  1. My pleasure
  2. Hey Josh welcome. If your kit is ABS you shouldn't have to paint. Some armor does require painting. Also, if you start a build thread we can assist you better. Hope this helps
  3. Hey Joe welcome to the FISD. Sorry to hear about your experience. As Todd mentioned buying new cover strip material from a reputable vendor is primary. That said it's most likely the material you purchase will NOT match the Anovos exactly regardless, that's ok, I suggest you use the same Anovos cover strip material on all forward facing joints. At least this will ensure 90% of what the fans see matches. Hope this helps
  4. Hey Shane thanks for your patience. Before we get started we need you to do something for us. The CRL states for Centurion there is to be no return edge on the forearms, wrist side. You'll need to remove this and post a new photo before we can proceed. Thank you Reference photo
  5. Being biased of course lol http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31436-fs-ukswraths-hovi-mic-tips-with-speakers-crl-accurate-tips
  6. You're missing some other sellers
  7. HGT vest pic heavy
  8. Hey Frank, thank you for your patience and EI application, let's get started. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome and congratulations! . Beautiful job on your build Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. Since this section is used to enhance to overall look of your armor we have a few requests. 1) Shoulder bell to chest and back gap, though minor we're recommending you reduce it even further if possible. Removing more of the lower return edge should do the trick. Reference photo 2) The Center Ab button panel looks like it may be a bit off center, it should be aligned with the vertical raised section on the Ab plate above. Also You might want to trim the top section on the pertical button plate as it looks like it might get caught on the chest plate. Reference photos 3) TD sitting high on the belt. It should reside close to the center of the cloth belt. Simple fix would be to unroll the tube on the clips. This should center it better and force the control panel button away from the body rather than upward. Reference photo 4) As mentioned by one of your fell troopers the right thigh needs to be adjusted inward. You can correct that for Centurion. 5) Thigh ammo pack return edge excessive. The edge outside the ammo boxes should almost be flush with each other. A little trimming should do the trick. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. The only area of concern here is the ab to kidney gap. The CRL states ideally there's no gap and will have to be remedied before applying for Centurion. For level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there is no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Reference photos That's it, again excellent job on your build, hope to see you at Centurion.
  9. Hey Cameron thanks for your patience, We'll be with you shortly. While you wait could you post a couple more photos for us. We need to see the armor inner strapping, the cod / posterior snaps and rivet and helmet "S" seal. Thank you
  10. Hey Frank thanks for patience. Before we get started we need you to post a action shot. Thank you
  11. My pleasure and thank you
  12. Not that it matters but I guess I'm a bit confused when you say brittle but won't snap. Most material that is "brittle" means it's non pliable, and generally snaps or breaks easily. In my experience with the Anovos armor I sometimes find it easier to cut through it then attempt score and snap due to the lack of thickness OR the material is too pliable (not brittle enough) to break free. Your thoughts?
  13. IMHO it's not that it's brittle, as it is too thin. I'm not a chemist so I couldn't tell you the make up but in the thinner areas it tears, a common problem seen when trimming excess. In these areas it's neither thick enough or strong enough to score and snap. That said, it's obvious this material was selected to conform to the tight edges and corners of their metal pucks. As said before mass producing definitely has it's drawbacks. Who here that sells anything wouldn't jump on the opportunity to make armor backed by LFL and Disney, two of the most successful entertainment companies in the world, and make decent money doing it? In my opinion only, Anovos got in way over their heads and now are bound to a licencing agreement that restricts them from easily making accuracy & durability changes. Toss in their CS rep, what a mess. As for how you can make yours better, I respectfully bow out as I don't hold a candle to most of you armorers
  14. Ah hahaha so true
  15. Unfortunately they don't need a "Gold" coin when they have the "Golden Goose". I understand the frustration with the vetted "fanmade" builders but you if want to blame some company start with LFL who sold you out, than Disney for keeping the noose around Anovos's licencing neck. It's my understanding Anovos can't even fart without Disney's approval. Edit: From a DO's point of view Anovos is by far the most frustrating and yet exciting armor to review. Out of the box it's loaded with issues, remedy the issues and you have a nice looking set of armor. Unfortunately as expressed in previous posts cookie cutter armor has it's drawbacks, #1 on the list, durability. Most vetted armor will last a few seasons of continuous use, Anovos a season or two at best having to reinforce or replace sections. #2 Customer service. When these pieces break, without replacement parts the wearer has to mismatch his armor or start over with new. Unless Anovos gets their CS act together soon I foresee and onslaught of very upset owners in the near future, score another one for fan made.
  16. It's no less accurate than some vetted armor sold. My main reason for switching opinions is Anovos's inability (due to licencing restrictions) to make needed changes to make it more accurate prior to selling. #2 The armor cracks way too easy.
