1. Thank you. Excited to have my first EIB really inspires me to get my ANH up to EIB and beyond too. Will definitely get or perhaps even make an improved neck seal. Going to look into the brace too. Don’t see myself going rubber gaskets at the moment though. My fabric ones are so comfy and allow me to move quite well. Action shot from a recent troop
2. Since I am working on upgrading my ANH as well, can I butt i and ask a question. I get that the CRL says to use a solid head rivet for the ammo pack. Does it matter how it looks on the inside since you are asking for the pic?
3. Can’t I be a peace loving stormtrooper? Ok then, I’ve been putting of getting the screws into the blaster long enough. And in holster
4. There, now I hope the pics work better imageshack seemed to turn them all into clickable thumbnails. Had to struggle a bit with getting the pics in there. Tony, I haven't got screws on my blaster yet so I put a pic in there where the thigh is hanging from screws to show it works. Hope that works.
5. I have a small snap on the inside of the forearm that attaches to the gasket can make the forearm move a bit when I move. The gaps are under normal circumstances similar like on these side pics.
6. Hoping the Imageshack links work. Experimenting with alternatives to Photobucket.

8. So flex agent seems like a good idea. Will a car paint shop know what that is? Is there a specific brand that I should tell them to use?
9. Thank you so much for this thread. It will be so helpful when building mine.
10. Sorry was a bit unclear. I meant how the posterior attaches to the abdomen. Ukswrath has the velcro and elastic sewn together that both closes the back and the posterior is hanging from. Did you use a similar method, but not as high (since that's where you have the magnets)?
11. How do you attach the posterior? Same as ukswrath but without the velcro bits?
12. My girlfriend found this helpful video for me. May help in keeping the lines straight.
13. I understand that it takes time and skill to make them and considering that you need 6 per armor it will take time. Maybe Mrs Tk should increase the price to cope with the demand. I know I would pay more to get them earlier.

I will make an attempt and se If I can get a decent result but will definitely want to stay on the waiting list for a higher quality set.
14. For my TFA build I think I want to go with a non-rubber gasket solution. The Anovos gaskets just feel bad and I know that the Imperial gaskets are much better. They are still rubber and I just feel that cloth will be much more comfortable in the long run. I am in line for cloth gaskets from Imperial but given the waiting time I am considering doing my own (high probability of me messing things up though). One question is fabric choice. The CRL states: Gaskets shall be rubber or a shiny black material with ridges The question is how shiny is shiny enough? I went looking at fabrics with the girlfriend yesterday and it seems that the shiniest options are quite fragile and wouldn't be very washable according to her. In the shiniest fabrics the surface is glued on which is more likely to crack and fall off when washed. There is a lot of wear and stress placed on something that will rub up against the rest of the kit and the inevitable sweat of trooping. I found a black bathing suit fabric which is stretchy and nice and sort of shiny. So would Under Armor shirt level of shiny be ok? Obviously it will depend on light setting etc. The pic may not accurately reflect the fabric. There is obviously a balance between shine, durability and washability. Question is just where?
15. Thanks for this tutorial. I bought some foam and black bathing suit material from a fabric store to try and make some. Made some small test pieces. Didn't have any glue for these so straight lines were a bit challenging but I am sure it will be a bit easier if the fabric is glued on. The materials were quite cheap so no harm in trying some.
16. So cool. Thanks for sharing. Weird Al is coming here in two weeks and I am so excited to get to participate in that troop.

18. I am a health economist at a pharmaceutical company. Also an avid board and miniatures gamer. I also practice fencing with epee as my weapon of choice.
19. I got so caught up in the build so i haven't taken as many in progress shots as I had planned to. I will post pics of my finished build soon to get tips on fitting before I cut the elastics between the shoulder-arm and leg pieces. Darth Aloha, it seems I have been a bit too ambitious then since I will moste likely only go for EIB at the most. I will of course have to get a new helmet for that though. But I hope that my ambitious level on the rest of the pieces can impress enough to overlook my FX helmet.
20. I am putting the finishing touches to my FX armor right now. I got it 2nd hand from a guy who had velcroed and overlapped it. I have been redoing it with butt join and cover strip. It has been some work but it hasn't really felt that bad. But since I haven't done any other kit I really can't compare. In my own humble opinion I think it is looking very good on me. But we will see what they say when I submit. The tutorial by Daetrin here has been quite useful. ----------- I have also looked a lot at various EIB submissions for FX armors.
21. Isopropanol is okayish. Chemically pure bensin (teknisk bensin) worked wonderfully. I found that just putting some on a rag and try to scrub was not the way to go. Really pouring it on so it covers the glue spot and then it wipes of easily. Now I can finally start gluing pieces together. Going to start with the biceps since I am the most sure what size I want there.
22. Thanks, Mathias. That was a helpful thread. The pics are going to be very helpful when it comes to place the cover strips. Although right now I am struggling with cleaning away the adhesive from where the previous owner had velcroed everything. Gonna take some time. So when it comes to cutting the butt plate, is this red line where I should do the cut? (Also pictured is my rabbit assistant) Looking at pics it seems the kidney and ab plate should be aligned and the cut would then be a bit below the belt which is what Daetrin writes in his how to.
23. Do they have boots available? The site says completely sold out.
24. Sounds like a great experience. I still have some work to do before I am ready for a troop but I am already looking forward to it.
