  1. Depends which kit it is. Which one do you have? ABS generally just needs polishing, if that.
  2. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_esb As per the CRL's you're allowed the overlap method for basic approval, but not for EIB/Centurion. I would decide now what you want to aim for and have all the pieces the same. You will be able to get them apart, it just might be messy and difficult if you choose to go the cover strip method.
  3. So, after adjusting my biceps and forearms I attended my first troop, took some updated pics and submitted to my CO for approval. The GML is away and the CO is looking after all approvals. And I got rejected because my thighs are too high up! Comparisons below: Now I'm moving house, the armor is packed away and who knows when I'll get to it unfortunately.
  4. Looks awesome buddy! I think your detonator might be on upside down though....
  5. Billhag has a few good reference pics on his photobucket site. Below seems to show the bit on the front of the scope quite wide. Doesn't look like T-Track, in my opinion.
  6. Make sure you go to the "advanced search" tab and search "in Titles only"
  7. There's no definitive list as some people will make do with a hobby knife and a tube of E6000, where some people will go bezerk with the amount of tools they have. However, they've been plenty of previous discussions about this: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11760-basic-tools-needed-for-armour-building/?hl=%2Btools http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26814-tools-and-supplies/?hl=%2Btools http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/9809-tools-needed/?hl=%2Btools http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19704-what-tools-and-supplies-are-needed/?hl=%2Btools
  8. There weren't many builds happening when I ordered mine, so I may have been taking a bit of a gamble. $$$ and availability were what led me the MTK way. Not sure what his turnaround is like now, but I ordered Saturday, it was shipped Monday! And that gamble? It's paid off. Plenty of MTK builds happening now with a few in the EIB/Centurion sections too.
  9. Not knowing what's actually included in the kit, I'm not sure. But quality wise of the actually products, I'm sure you won't have any issues. I've seen plenty of his work and it looks immaculate. Someone else will have to chime in as to what's actually included if you haven't already got that info from Striker himself.
  10. Someone posted over on RPF that was the new Rubies blaster http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=185637&page=37&p=3381954&viewfull=1#post3381954
  11. Niiiice...!!! The armor, ah, the lady. Ok I'll shut up now
  12. Great work on the helmet so far. This is purely a question, not a statement (no ESB expert here), but should you have the same number of rank bars painted on both sides? And it's a bit hard to tell in your pics, but have you painted the bumps, or in between the bumps?
  13. I certainly hope we'll be seeing someone else doing the modelling as the build progresses!
  14. Hey Sean. Can you explain this step some more? Is this a permanent fixing meaning you can't take off the end cap?
  15. What he said ^^. I did my helmet first without any major dramas. And at least you'll have something cool to look at for the next 8 months!
  16. That's the problem I have with my boots. Too wide (although mine look taller that Steve's). The shins popped off during my first troop even with a bit of velcro. I think my next troop, I'm going to slit the elastic sides and hold the tops closed with some white tape. The shins will then fall down over the tape. That's until I can afford some better TK boots.
  17. Don't worry. My sniper plate is no where near my shins. The 2 end points and that's about it
  18. Video demonstration please
  19. Awesome stuff Adam. We'll done and truly deserved!
  20. Thank you, and you're welcome Adam. Thanks Jaren. Just also thought I'd mention - MTK builds are currently filling the top 3 spots on the build thread list
  21. Based on the curves of the 'calf muscle', and the way the inner parts curve in more at the ankle, my vote is that you have it right in the pictures. (Disclaimer: the 'R' shin is a little off centre in the image, so hard to tell for sure)
  22. I'm not happy with my hook closure either. 1: the big gaps like you speak of. 2: open the hooks up to allow to do up easy, they kept falling undone. 3: close up the hooks and I couldn't get then done up, impossible to undo. I might be going to velcro for that.... Thighs - a bit hard to tell until you get the torso/codpiece on to see how it all sits.
  23. That looks perfect, assuming you can still move. Also you're possibly not sure exactly where that shoulder bell will sit. Personally, I got the main torso clamshell done first, then started hanging bits off that. That way I knew exactly where bits were going to be positioned.
  24. Looks fantastic Adam! Good luck, I'm sure you've nailed it this time.
  25. Yeah, still no news. He didn't actually say how long the GML was away for. I'll hassle him this weekend if I haven't heard
