  1. Go for Stomper's. I have them, and they look awesome!
  2. Did a testfit again today, and got some better pictures taken. At first sight it looks ok, but there are definately issues that need to be taken care of. Here's the back: Here's one from the side: All this is gradually gonna become an RT for my part, but I want this kit to look great for the person bying it (and for me until every RT part is in place:-) Any feedback is very much appreciated! Oh yeah, and I have to make the canvas belt of course, and fill in the sidegaps ++ :-)
  3. My experience is that it's not what the majority go for. I started in the school of idealized armor (i.e. symmetrical helmet), but have since moved on to go for the more screen accurate look. It all comes down to people tastes really. Both is openly accepted at least. :-) I just think now, that the asynnetry gives the face of the helmet a little more character.
  4. The AP is a bit smaller than the CE. I don't have any comparison shots. I use the CE and it fits me great both on the head and it's proportionate to the rest of my bodu in armor. The AP is a wee bit too small for my build. If you have broad shoulders I would consider something other than AP at least (maybe TE2 or TM?).
  5. AP looks great as a stunt. Hero has bubble lenses as opposed to flat at least. I like stunt way better than the hero versions though.
  6. You might want to consider painter tape, as it doesn´t leave any residue after removal.
  7. I´ve also used a heatgun to loosen glued parts from eachother.
  8. Yeah, it can help a bit with that.
  9. Ok, finished the shoulderbells. Here's how they look with the biceps in them (I guess it is possible to make FX bells look ok): Also did the return edge thing on the butt and kidney: Kidney Butt
  10. It's not that long since I went through the list. I found loads of free numbers. I don't know if there's a list of the numbers not in use though. But if not, they should consider making one:-)
  11. Well considering the build takes much of your time, plus expenses for material, glue, tools etc. I guess you have to just add those expenses to the original price and the sum it up with what you feel your hard labor is worth. Maybe 2-300 bucks in labor? A finished set should, in my opinion, be more expensive than an unfinished kit, that's for sure.
  12. Seems like most people have put some thought into their numbers. I like it.
  13. Modded one of the shoulders with a return edge. Here are the results compared to the one I've cut but not given the edge yet: And here, just to show how it looks on a shoulder:
  14. Not yet. I´m probably going with the Voice Core set from plecterlabs. That´s the last detail before it´s done.
  15. Here´s mine: I used kneepads that I cut pieces of and hotglued them to the interior. Works like a charm. I used one set of fans I bought here on the forum (they are 80mm CPU-fans), I also installed two more fans (40mm) which I connected to a small switch then to a 9 volt battery (one battery for each fan). Fans are from a local computer store, and the switches are available in most stores selling electrical gadgets (Radioshack etc.)
  16. Looking great! It´s no problem making the handplates smaller, just cut off about 6-7mm and use a hobbyiron or heatgun to give it the return edge. Check it out in my FX thread: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=4698
  17. I didn´t document the process, but I´ll snap a pic of the edge and try to describe in some detail how I did it. And thanks for the kind words.
  18. Here's how the chestpiece turned out:
  19. If you do it from the front I guess it's rivet, belt, holster, washer and then rivet
  20. Hha, sounds like a plan!! Or a divorce, it all depends. :-P
  21. If only I could get my wife into that custume.... Hehe
  22. I'm playing with the thought of starting a Republic Commando next year. We'll see how it goes
  23. Thanks mate! I´m just about to finish it up, then I´ll sell it just over new year I guess. Just placed an order for the first couple of RT-parts:-)
