  1. I was right on the cusp between medium/large and went for the mediums. They are great when they are on and wouldn't want them any bigger, but jeez, they are hard to get off once you get a bit of sweat in there. For that reason I wish I went for the larger ones. Some people wear cloth inner gloves to battle the sweat, so the bigger ones would be better if you plan on doing that.
  2. I think Tino is the only other one to try this detailed mod that I have seen. Both yours and his look great. Well done http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26673-full-resin-e-11-from-doopydoos-with-some-modifications/?p=348657 Aaron's detail pics on the following page. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26673-full-resin-e-11-from-doopydoos-with-some-modifications/?p=348694
  3. Looks great Scott. The lighter weathering looks better in my opinion too. Well done!
  4. Post some pics of your boots/shins so we can see the exact issues. My boots are rubber, not leather and are also a bit wide at the top. I haven't yet, but am considering slicing the side elastics which will then allow me to manually close them up tighter around my ankles. If they don't stay put, then someone suggested to me to wrap white duct tape around them to hold them closed. This tape will then be hidden by the shins over the top. Again, haven't tried any of this myself, just suggestions made to me.
  5. Still not sure what you mean about "lengths". The length and circumference of each piece needs to be tailored to the wearer, so you won't find any specific measurements there. Post some pics up if you need specific help on a piece. Magnets - yes they will definately be helpful. I wish I bought some, but at the end of the day I built mine without ANY, so it is possible.
  6. You could also possibly think about your armor. Are you a battle hardened trooper with beat up armor and a beat up weapon, or are you fresh out of the academy with shiny white armor and a newly issued blaster?
  7. Looking good Andrew. Good luck
  8. Looks like you've got one of the first molds with the kidney cut out. Nice!
  9. Congrats. Slow and steady wins the race. My MTK took about 6 months to do. Just waiting on approval now. However, I say DO THE HELMET FIRST!
  10. Congratulations 10466. Hopefully I'm not far behind.....
  11. Even harder to get in Australia. I reverted to ebay.
  12. Yep. 100% normal. Even check out the behind the scenes shots of the actors and even Han and Luke in the movie when they take off their lids. They all do the sideways mount/dismount.
  13. Gotcha. I really want my bolt to slide so will have to carefully plan that step when I get there.....
  14. Oh, that was a bit confusing.... You updated post 1 the same as post 14???? Coming along nicely. The sliding inner bolt will clear all internal screws?
  15. Haha, yes I might try that as with my first "self" kit up I struggled to bend down that low to adjust them. Made it harder with my boots as they have a wide opening.
  16. If it's not a 501st approvable costume, can you just clamshell the forearms with Velcro to get them to fit better?
  17. Looking good Steve. As Derrek says, try getting rid of the return edge before you do anything with the overall length. Return edges on all the limb parts are optional so do what you want or need to with them.
  18. Thanks Adam & Ron. Funny thing was he also commented on a previous pic of mine showed NO GAP between the right thigh and shin, but then sent me this pic as a reference which appears to me to have no gap either. Oh well..... Anyway, as you say Ron, I managed to suit up by myself (for the first time) today and take some new pics. I think these ones, with the camera on a tripod at a better height look better anyway. Hopefully they will suffice for my CO.
  19. Thanks Steve. Yeah, much happier with the biceps and forearms now. Should have done it to start with. Cut out is still sitting at the 10x15 (I think) that was originally quoted or EIB. I'll see about increasing it when I apply for Centurion. I actually changed my garter set up, buying a velcro based lower back support brace instead. The shoulder straps ensures it stays at the right height and the thighs are fully adjustable by using the velcro.
  20. Tell me about it. Very frustrating. I guess this is a case of the CO is always right?? Lucky I have adjustable straps for my thighs so I'll have to suit up when I can, take some more pics and go again. Then hike them back up for my EIB application.
  21. $1.56 with free delivery. Worth a shot! Thanks mate.
  22. Looking good Tino. You did very well! Every time I mask, I always seem to get some overspray. In my case a little bit of black leaked out between the ears. Those last 8 photos - is that deliberate weathering, or just scuffing from the masking?
  23. Hey Andrew, Can you post a link of the ones you bought? Are they quiet enough to run 2 under the lid?
  24. Did you search? All his for sale threads came up when I searched http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28184-fs-hyperfirm-anh-e-11-5-in-hand/?hl=%2Bhyperfirm
