  1. Deployment standards were not meant to mean 100% film accuracy, nor to nit pick in every last tiny detail. I'd say we should amend the standard for these to be recommended, but not required.
  2. At times in the states it's unavoidable. For instance some malls don't let you walk around with buckets on (let alone blasters), so after a photo shoot we had to walk a short ways with them off.
  3. I realized after taking pix that one of my hand plates was upside down, and I forgot to put lines on my traps/tears. :-p I'll take new pix next event.
  4. I'm behind you 100%. I've brought this up with the LMO in the past who's been dis-inclined to allow them based on the pictures to date but I'm hoping your project will help change his mind.
  5. Keep it civil or I start deleting posts. You've had your warning...
  6. Scott - nice Vader - you're all set! Don - you're taken care of too. Check out the detachment area threads...
  7. Now *that* is what I call a submission! Status change approved
  8. Thanks John - I'm really hoping someday this will be a 501st approved configuration. Hopefully more photos will surface.
  9. RockCo wins! It was also quoted as using a belt in "The Making of Star Wars". RockCo - you're up!
  10. I believe he will. For consistency, I'd like a new set of submission photos.
  11. Accurate or not, it's great to have some of the living memory jotted down for posterity. As mentioned memory fades - how much worse will it get in another 30 years? I appreciate everyone chiming in with their knowledge
  12. I think it's one of those items that can be eye-balled. It would be awful tough to put this in an exact number.
  13. All set Brian! Now, you have to explain this SithPig thing...
  14. OK it's been several weeks. Any update?
  15. Just to clarify: 1) Things like three bumps instead of four are *not* part of the standard and thus don't have to be achieved. 2) Right now I'm the person doing the approval of Mark status. Ideally we would appoint someone else to be the "Deployment" officer, but when I last asked no one volunteered, so I'm it by default. I'm open to applications. 3) Both Chazz & Matt both submitted via the correct forum at http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showforum=19, and both were vetted IOC with current standards. 4) Changing standards -> they've actually been amended, so it's not like it can't happen. It just requires someone to make the request and the detachment to approve via majority poll.
  16. Remember that the standard wasn't created to make a suit 100% movie accurate. The idea is to raise the quality bar for suits to ensure that they capture accurately the correct and essential movie elements. Let's get 50 TK's Mark deployed, then we can talk about raising the bar higher
  17. Has anyone been able to do that in a bucket successfully? I tried and it's a real pisser trying to get the straw to bend correctly.
  18. OK, here's a question: in ANH how were the thighs kept in position: A) attached to the cod/ab plate using a belt/garter system C) none of the above
  19. Sorry to ask yet again for more pix Scott - you've been very patient! Doing so however also gives us shots to post on the Mark deployed boards as well, and ensures there is consistent judging of costumes.
  20. Basically a discussion is OK. Picking fights is not. Baiting is not. Ideally this discussion can continue.
  21. Only screen grabs count. You're right the hero helmets had only the top screw and almost all of the stunts had two, but I did find a cap from the Tantive IV assault scene with only the top screw, talking to Vader (that's Lord Vader to you). EDIT: I checked again and the trooper in question is actually wearing a Hero helmet. Ahhh...so not just Luke & Han wore them. OK, so in the interest of having everything in one place, Scott can you take some new full set photos of you in costume, showing off your changes?
  22. What say you fellow troops - good enough?
