  1. Would you believe a Sharpie and a straight edge? To think I spent time trying to cut out little pin stripes, and Wyatt just draws them on in moments. :-p
  2. Here are the pix. I know I need to adjust the straps a wee bit and add a strap to keep the biceps from rotating...sigh...
  3. Just found out that 1 out of 5 - yes that's 22% if you want to be more accurate - of 501st sandtroopers are actually MEPD deployed. Can you imagine if we got that far? That would be about 417 stormtroopers! =:-0
  4. I'll happily provide a review of it should it show on Wednesday (Edmonds Parade).
  5. Sorry it's against policy to openly discuss where to buy armor. For the differences, check out some of the deployment standards on http://www.whitearmor.net/requirements/. They're also noted in several other threads...
  6. I just made mine look like the screen caps...

    The 305

I've read quite a lot of non-fiction about this time period, this battle, and the Spartans as well as Persians, so perhaps it's funnier for me than others...
  8. OK, I got everyone. Please guys - include a link to your 501st profile - makes my job easier.
  9. You can cut out a fourth tooth on the FX kit. It's not a hard adjustment. Also...you can go for Hero mark standards with bubble lenses for your deployment pix, but nothing says you can't swap them out with flat green ones for trooping. It's the same way on MEPD - I have to have full MEPD requirements to get deployed, but may not always choose to troop in that configuration. Deployment standards are there to promote and reward achievements in costuming excellence, they're not there to dictate how you troop.
  10. Roger - you're set. Anyone else - remember to include a link to your record please.

  12. Got any pix of your SE-14R rig? I was thinking of doing a chest holster for mine also to wear at non-canon events.
  13. I got one of the diamond cutting wheels for the dremel. Much cleaner than the stock wheels. --------
  14. For our purposes, canon = seen on film.
  15. True, but since not all troopers had one it's not a requirement and why it's an allowable, canon, approved option. Since this detachment focuses on canon stormtroopers, nothing EU is allowed in the deployment standards.
  16. Outstanding work there - this is some great progress
  17. Mmmm...maybe I should have lent you my helmet today as a test bed? I have the fans & aerators already... I need to send out some tube stripes - should I put a bucket in the mail as well?
  18. Due to a new, more challenging job with a vastly longer commute, I'm not confidant I can execute my duties as FISD detachment leader to the extent necessary for the post, and don't see a reprieve in my job situation anytime soon. That being the case I've decided to step down as FISD DL and the current XO, Ed DaSilva will be taking my place. The "effective" date of the change over will be 30JUN, but it should be OK to consider Ed as the DL de facto until then. It's been a true blessing from starting out wondering if I'd even get enough signatures on the detachment application to where we are now. You guys have made it all worth the while - many thanks. It's been an honor and a privilege to serve you.
  19. Stomper's aerators are 100% threaded and ready to go. Keith's are not. I suppose I could just sent the aerators I want, unless you get yours direct from either source (as they're both thumbs up in my book).
  20. Can those speakers be used with any aerators? For instance, can I use the aerators I already have?
  21. If you want something you can install and have working in 5 minutes they're great for the price point. RomFx is the best, but it takes more effort/time to get running, esp. if you want a 100% helmet contained setup.
  22. And the ammo belt on the right thigh. Still, gets better with each pix - doing good man
