  1. Velcro. Always centered, always in the correct position, it works for me.
  2. It's not that bad really.
  3. Hey Paddy, so the command staff reached out to Rob @ RS directly regarding the thigh ammo pack rivets that are in question, here's his response, "Knee ammo belt rivet. Recently changed, its a closed cap rivet. Previous was a blind rivet with the hole filled in" "closed cap/split rivets are more difficult to put in, but we got the nod it was required". RS is aware of the issue and fixing it on his builds moving forward. Blind rivets are not accepted at the EI or Centurion levels unfortunately. As previously mentioned you will need to replace these before we can proceed with your application. Once updated please post new photos showing the correct rivets installed. Paul has provided information regarding where the cap rivets can be purchased and there are countless build threads illustrating how to install them, not to mention I'm pretty sure some of your fellow garrison members would be willing to help you with this as well. We would like to thank Rob @ RS for helping to resolve the issue and taking the necessary steps to make stormtrooper armor, specifically commission built, more accurate. Thanks Rob
  4. All this can do energy is giving me the warm and fuzzies lol
  5. I thought it was a nice touch lol Another big congrats Paul
  6. So that we make the correct decision we have one more request, if you're going to be contacting them again can you request they provide you with a photo of the cap rivets they used during the thigh ammo pack assembly please? Thanks Paddy
  7. lol, well not stripped, but the mood was as such as described by the wife. We were expecting something different that's all, nobody elses fault, just our opinion. Didn't mean to insinuate anything.
  8. Celebration? Had a blast. It was awesome to finally put faces to the names I've gotten to know so well, I guess my only negative was the Bash Strip Bar. Too loud to talk, nothing much to do other than drink, and the half naked girls on stilts didn't impress my wife. $200 for the two of us wasn't worth it IMHO.
  9. Alright Gareth, and thank you for your Centurion application. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted. Thank your for making repairs suggested at EIB. Your armor contains all necessary elements to qualify you for Centurion. Andrew and I would like to congratulate and welcome you. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we may make suggestions to enhance your armor even further. If we had anything to mention it would be to maybe revisit the forearm assembly. The two halves look like they're barely hanging on in sections. Other than that beautiful job on your build. Now it's time for you to get out there and make the Empire proud. Congrats again
  10. Nice work Jim What's the chance of making this in white?
  11. Thanks Gareth. Please post a full front photo without your arm band. Thank you
  12. For the record we were going to talk about the shoulder bridge but since you're already working on it we removed the notation. When you're finished please post a new photo for others to see . Congrats again Shane
  13. Hey Shane welcome back and thank you for your Centurion application. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted.Thank your for making the suggested and required, very nice work Your armor now contains all necessary elements to qualify you for Centurion. Andrew and I would like to congratulate and welcome you . Excellent job on your build Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Andrew and I recognize you put a lot of hard work into your build and we want you to know we notice it. As you know Centurion is the ultimate level. If we had any suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor this is where we would mentioned it. That being said we have a couple areas to mention first being the shoulders bells. It looks like you've removed a great deal of lower return edge yet your bells and maybe even tightened the upper strap buy they're still not collapsing around the biceps as they should. Not sure why this is. It's possible the bells might be too small for you. It might be a good idea to replace them with larger one if possible when you have time Secondly the ab to kidney alignment is still misaligned quite a bit. In this situation it might be best to use nylon webbing to connect the two sections if you're not done so already. That's it brother. Congratulations again, now head on out and make the Empire proud
  14. It's definitely close I'll give you that, closer than most others, it still needs work though. The front and rear sections of the yoke are supposed to overlap and velcro together, and the front of the yoke should have two holes where the chest plate centers and mounts. Great looking armor though.
  15. Hey Paddy good news, your blaster is a go as is , but before we can move forward the pop rivets used to attach you thigh ammo plate will need to be changed before we can proceed. The CRL states: Thigh Armor For level two certification (if applicable): Thigh ammo belt is attached to thigh with a solid head rivet or fastener in the upper corner and fastened to the lower thigh ridge. The solid head rivet attachment is painted white. Standard pop rivets are not allowed Please let us know if you have any questions.
  16. Hey Cameron, thank you for your patience and EI application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome and congratulations trooper! . Beautiful job on your build Cameron Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. Since this section is used to enhance to overall look of your armor we have a few requests. 1) As mentioned by your fellow troopers all three ear screws should be "V" head. Reference photo 2) Certainly not a requirement however, removing the extra return edge material on your back plate would help your armor look more accurate. This applies to the chest and posterior as well. Some vendors leave a good deal of return edge in areas which may look like it belongs, but doesn't. Reference photo 3) Back plate to ab alignment offset. Having three connecting points (Center, left, right) between the back plate and kidney will help ensure this area remains aligned. Reference photo 4) In at least one area your cover strip extend past the armor. We suggest you trim it back to help prevent getting caught on other areas. The right shin alignment, we're pretty certain this is just a photo issue but your right shin is out of alignment. Installing foam or velcro in the shin usually helps preserve alignment. 5) Posterior (butt plate) out of alignment and front lower corner should be trimmed. Both areas requiring some minor adjustments or trimming. The butt plate should follow the contour of the kidney plate and the corner (as illustrated) should have a 45 degree contour to it. Take a look at the reference photos we've provided. Reference photos Centurion Suggestions: In this section we may suggest recommended or required repairs prior to applying for the Centurion level, however the accuracy it is ultimately up to the trooper. We do our best to cover everything, but the more detailed photos that come with a level 3 application may reveal other items that could require change. There's one area that will require change to meet the level 3 requirements for your future Centurion application As per the CRL Ammo Belt level three certification (if applicable): Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. The drop boxes are to be aligned with the outer most edges of the waist ammo belt. The most common solution is to secure the drop box strap the the waist cloth belt. This will help keep them aligned. Reference photo Well that's it, thank you for your patience again. Make your corrections and we'll see you at Centurion. Congratulations trooper
  17. Amazon, generally cheaper than other retailers
  18. Hey Ryan the movie armor, especially the yoke section, is considerably different than anything else manufactured today. There are a few producers out there but none of them, not even Anovos who was granted access to the movie armor makes it 100% correct. The movie Yoke is one entire piece connecting the lower chest to the lower back sections then, a 2nd (outer) chest piece is placed on top of the front yoke section. To save on material, $ and making the armor easier to assemble most, if not all mfgs do NOT make the armor with a one piece yoke assembly. If you want to make the entire armor screen accurate you can purchase one from one of the vendors and modify it. Hope this helps
  19. Hey Marcus, belt sander I use 80 or 120 grit. For the small, more delicate sanding jobs I use a Black & Decker Mouse with a variety of grits.
