  1. Hey looking good so far. What's the chance of correcting the photos so they're upright?
  2. Dang! that's beautiful. Great start so far Rickey
  3. May I suggest a helmet from ATA. You can reach Terrell at [email protected]
  4. This thread is giving me flashbacks. Excellent job Andrew
  5. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present and all requirements have been met for Expert Infantry. Congratulations, excellent work Dave Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section, we'll review suggestions made by your fellow troopers as well as our own observations. All go towards improving the final look of your armor. Here's a few suggestions. 1. Round the corners of the black paint outlining the ear rank bar. 2. Maybe add foam to lower thighs near the knees to help straighten the leg armor alignment. It's not bad as it is, but would sure make it look nicer and it's a very simple fix. 3. Align (center) shoulder bridge covers with back plate 4. Rein in your shoulder bells. The gaps here are pretty big. Centurion Requirements: If you choose to shoot for Centurion you'll need a photo of the back of your drop boxes. B. The drop boxes will need to be aligned with the outer most edge of the ammo belt as seen here. C. "0" return edge on the trailing end (wrist side) of the forearms D. As Steve, your fellow trooper mentioned, you'll need to reposition or replace your Thermal Detonator clips. They should be positioned as such. E. Ab to kidney rivet placement. This request is probably the most difficult to ask but will be required for Centurion. Your ab to kidney rivets are out of alignment and will need to be corrected. As illustrated below in the image you provided, the lower rivets on the kidney side are of 1/4"-1/2". Once completed you'll need to fill the left over holes with ABS paste (slurry mixture) or similar. Again, great job on your build Dave. Take care of these few details and Centurion is yours. You can do it brother
  6. Lol well to be honest only one other person has asked. I'm working on a price so ill let you know as well. Thanks Tim.
  7. I feel your pain brother. With the holidays over, I can barely get in my FO armor, not happy
  8. Hi Dave, thank you for your application and your patience. Hope you had a wonderful New Years. Let's get to it shall we. Overall you did a great job on your build. There are a couple issues however you'll need to address before we can move forward. 1. Ab to kidney gap a bit excessive. Unfortunately we feel the gap between your ab and kidney plates, especially on the right side exceeds EIB requirements. Shortening the ab to kidney straps should resolve this. I you're using elastic we suggest maybe using nylon webbing. As stated in the CRL. Abdomen Armor - For level two certification Any gap between the abdomen and kidney armor is no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide. What we'd really like to see is something like this. 2. We also noticed a pretty significant gap between the right rear thigh sides, at the bottom. We're requesting you close that gap for us. As stated in the CRL (level two). Thigh Armor - For level two certification (if applicable): Thigh armor shall be closed in the back.Should look more like this.. By simply trimming the "V" shape into the backs or scalloping more away like many of the TK's in the movie instead of pulling these apart and starting over. If you could correct both of these concerns and post new pictures for us that would be awesome, Thanks
  9. Hey Mike I'm pretty certain we talked this already but are you using nylon webbing in the area to connect the two? If so, my next suggestion you may not want to hear. Position the connecting straps between the posterior and kidney closer to the front like so. This may help prevent the area from stretching. However, to quote Newton's Third Law "For every action there is a equal and opposite reaction". In a nutshell tightening up this area will most likely have an effect on your waistline, which effects your ab to kidney gap.
  10. Thank you
  11. Hey Rick, are you a member of the First Order FB page? You have to have FO armor to be one. I'm not aware of him selling the hardware outside of that specific group/page.
  12. Well, some of us got it and some of us don't Pit a strap across the two and lets see what it looks like anyways.
  13. Regarding the posterior (butt) do you have the connecting strap to the cod connected?
  14. hahaha yea I know, I meant upstream in the convo. What's the reason you only painted the center section?
  15. Hey Jose, Sly or myself will be with your shortly.
  16. Hey Dave, Sly or myself will be with you shortly, thank you for your patience.
  17. Maybe I missed something upstream but why only paint the center, why not the sides as well?
  18. We'll let it slide only because we know you're kinda important around these parts .
  19. Thanks Andy. I think Serge's buckle version is more accurate though Andy. If we can find his buckle and your strap I think we would have a winner. Regarding "the difference worth worrying about", to be honest and with all respect, if I didn't care about the accuracy this quest for the correct components wouldn't exist. I would have settled for the cast buckles I already have installed. Again, this buckle and strap may be something Disney asked a manufacturer to create just for the movie however, in my quest to find the correct (exact) components used to build the armor suspension system some of the components are legit and readily available, I've seen them. BTW, I do appreciate everyone's efforts. If we come up with the correct components and the vest is built as accurately or very close the movie vest, then it will be something everyone else will model after and your names will be all over it. Something you can take pride in.
