TK-72179 Requesting ANH Stunt Centurion Status (ATA) [344]
ukswrath replied to jamihal's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hey Jim welcome back and thank your Centurion application, let's do this. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required submission photos are present. We are happy to say your armor displays all the elements as set out in the Centurion CRL. Sly and myself would like to congratulate and welcome you to the L3 rank trooper. Beautiful job on your build Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: If we had anything to add here it would be to adjust the shoulder bell upper straps even more, they're still sitting a bit low. As Andrew mentioned during your EIB app your waist belt looks like it could come up a bit also. That's it. Time to get out there and make the Empire proud as their newest Centurion. -
Hey Dana looking good. If I make a couple suggestions, if shooting for higher levels of accuracy you'll need to move the TD clips around a bit. They should sit just below the control panel and butted up against the end caps. The screws should also be flat head, slotted and painted black as seen here in the reference photo. As for your waist belt if you plan on shooting for Centurion your drop boxes will need to be positioned so that the are aligned with the outer most edge and just below the ammo belt as seen here. The easiest way to keep them there is to simply glue the connecting strap directly to the cloth belt. Note: The drop box should reside just below the ammo belt despite what the photo shows. Hope this helps

Copy that

Looks good. I see where you think you need shrink them but I'm not sure it will look good with this armor type

No worries -
There's nothing wrong with removing all the flat edge off the back. As for the assembly procedure I suggest you apply the cover strips to one side ex. front and rear on the outer half, then let cure for a few days. After drying finish the front inner and outer half connection, let dry again. Finally connect the rear. Note the rear halves will be at a odd angle from each other So you'll need to find a way to force the angle flat. A good method is place a piece of 1/2" thick wood over the length of the cover strip and tape it to the armor. If you have the tape and wood pressure tight enough it will force the cover strip downward causing the two halves to align. That said, trim the forearms and biceps equally. The last thing you want is really small forearms and large biceps.

Looking good. Note the vent line length of your helmet in comparison to the reference photo posted above. BTW take your time, we love your enthusiasm but this doesn't have to be done right away. -

HWT CRL Changes - Your input is requested
ukswrath replied to Daetrin's topic in Heavy Weapons Trooper
At the moment it's still being excepted if you fall under the circumstances mentioned above however, as you strive for accuracy in the higher levels we encourage applicants that know what we're moving towards emulate what which will soon be the norm and required. IMHO coming from a Centurion HWT with an antenna his backpack , if you want to look more accurate I suggest removing it. -

Welcome Darren, thank you for your EIB application. Let's take a look shall we. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: Beautiful job on your build. All the required submission photos have been posted. You armor displays all the necessary components to qualify you for Expert Infantry. Andrew and myself would like to congratulate and welcome you Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and/or ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. That said we have a few minor areas we'd like to mention, starting with the helmet great again, job on your build. If we had anything to add to make it look even better it would be to touch up a few painted areas. The tears, traps, tube stripes and rank bar details could use a little TLC. The tears & traps should be a bit larger with the outer black lines positioned deep into the return edges. We've provided canon reference photos below you so that you can compare. Reference photos 2) The lines around the rank bar should be roughly half as thick as yours. Here's a reference photo 3) The tube stripes are a bit wide (not by much), mainly they could be cleaned up slightly so that they appear more uniform. Reference photo 4) Moving down to the waist belt, though not a big issue the belt should reside at or just below the lower ab button. Reference photo 5) Your waist ammo belt is also a bit too wide. The return edge should stop just outside the boxes. It's recommended you trim this down. Reference photo 6) And finally your left thigh looks like the return edge is protruding forward. We're suggesting you maybe trim it back or soften it up and fold it back towards you to prevent from being snagged on something. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. The only concern we have in this are is the Ab to kidney gap. This could be a simple strap adjustment. The Centurion CRL states: For level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there is no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Reference photo Alright Darren, that's it. Very nice work on your build, hope to see you at Centurion. -
Hey Frederic, thank you for your patience and EIB application. Thanks for updating your photos as requested. Let's get started. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Beautiful job on your armor build. Andrew and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a couple minor areas one being the shoulder bells to chest and back plate gap, which should be very minimal. We would normally suggest tightening the straps to draw them in closer however, we think the bells themselves are too small. You might want to consider purchasing a larger set from RT-mod or AM. Here's a reference photo of what they should look like. Secondly but a minor issue is the back plate to kidney plate gap. There should be minimal gap here. A minor strap adjustment should fix this up nicely. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. If you choose to shoot for Centurion please be advised the Hasbro blaster will need to be replaced. The CRL states: "For level three certification (if applicable): Hasbro blasters are not allowed, even conversions." That's it brother, great job Frederic very nice work. Time to get out there and serve the Empire. Hope to see you at Centurion.

HWT CRL Changes - Your input is requested
ukswrath replied to Daetrin's topic in Heavy Weapons Trooper
It's still in progress. If the applicant was building their pack while the CRL was in transition then technically they could be grandfathered in. Ultimately we leave it up to the GMLs but without a solid CRL to refer to telling an applicant no antenna is a hard push. -
