dp/B00GZE3UJ8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1445624208&sr=8-2&keywords=black+gaffers+tape EDIT: To be clear, I've been told the counter edge material is what was also used behind the pill boxes and from the counter edge pictures I've seen, it's look almost identical to the black gaffers tape.
  10. Thanks Kris, when you have a moment post that right side for us. All the required photos have been posted. Your armor contains all the necessary elements to qualify for EIB. With that, we would like to congratulate and welcome you to Expert Infantry. Excellent job! I know this has been a labor of love for you and those that helped get you here. The Golden Gate Garrison will be proud of their new EIB, now get out there serve the Empire with pride. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we'll discuss observations made by your fellow troopers as well as myself and Sly. Sometimes changes and or adjustments are suggested for the overall fitment of your armor. Sly and myself would like to see you bring your chest plate up a bit so that it's not hovering over one of your ab buttons. Everything else looks excellent, great job again. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we try prepare you for your Centurion application and we're assuming with the build quality you have that's what you had in mind. If you do choose to apply for you will need to make a couple modifications. Modify, reposition or replace the chest plate so there is no ab button over lap. There can be no back plate to kidney overlap. How you choose to accomplish this, either replacing the sections with other smaller armor or modifying it is up to you, though I'm not entirely sure if you can modifying it and still maintain accuracy. Let's cross that bridge when we get there shall we.
  11. I'll be using black gaffers tape
  12. Thanks Danny. What's the chance of getting a pic of you dragging a knee in armor
  13. KY what pleasure and honor it is to review a fellow garrison member's EIB application. Let's get this party started and take a look at your armor!! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: We seem to be missing a few pictures, the left and right side arms up and blaster "D" ring. Though we can see the required side rivets and snap and part of the D ring we need those pictures to move forward and make it official. Once we have those we can welcome you to EIB.
  14. Hey Sean, sorry for the delay, let's get started shall we. Thank you for your application for Expert Infantry. Let's take a look at your armor!! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: Excellent job on your build, very clean . As you already know a approved blaster is required for EIB and we're sorry to say the Rubies version is not, even with some serious modifications as I'd mentioned in a previous post, I now have to eat my own words. Sorry brother. Before proceeding, in addition to the blaster we also need a action shot picture. If you could post those when you have time that would be awesome. Thank you On a positive note your armor contains all the necessary elements to qualify for EIB . When you have your approved blaster please post the pictures so we can get you approved. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we'll discuss observations made by your fellow troopers as well as myself and Sly. Sometimes changes and or adjustments are suggested for the overall fitment of your armor. With that said tightening the belt would probably resolve the drooping issue as it will hold it against the armor tighter essentially assist in keeping it snapped. As for the gaps in between sections, your height alone may naturally create some excessive space in between sections however, we believe yours are acceptable as you've been able to balance your height and armor sections to give it a well balanced look over all. Great job again. Centurion Suggestions: A this moment the only thing we see that may need correction for Centurion is the drop box to belt alignment. From the angle of the pictures the drop boxes are to be aligned with the outer most edge of the ammo belt as see here in this reference picture. We have suggestion, we noticed that the ammo belt outer rivet covers aren't centered due to extra plastic at the edge. If you were to trim ammo belt edge removing enough to align with your drop box it would essentially centering the rivet covers accomplishing two things at once. Just a thought.
  15. Congrats and welcome the ranks Mark
  16. I have thr rom/FX also with my mic tips. I also use a omni directional mic, I don't have any any problems with feedback or other. Regarding volume the speakers in the Hovis are 15mm (1/2") where a chest type speaker may be 1-1/2" - 2"+ there's going to be a hugh difference in volume outout. Send me a PM and we can talk about the feedback issue.
  17. Thanks for the pictures Mark. I'll let Sly11 do the honors with any final recommendations or comments. Very nice
  18. Foam as Jason has mentioned and velcro. I have 2 sets of armor using velcro no oadding, no problems with shins moving PERIOD!
  19. Thanks for the files James, very nice job.
  20. Hey Daniel, thanks for your patience brother Let's get to it shall we? As you may know Gazmosis has retired and is probably sipping margaritas on some beach somewhere . Myself and Andrew (Sly11) have stepped in to fill his shoes and hope to be worthy of the FISD honor. With that said thank you for your Centurion application! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos have been posted. Upon close review, your armor contains all the necessary elements to qualify for Centurion. You're our first Centurion approval and would like to thank you for this awesome opportunity, Congratulations!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section, suggestions to further improve your armor are provided by your fellow troopers, myself and Sly. As Snaps mentioned there appears to be a bit of back to kidney plate overlap as seen from a profile view however, after reexamining the interior strapping everything appears to be in order Though not a requirement it would add to the accuracy of your armor if you replaced the Philips head screws on your Thermal Detonator clips with flat pan head screws and added T-track wiring to the DLT-19 as Gaz suggested also. Other than that, excellent build and again welcome Centurion ranks.
  21. We'll ignore that comment but thanks for your thoughts.
  22. Hey Sean, Sly and myself are aware of your application and we're currently reviewing it. Thanks for your patience.
