  1. Congrats Stefan - remember that Wookies are best engaged from range. Also, I need your last name to updated the Elite page - your info is all private on the 501st site.
  2. Way to go Aaron! Actually the low biceps are fine, and you can see this detail on the Tantive raid. Congrats brother - the suit looks awesome and this pint is for you : 7 in the UKG? I do believe that's a garrison record
  3. Some movies I loved when they came out but don't age well, or else I loved them but not enough to watch them again and again. Surprisingly the Incredibles I can seem to watch over and over, same with many Ridley Scott movies. "Love, Actually" is great. I think Iron Man will also be one of those classics that lives on forever, much more so than say the Spider Man movies, great as they were on first viewing. "Bigger, Faster, Stronger" had me glued to 1am to finish watching it, though it's one of the rare documentaries to do so. For the most part I tend to want to watch movies I've never seen before, rather than re-watch ones I have already.
  4. All in all it's exciting to see more Elites appearing in Germany - the largest garrison in the Legion. Way to Lead the Way guys!! Suit looks good to me - need Scott for the final word.
  5. Nope, not a requirement for 501st at all. Ideally people would do a seamless shim like clones do, but this is really only practical if you paint the armor (all clones are painted, as are TE2 TK's). Since this was a bit much to ask of people for ABS armor we decided to just state that the side gap needed to be filled. Ideally it would be done with an ABS shim. I think at some point it will be tightened up to state as such, but for now the main goal of Elite is just to tighten up the very loose 501st standards, not go for perfection.
  6. I have not had any issues with my TE2, but I am also not playing football in it either. HIPS comes in many varieties of quality and TE2 uses a good quality plastic that is pretty sturdy. TE2 should stand up to trooping, but certainly won’t take the abuse of ABS armor. So, if you just want to troop you can easily do this with TE2. If you want to abuse your kit, go with ABS. Oh – and my garrison mate has a TE2 with full fan/batteries packs/RomFx all in the bucket and it’s held up great over time.
  7. I hear that a lot but this is not borne out by my experience. I have owned an AP and three different TE2s, plus tried on someone else's TE2. The "smallest" and "largest" where both TE2. IMHO, the "true" difference is less of a factor than how the pull comes out and how it's assembled.
  8. I think there are more factors than screen accuracy. You have the ABS vs. HIPS, and also that they are not perfect substitutions. For instance many parts while looking similar are different, e.g. the dimples in the forearms are deeper and more square than those of AP. You really can't go wrong either way. Both are reputable vendors who offer quality kits. For instance my personal preference for me is TE2 and I'm 100% on that, however I have garrison members with AP and it looks good too.
  9. All set bro!
  10. Congratulations Colin! Elite status updated. I'm sure we can all lift a glass to help you celebrate!
  11. It sucks bantha poo-doo. Send it to xxxxx NE xxxth PL, Woodinville, WA and I'll ensure it's given a proper home. I mean, taken care of. j/k - very nice job and yes hero should have four rivets for the holster, but it's not part of the requirements for elite.
  12. To be honest I don't care where they come from or that he's doing it, a little transparency would be nice though. BACK ON TARGET: Mark - that is a really nice hero helmet and the detailing is wonderful I'm curious to see what you do with the inside as well ;-)
  13. As it should be. It's not part of the CRL.
  14. Yeah, that's what I did. Just kept typing in numbers until I found a free one. The entire roster is (?) posted so it made it easier to see what's taken.
  15. Actually Kevin Weir fan sculpted his helmets too, though he seems to get lost as a "maker". RT certainly has some different details - yet he also seems not to be mentioned as an original maker. And even if he started with an AP/TE for a base, he's made far more changes than anyone else. Also, TE is making helmets from something. No one believes he has this endless supply of "found" stuff in his basement. I've heard multiple stories, but am not sure which are credible
  16. Aaron & Jessica - welcome to full FISD membership. Hope to see some Elite apps soon
  17. Same could be said about black ab plate buttons and plastic belts. Alas... Part of the appeal of a stormtrooper is that we all look the same.
  18. Thank you sir! Now I'm wondering which were the original pieces, and which were added later as far as this make of armor goes.
  19. An interesting question came up when looking over my TE2. As we know the biceps are completely different, as are the forearms, as are the shins, and even the thighs. Heck, all the limbs are different from right to left. How much of this was true on the original suits and how much is just that the suit it was derived from was incomplete and some parts guessed at, or were from the ROTJ tour which may not have been true to the ANH ones? Were the original ANH suits mirrors right to left? I'd think if so at some point 1/2 of the limbs of TE-derived suits (TE/TE2/AP/Gino, etc.) would just be tossed and the other half mirrored.
  20. We have a rule on the forum not to sell items that aren't in hand. T*E violated this rule by selling helmets he did not have in hand. Also, he resorted to open flaming of others. Yes, he has contributed much to this hobby and even to this forum, but bad behavior is what it is and we gave him far more breaks than we do most everyone else.
  21. Very nice Andy! Are these done via a rapid prototyping machine?
  22. Well, apparently being DL has some privileges!
