  1. Justin maybe you're not the one we should be asking this but JJ has pretty much avoided all forms of contact made to him the last three weeks or so, where is he? People are a bit frustrated to say the least.
  2. 501st shouldn't be a problem at all, but then again I don't make the rules so don't quote me on that.
  3. Well Carl I don't recall the sales information stating it will be as good as or even close to original ANOVOS (FO Armor) helmet in quality and given the build record so far, I'm waving the checkered flag for you brother I'll leave everyone with this thought, when the day comes detailed pictures of actual movie armor, including the helmet come to light you'll think back to this moment and say, "I only paid $200 for this helmet and they (meaning the big "D") probably paid a couple thousand for theirs, SUCKAS!
  4. I think you mean Aerator socket correct? If so from what I've heard and seen it's a pretty common concern. It's either a design, mold, or trimming issue IMHO. To those who own one it MAY be worth the $ for a close replacement to the 5lb bowling ball we now have but in all reality it's not much different in construction compared the $99 two piece mask. Unfortunately for us consumers the demand is high and as usual the quality is eh! For $200 (what I paid for mine) it's an evil I'm willing to tolerate, imperfections and all.
  5. Dang! And I thought my build was extensive.
  6. Don't think that will be an issue
  7. It's the correct material, it's pliable yet strong. I'd have to measure my box when I get home. As described in the build cut the rubber the same OD (outer diameter) as the box face. Rough up all four sides to give them an even look. Remove approximately 1/8" of rubber, approximately 3/8" to 1/4" at one end. Use a belt sander or similar. Remove around the circumference of the rubber so that the rubber sits firmly recessed in the box face when finished. This will give the box face something to be glued to. Afterwards drill the two holes for the 3/4" chicago or similar mounting screws, as described in my build. Once the holes are drilled sand a 3/8" contour into the opposite (flat) side of the rubber, lengthwise. This section will mount against the floor mat material of the waist belt without flexing too much and causing it to pull out of the front box face. Once that is finished insert the screws and check the fitment against the belt. You should have enough screw housing protruding from the rubber to go through the floor mat material & neoprene spacer of the belt itself. Double check the male and female threads to insure you're not going to have assembly issues later on. If all checks out ok then remove the screws, add glue to the head and shank (E6000 is what I used), install in the rubber and let dry. Once dry Glue the box face to the rubber. Once dry mount the assembly to the belt.
  8. Hey Michael, vacation is over get back to work
  9. Very nice, great job Aaron.
  10. That's what we're here for Sam. I've built every one of my suits ON MY OWN, I live out in the sticks. The FISD is a wealth of information and mountain of support. Troopers helping troopers
  11. You can use either or. The material you have, mine was damaged so instead of ordering more I used something I had at home already. With that said I will probably buy more of the original material because the foam is too flimsy and the belt wants to sag in certain areas.
  12. Dang this is AWESOME Chris! Thanks Moving a copy to page 1
  13. That's why it's a suggestion . We would like to see that the armor is capable of being aligned correctly, it's not mandatory that it is at all times. Hold it in your hands, kidney in one and the ab in the other, take a picture, poof you're done
  14. Ah hahaha fishnet baby! Thanks for the kudos Rick, I'll send you a PM with the painter's contact info.
  15. I'd be interested in one
  16. I'm not sure, have to check.
  17. Corrected, thanks Greg
  18. Ah yes, typo, thank's for the heads up
  19. Excellent work Aaron
  20. I did, this was my hobby project hehe
  21. Welcome Rui and thank you for your EIB application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for EIB. Welcome to Expert Infantry trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section, we review suggestions made by your fellow troopers and our own observations. All go towards improving the final look of your armor. The only issue that sticks out to us is your ab to kidney alignment. Bringing up your ab or lowering you kidney around 3/4" or so would line up the horizontal (upper) section, as well as the side rivets giving your armor a cleaner look and prepare you for Centurion. Spectacular build! beautiful! Centurion Suggestions: Ab to kidney alignment Glue front of hand plates down Congratulations, and we hope to see a Centurion application in the future.
