  1. I, myself went through the list and found a few to pick and choose from when I get my armor. It's either gonna be my wife's or son's birthday, the year of the black plague in Norway (yeah I know it's a bit dark ) or my own year of birth:) Why did you chose the one YOU have?
  2. I might be wrong, but the cheap stealthtroopers usually are black FX-armor. They come in white too, at the same price. Other than that, painting a black one white...rustoleum primer, white gloss enamel I guess. Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. Get them here: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=4416
  4. Yeah, that´s a really nice armor! gotta get mine, so I can go Elite as well!
  5. I´m doing a total repaint, as have a few other, which you can see in the build-threads here on the forum. I´ll be posting pics soon.
  6. I used kneepads made to sit in the kneepockets of workpants. You can them in most hardware stores. I bought 4 pads, which cost me about $48. I just hotglued them in. It looks like the ones D-MAC is selling here are more or less the same ones, only black. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=4416
  7. Ok, I added the padding inside the helmet, and it worked out nicely. My nose barely touches the front of the helmet, so it's now a snug and good fit. Check it!
  8. I'm not the guy that walks around with powertools in his belt either, but using the Dremel isn't a big deal. Just take it slow, and everything works out fine:) I'll post some more pics later today (when I've installed the padding inside, and hopefully filled the gap in the frown, back/dome and ears).
  9. Hehe, yup. Guess I´ll be finished in a couple of days:)
  10. On the hovis I used a Dremel and a cone shaped sanding attachment to remove as much as I dared, then I used a hairdryer to heat up the glue that holds them in place. When they started to get good and hot I just wiggled on them back and forth, reheated and wiggled some more until they came off. I haven't made my mind up about the ears yet, but I am tempted to leave the in the direction of "screen accurate". I have to putty some of the right lower ear though. The groove from where the ear sits shows a bit too much on that side
  11. I've been modding an MRCE the past couple of weeks, and this is where I'm at (I hvaen't taken any pics of doing the mods, since I've followed tutorial already posted here): The original: Front: Profile: Painted inside black: Just waiting on my putty to fill the gaps in the frown and around the dome. Then it's time for primer and paint!
  12. Hehe.. I do live in the most expensive country in the world, so...
  13. Even though...you gotta start somewhere...
  14. Maaaan I envy you. It's already fall here....
  15. Let's hope he didn't actually jump of a boat
  16. Tear-apart-able....I like it!
  17. Those look nice enough. But, real nomex gloves aren't that expensive though. Might be me that's used to spend large amounts on equipment in the army, but I am used to paying $100 for a pair of good, long lasting gloves. But, again, these look the part though:) My CQB-gloves where around $150, and my Spectra-gloves where around $100. In Norway, that's a standard price for any real leather glove.
  18. This is looking sweet. I almost regret ordering FX... :-S But I'll make it look nice... AP or RT is the next step I think:)
  19. Did you sand or primer the inside of the helmet? I see there's still residue from the glue used for the original padding...
  20. They say they do, so I tried placing an order, we'll see what happens. I think the problem with shipping products like this is because of the chemicals in it or something. Bought the Testors-one that I found as well, so we'll see how this goes.
  21. I was just wondering, when reassembling the helmet, do you glue the front and back together (if so, in what fashion?), or do the screws on the sides do the job? Same with the dome, how did you glue/attach it again? Another thing, I can't find anything resembling MMD putty in Norway, and have yet to find anyone selling this on the web that will ship internationally. What I have found though, is some sort of polyester compound that is used to repair boats. Anyone know if that might work? If someone is willing to buy and ship MMD putty, just PM me, and I'll PP at once:) EDIT: I saw a shop that sells Testors putty for plastic? Would that be the way to go? (Sorry for all the questions, but I want to get this right:)
  22. The CE can be made to look more wonky with a heatgun for those who have limited funds, such as myself. The eyebump for example, it´s all possible with a little imagination added to the works. And the FX is again, loads uglier than the CE, but they´re all 501st acceptable, so I guess it really each to his own when it comes down to it. As far as I know (with the required mods) the CE is also elite-acceptable? If I could afford an expensive helmet I´d go for TE2 before I went for MRLE or eFX at least:)
  23. Might be worth it. The chest looks like FX. It's got those "saggy" breasts.
  24. That certainly just looks like a yellow TK! Tried looking for it on youtube?
